... it's not over yet ... (Dust Spin Lv. 5)
It had been a few days prior to Cybil's funeral. Dispite the mother's earlier display of upset, Marijus was surprised to have received an invitation. He had mulled it over a few times in his head if it were appropriate but after many nights of finding no sleep he made up his mind.
The funeral came and went; shortly thereafter, Marijus was back in the lab doing what he did best. Even talk from Becca couldn't keep him away as he still had samples of Cybil's blood and her files were set off to the side. The girl may be gone but that didn't mean her spirit was dead. Quite the contrary she left valuable information behind in hopes of finding the needed cure for future victims. He wouldn't let her death be in vain.
This particular evening he had holed himself up in the lab. Going so far as to lock the door so others couldn't bother him. While they did have keys most would get a clue once they found a desk pushed up against the door to hinder their entry.
Looking over Cybil's files, Marijus was baffled again and again. It was like the virus were non-existent. He had found it instantly but it posed no threat at the time. Then all of a sudden the girl started feeling pain and one after another her vital organs began to fail her. Continued test provided the obvious issues but the virus had seemed as if it were no longer there; almost like it was hiding. "Yae know it'd be nice if yae would give mae some help or some'ting." Marijus was looking in a telescope at Cybil's maginfied blood. His attention, however, was on the bottle which sat on a desk next to none other than Mr. Happy.
Ever since receiving that toy from Cybil, the bottle's mist had been content. It didnt' threaten to fizzle out like before; along with that the usual stinch had subsided drastically, although still quite noticeable if one knew what they were sniffing for. Allowing himself to take a break Marijus moved over to the toy and bottle glaring. "Why? Why did that girl have to die like that? It was so... horrible. Nae feel useless, like no amount of knowledge nae got it amounted to nothing when it came to dat girl." He sighed looking at all the equipment around him.
So much data and not one single bit of it could save that girl. There were viruses, tumors, contaminated blood and all sorts of pesti just waiting to be released on the general public, yet Marijus was doing everything he could to protect the people from the inside out. "Well?" He questioned the bottle as he reached for his flask. "Yae just gonna sit there looking pretty?" He sighed. "Aye... nae suppose nae got not choice. Either continue or quit mae job." He snorted. "Fat chance of that happening. Watch mae, nae will find a cure. Nae always do in the end." He smiled unscrewing his flask as he bent back for a long gulp...
It was never a good idea to drink on the job but it never interferred with his job before... until now. With every minute that he filled his stomach with the spicy liquor, Marijus was well on his way to a drunk stupor. And one could not work under such conditions. As he tried focusing his blurred vision in the magnifine he grew more frustrated. His hands once steady were now shakey and trying to disect specimen just didn't make it any easy. Feet that walked in a straight line were all over the place and with it hips that bumped and knocked over glasses and containers holding harzardous materials. He tried straightening up but only managed to make a bigger mess of things, it would be left up to the biohazard crew to clean. While none of the material was life threatening exposed to oxygen it was not wise to clean without proper procedures... this Marijus didn't care for as he pulled out a broom to try and sweep up the glass at the very least.
Though his final conviction being that he swung the broom around which tipped his bottle knocking it on its side. Marijus balked watching in slow motion as the bottle rolled and rolled threatening to fall off the edge.
He was in a run almost instantly hands outstretched to catch the runaway bottle as it threatened to crash on the floor...
Thankfully he was quick enough to reach it as he caught the bottle in hand. Sighing in relief he looked it over before glaring madly. "Yae did that on purpose!" Of course the bottle could not respond. "Aye. Let's call it a day." With that he went to remove the desk from the door called a clean up crew and headed for home, Mr. Happy and bottle in hand.

... another day, another dollar ... (Life Dust Lv. 5)
Today would be spent with a little more production. It was time to go shopping, not for his home. That he always kept stocked with food and supplies. No... today would be spent in a different sort. A biomedical scientist couldn't vary well learn about different viruses that threatened the world staying holed in the lab all the time. He had to get out into the world, gather samples from plants, water supply and even living subjects such as the people from the town.
His first stop was making house calls, most were over due for their usual drawing of blood. These were patients who had wanted to return home after learning their illnesses would not be cureable over night. Marijus had signed all of their leave papers despite the protest from collegues at work. He didn't have a family of his own but knew the pain of dying alone in a medical ward. It comforted most patients to be with family and friends, it even helped remedy some of the more physcological aspects of thier illnesses that doctors were unable to handle.
The first patient was an aging old man in his late 80s. He was due to hit his 90s within a year. His family hoped to keep him around at least for that long to celebrate his many years and dedication to the family. Knocking on the door he had Mr. Wilson's files ready in hand. Inside his carrying pouch was the dingy Mr. Happy and his bottle which he couldn't be without for longer than he cared to admit. Smiling as the door was opened, Marijus went about his usual routine upon being let in. He greeted the family, spent a little down time with Mr. Wilson while checking his vitals and administering antibiotics needed to keep his immune system functional all of this went on in the spand of a half hour to an hour. When he was done he had collected some blood and stool samples to return to the lab for analysis. He gave the family instructions on Mr. Wilson's further care before leaving, barely holding in a strained laugh as the family mutt pissed on his trousers.
He left shaking out the urine from his pants with a heavy sigh. So the day begins... It continued on this way with his usual visits. Administration of medicines, retreival of blood and fecal matter as well as updates on the files for each subject. He soon shifted his work to the outdoors where he went to the outskirts of Whi Forest. Of course he heard the rumors dealing with the forest but didn't care so much for them. Whatever lay within the forest wouldn't mind his prowling about for his usual collection of herbs. He'd done it many times before, now was no different.
As he worked collecting the herbs, roots and grasses; he noticed something new in the area. Looking at the strange fungus he blinked a few times then quickly scurried to his bag where he left sitting under a tree. Pulling it out he went back to the fungus and realized it held the same similar design as upon the bottle, it even looked like that mushroom head from the drawing Becca had shown him. Could it be, the mushroom spores had migrated somehow?
Quickly he plucked the offending fungus from its nesting place and placed it in a container. He noted a few more fungi and quickly snagged them to add to his collection. The bottle which sat on a stump next to him seem inanimate for the most part. Marijus chuckled looking at it. "Aye. It be time to head back and get some grub." He announced. Gathering the bottle and his pouch he took time to sort through all that he had. With the blood and fecal samples along with herbs and other assortment of medical related items, there was barely any room in the pouch for the bottle, but he managed to nestle it softly in a corner.
As he did, a sudden spark caught his eyes but he realized it was just the glare of the sun hitting the bottle. After all he had wandered a small distance away from the overhead canopy. "Right." He growled matching the sound his stomach was making as he hurried home for food.

