Because I love you guys longtime (with mouth), here's the bigger version of the image I drew for my sig, which is a reworking of this thing. It's a Mike Mignola stylehack (as is pretty much mandatory if you're drawing Nazis getting punched out), and though it kind of deviated from target a bit I think it still works. I'm pretty pleased with the composition, and even threw in a little colour theory stuff to spice things up a little. I've also submitted it in the Art Arena, but I guess the Nazis found out since it went from 5 votes with an average of around 8, to 19 votes with an average of about 2. Pretty ********' lame, yo. Votes to tip the balance back in favour of awesomeness would be appreciated, of course. cool

I like it, BUT there is one thing that really bothers me... I don't like how our legs just end. Either finish your legs or taper the line into nothingness more.
There is great motion in the piece. The zombie is more fluid than your are, but it still looks really hot.
Also, the texture is looking great.

Aha, right. Yeah, I might tweak it a little to fade out the lower linework more smoothly, in that case. I was mostly working from the cover of this book to get the kind of ink-wash effect. 3nodding

You have done a good job... you should add a little more fog to it like the cover.
It'll help the taper more.

I think the fading on the legs is fine, but I think the position itself is boring. In the spirit of the style you could (and should) be getting away with a much more dynamic body line

I do agree, the legs are a touch bothersome; it's an action pose yet his stance seems very static. I can't speak from experience, but if you just clocked a guy (undead or non-undead) your weight will probably be favoring one side.
Also, bottom center on the nazi's arm is a burn spot. It bothers me intensely. mad
ANYWAYS,
Mostly, I came to ask a durmb question: The patterning on the bottom, is that a basic noise generator, paper settings in Painter or somethin else? I've been considering using a similar style for some of my stuff, and my first instinct is to start messing with brush patterns and layer filters.

The patterning is a combination of Photoshop filters, just to give it a bit of texture - a combination of the Noise filter (with some slight Gaussian Blur applied so it's not quite so pixelly) and a few Color Burn layers of the Render>Clouds filter set to about 40% opacity. 3nodding I'll tweak it a little to fix the burn spot, though. xd As for the pose, hm. Yeah. I thought I'd kind of fixed it by rotating the canvas a little to make it look a bit more off-balance and dynamic, but apparently not. sweatdrop
