Update 2.20 will include BD LIVE *Blu Ray Disc LIVE*.

So what does BD LIVE do? Users will have the ability to obtain downloadable video content, ringtones, games, and more for the movie you're watching.

But that's not all 2.20 will include. The update will also include the following additions:
-enable photo and music playlists on PS3 to be copied to PSP
- "Resume play" will enable PS3 system to start playing a Blu-ray disc
and DVD at the point it was stopped, even if the disc had been
removed.
- "Audio Output Device" will be a new Remote Play setting, enabling PSP
to serve as a remote control for music played through PS3.
- PS3 system's Internet browser will be enhanced: Video files directly
linked from a Web page will be able to be streamed, and the browser's
view speed will be improved.
-DivX and WMV format videos that are larger than 2GB will be playable.
-"Mosquito Noise Reduction" will be added as an AV setting in the
control panel of the DVD/BD player for improved movie playback.

eventually that will come out, its not a major concern IMO however. Some games apparently feature it, part of the issue is that the developer, as much as Sony, must enable the feature.

you know honestly...i dont thirst for that feature as much as i would want to, but im thinking that in the next batch of games coming out, you'll probably be able to do that, i think if Folding@Home lets you do it, then im pretty damn sure that its on the to do list for Sony

If I want to listen to other music while play a game I just have my PSP/cell phone/computer play it lol.

In-Game XMB will come...not in this update but Sony is working on it. When it does come, I assume you'll be able to play music while in-game with it as well.

Oh, for those of you with PSPs, there is going to be something a little extra with the 2.20 update:

Pretty cool!

I kinda find it funny that when the Wii and PS3 were both annouced Nintendo made a huge deal over Wii to DS conectivity, while PSP to PS3 was just kinda meh to everyone.

Well going into 2.5 years the PSP to PS3 bond is extremely strong, while the only DS to Wii thing thats out is Pokemon Battle Revolution which is almost a year old. I THINK Japan has a channel for DS demos though that you download from the Wii, but NoA doens't want to do it.

I don't know about you guys, but this sounds cool. Does it still resume the disc even if you've placed another disc in the PS3 and watched that?

I'd say the main problem with playing your own music when playing a game would be that developers feel that you're not experiencing/appreciating the work they put into their own musical score. It could also be distracting when cut scenes occur or when you're supposed to "pay attention" to the game and its directions.

well honestly theres gonna be games that youre simply gonna get tired of the soundtrack. i honestly get tired of most fighting/racing game music, and once i get a chance to play my own, thats probably all i'll hear

and as far as the cut scenes go, they'll just put in code that will fade the music out, or just turn it off...simple fix

Yeah...I liked DMC4's battle music...but hearing the same one over and over again kind of got old.

Update is up!

Ok...portable copy didn't make it in this update...guess they delayed it. But I do know something that is included that they didn't include in the update list. Apparently they forgot to mention support for subtitles with DivX in the update. Here's a video, and the guy mentions it near the end:

I don't like playlists... I'd rather have folders with folders in them.
