Momi sighed softly as he shook out his mane. The snow was leaving, dripping down off the trees and trickling into the river making it unbearably cold. The playful stallion was for once rather subdued and quiet as he watched his winter wonderland melted down around him.
It just wasn't right!! Another year gone and he was still alone. Pen had Hugs, Mapiya didn't have a mate but she had the little one she was taking care of. Who did he have? No one... He heaved another sigh looking to the ground.

Luca strolled along a damp path, unperturbed by the melting snow about her. She was feeling fine and sassy today. Her second brood were grown now, strong and lively boys. She was inordinately proud of them. Her tail swished slowly behind her as her small hooves lightly touched the ground. She loved the hiss of her tailhairs moving, savored the feel of mane and tail touching her hide silkily. Head held high, she continued going to who knew where. She had no destination, but to be on the move. It often struck her after her little ones no longer needed her immediately. She had the soul of a wanderer and the heart of a lover. And with spring, the season of love, approaching fast, she was in her element. Or would be, once the snow was all gone.
Bobbing blossoms caught her eye, and she paused to stretch her neck and take a deep breath of the scent. The flowers seemed to smile up at her, and she obligingly nibbled at them before moving on again. Yes, spring was a lovely time of year.

Hearing hooves approuch Momi blinked looking up. Oh my..she was truly stunning. Momi felt himself a bit tongue tied to look at her. He had never really felt shy around mares before, but there was something about the self-assured way the mare moved, her beautiful eyes, well she was just stunning.
He felt stupid just standing there staring but really...

A slight noise, or a shift in the breeze, made Luca shift her gaze, and upon doing so, she stopped in her tracks and stared right back. She was stunned completely speechless.
Her first thought was, "What is wrong with this stallion??" He was covered from shoulder to fetlock in black cloth of the sort the two-leggers covered themselves in. It took her aback, and made her pause in thought for her safety. Was this stallion safe and sane? For once in a long, long while, Luca was terribly uncertain.
To make matters worse, he was staring at her. It hadn't really occured to her that she too was staring, but his stare wasn't helping his confidence. She snorted, shook her head hard to shake this odd feeling, and stomped a hoof. He wasn't a bad looking stallion, she supposed, under all that confining, concealing material. Taking herself in hand firmly, she made herself step closer and smile as best she could. "Uh... hello?"

Momi shook his head then smiled faintly "I am sorry ma'am. I didn't mean to be staring so." He smiled sheepishly again his ears perking forward. " I am Momiji but you can call me Momi."

SHe just couldn't entirely shake this feeling of wariness. Clothing, on a soquili? It made no sense whatsoever, and her mind reeled around it. For once in her life, Luca had discovered something that put her entirely off from the normal attraction she felt towards stallions of any kind. The sensation of not being attracted was decidedly unsettling for a mare of her demeanor.
But that didn't mean she couldn't be polite, at least. "Greetings, Momi. My name is Luca." She tactfully avoided mentioning the clothing, treating it like an unsightly defect that would be rude to discuss or bring up to someone she just met. However, without that initial attraction to guide her actions, Luca found herself sadly at a loss. What did one say in such an uncomfortable situation? She swished her tail nervously and edged sideways. What would Guilian with his glib tongue come up with if he were here? She racked her brains and sidestepped again.
"Ah... I'm looking for the prettiest of the spring flowers," she added as her wits finally came back into play. "I recently found out my son has found a mate! It seems a fragrant and tasty bouquet of blossoms would make a reasonable gift from a mother-in-law, don't you think?" There we go. She began to relax as her gift for conversation put her back on track. It was ridiculous really, to be so thrown by a stallion's appearance. There were always things to discuss besides physical pleasures, after all. "I don't suppose you've noticed any particularly lovely ones hereabouts, have you?"

Momi had slowly become aware of her uncomforted but wasn't sure what he had done to make her feel that way. He had just been about to offer to leave, least he disturb her further when she mentioned the flowers.
He smiled then happily ears perking forward, " Indeed I do ma'am! " He was nothing if not very polite. " If you would care to follow me I would be happy to show them to you. " He inclined his head slightly waiting for her answer.
