Please stab my heart...
He had been staring at this bench seat for far too long, probably because he had been laying here for far too long. He had decided that the color was not blue, but a faded green, and had counted the paint chips (for is was no longer solidly painted). Yes, he'd been laying here for far, far too long.
But he didn't want to move. It was peaceful here. He was located at the far end of the park, where humans and their pets hardly visited because it was too far of a walk, or not close enough to the lake. A simple oak tree shaded the seat and the grass hadn't been cut in quite some time. Yes, this was beautiful in his eyes. But for some reason he felt... lonely. That was odd.

Her legs were relatively shorter than mosts, so she strives to walk that extra mile. With a jotting smile, she continued to walk herself, her odd coat usually got her stared at but this part of the park was barren really. Not many ventured here at all, the path way was over grown slightly, less pebbles but the sidewalk was broken and jarred and uplifted.
Stepping up, and over the cracked parts, she continued forward. Bright eyes sparkling as she made her way towards the far end, what a feat today she thought with a bubbly laugh.
Love was rather up beat and chipper even though she was alone in the world, she didnt let that bother her at all. She was her own rainbow on a stormy black day...

At first he didn't give it a second thought when a rainbow came into his vision, but then he realized that rainbows are usually in the sky, and don't move. He lifted his head slightly, perking his ears at what he had mistaken to be an illusion of light.
A little, colorful dachshund female. She seemed to be rather happy, and obviously hadn't seen him yet. He took a moment to ponder over the pros and cons of making himself noticed; on one hand, he had felt lonely, on the other, did he really want to talk to someone who looked so bubbly? Of course... he really would rather talk to someone annoyingly happy than someone irritatingly grumpy.
With that in mind he let out a short, soft bark.

At the short bark, her movement stopped as her ears perked, and her tail went straight into the air. She looked around, her sense of smell and hearing were wonderful, but her sight was a little fuzzy on things to far away. Not everything could be perfect she mused as finally the Jack Russel male came into view.
She let out a soft yap back at him as she finally returned to her normal stance she continued now towards him. Wondering what he was doing all the way down here alone. Where was his family? She asked herself with a tilt of her head as she grew closer his pelt and colors became more apparent. He was an odd mixtures of bronze, yellows and a pale copper what an interesting mix! She thought with a smile.
Love was rather upbeat, but she knew when to keep it to herself.

He smiled as she neared, as he'd learned it was best to be friendly in all situations. When she was close enough he realize that she wasn't quite a rainbow at all, more like a tropical bird like he saw at the pet seller's place. She even seemed to have wings... intriguing.
"Hello." He greeted, his voice just as soft as his bark.

"Hello..." She seemed to chirp out softly, her tail gave a slight wag. He had an interesting marking on his ear, she seemed to arched up to the tips of her paws to see it more clearly.
"I'm Love.." She introduced herself, many found her name silly but she rather liked it. Love caused many different feelings, some good, some painful and she liked that her name didnt mean she always had to be happy.
She padded around him, trying to see if he had the marking on his other ear.

He nodded as she gave her name. "Beautiful name. I'm..." He paused as she started to walk around to the other side of him, "I'm... Heru... What are you doing?" He chuckled. She proved to be amusing so far.
After a moment he realized what she was doing, his ears. He turned his head slightly so she could see easier and grinned.

"A silver tongue too? Well arent you just a bundle of colors Heru.." She mused with a soft laugh. "Heru..I like that..rolls off the tongue.." She stopped and as he tilted his head her eyes widened.
"Oh! You do have it on both ears..Its such a lovely marking.." She commented with another wag of her tail. She liked him so far, he didnt mind her odd behavior, she was usually chased off by now.

"You're quite pleasant yourself, Miss Love." He stood and stretched, then hopped off the bench so he wasn't sitting above her, more like at her level though he was still a bit taller.
He wiggled his ears at her comment and smiled. "The marking on your bark is quite lovely, as well. Looks like wings."

She laughed a bit as she crannied her head to the side to look at her back, indeed they did look like wings. "Hmm, I never looked at them that way..but your right!" she rolled her shoulders, curious if the markings would flap.
A silly thought, but it tickled her brain none the less. "Please, you can all me just Love..Miss makes me feel like a show dog.." She still had to look up at him, but she was used to that. Though, it was alot better now that he was off the bench.
"What are you doing down here without your human?" she asked with a tilt of her head, he had to have one. He was special..and all the special ones did.

"Certainly pretty enough to be a show dog, Love." If they would accept odd colors of course, but if they did, she was a winner.
"I don't really have a human, per say. There's a female that lets me into her home to eat and take shelter from the weather, a nice human really, but I never stay for long and she doesn't seem to mind." He shrugged a bit. "What about you? Where's yours?"

She just smiled, "But my wild colors arent to welcoming there..I may outshine a dalmatian.." She giggled a bit. "Though you, you could be a beautiful show dog.." She nodded.
"I have a human kinda like yours, great for a good belly rub. But I like to be able to be free when I want to be..Its nice, to know you can go somewhere when you dont want to be alone.." She smiled fondly at the thought of the human girl who enjoyed to share her dinner with her. "Humans arent bad at all..though some of them.." She shuddered a bit.
"Want to finish my walk with me? I plan to walk from the start of the park, to the very end of it.."

"I've been in a show or two. The human is a breeder and took me with her. Not really for me, though it was amusing." The lights and attention were a bit too much for his quiet nature, but it was okay.
"I know my fair share of bad humans too. There's a gumpy male who comes here every so often. Pushed me off this bench once." He let out a rough sound, too soft to be a growl, but not really friendly.
"I'd love to walk with you." He stepped back a bit to let her lead the way as he spoke. "Do you do this often?" It seemed like a good way to keep fit, now that he thought about it.

"Oooh, they sound like it. All that prancing and such.." She shook her head with a faint roll of her eyes. "Id be like a tank, and barrel in there and cause scandal and outrage.." She smirked. "Would be good fun on a rainy day.."
Her brows knit together at the mention of being pushed. "You should pee on his shoe. Bet he'd leave you alone..and well it'd be an amusing story later wouldnt it?" She looked to him, yeah..he was one of those good guys. She liked him..she'd have to come back and visit.
"Its always better with good company.." She began to head back towards the neglected pathway. "I do it to prove that I can...that my height doesnt limit me at all..." She held her head proudly, even if her paws would feel it later.

"Oh no, I couldn't do that. He'd probably kick me." He screwed his face up in a disgusted expression, but soon relaxed it again. "Would be a pretty amusing story, though. Not quite one I'd try to impress a lady with though.
"Certainly is making a statement to me. I don't think I've ever walked the full length of this park. Takes a real dog to do it, I guess." He chuckled, following after her, not minding the broken path. She had guts, and determination. He liked it.