... when will it end? ... (Dust Spin Lv. 5)
After making his house calls, Marijus returned back to the lab where he deposited all that he had gathered. The samples were placed in their respective containers while, Marijus went about sterilizing his work area. He wanted to get a bit of research out of the way before the day was over.
Placing the bottle in clear sight he left it to its own devices. It sat idly with Mr. Happy as its current companion while Marijus worked diligently. This was typical of the good doctor, coming into work with no one to notice him. He'd work well into the late hours only stopping in between for breaks or something to eat. This time, however, he didn't bother taking many breaks and worked well into the late night hours. Most of his work was dedicated to Cybil, where he wanted to test a few things. None too surprising it had a lot to do with the bottle as well which was beginning to aggrivate him.
Ever since finding it in the storage room he'd not left it unattended. No matter how many times he had wanted to, he had even tried but found himself returning to the bottle regardless. Something about it kept calling to him. While he had not received any prior information on the strange object he could feel it, deep down there was something definately special about it. At that thought his head snapped up from the microscope where he looked at the bottle and then the doll. "Wait a minute..." He breathed smirking slightly.
Something in him was begging him to research the matter further. And so he stopped his current dealings, taking swift strides to the table where the bottle sat. Plucking it from the table he shifted it around in his hand, looking it over from all angles but nothing was amiss. Save for the faint stench and the mist around it, the bottle was for all cases normal. It was at this time he remembered something odd about the bottle...
Holding it closely in hand he snatched up the doll as well. It was another item he couldn't bring himself to leave unattended. Heading into the dark halls he walked with a purpose to the one place that started it all. Rounding the corner and ending at the hall he stood in front of the door that led to the storage room. This was where it began. This was the place where the bottle had made its appearance and for Marijus he hoped that this would be where it would end.
Stepping inside he looked around the room noting the coolers in the back, the containment lockers off to the side and the boxes which held medical approved bottles inside. Heading for one of the boxes he carefully set the bottle and doll on one of the counter tops, making certain it would not fall while he got to work opening the boxes in hopes of finding what he was looking for...
Time seemed to pass swiftly as every single box was opened but he found nothing. Looking up to the bottle and doll frustratedly he kicked a few boxes tossing a bottle or two before standing abruptly to his feet. This was definately not getting him anywhere and so he collected his things and made his exit. Maybe he wasn't looking in the right place... or maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

... when will it end? ... (continued from above )
Marijus had tried many different angles, many different ideas. There simply were not enough answers for the questions that bounced around in his head. Every box had been open that night, not just in the storage room but any box capable of storing bottles had been ripped open and its contents emptied onto the floor. The medical ward had been flipped upside down by a mad doctor who was continuously muttering incoherent phrases dealing with bottles.
His collegues had no idea what to think of this. Most of all, Becca; she had tried to get a hold of him but he rounded yet another corner in search of any boxes he might have missed. They all must be checked, every last one.
Meanwhile, Dr. Marijus was not attending to the bottle he left in the storage room. One of the nurses had entered the room to find all the boxes had been emptied and most of the bottles were shattered or cracked. It just so happened she needed a container; with a sudden sparkle the bottle - which belonged to Marijus -caught her eye. Along side of it the toy lay limply at its side. "Now why would anyone leave such a thing here. And this bottle... so.. eww.. it stinks." She turned up her nose after getting a wiff of its intoxicating aroma. "This is highly unsanitary." She breathed. "I better get rid of them."
Marijus on the other hand was still on his box hunting prowl his thoughts completely jumbled. Though it was by this time he realized he hadn't taken the time to secure the bottle and toy. Looking around frantically he remembered they were in the storage room and quickly retraced his steps there. Opening the door he noted the bottles but wasn't concerned for them, looking around again his bottle was gone... even the toy. They were both gone. "Where is it?" He breathed kicking boxes around, moving shelves as he searched high and low. "Where is it?"
Becca managed to catch up this time trying to regain her breath in the process. "Where's what?" She asked looking at the mess the doctor had created. "Marijus is this necessary? You're in an uproar over nothing. Please calm down and lets think things through rationally."
But no amount of thinking or rationalizing would stop the doctor as he whirled around and pushed passed Becca. He was in a frantic state of mind. The bottle was gone and the only remaining memory of Cybil was gone with it! Even the doctor's mind was gone. He searched high and low, asking questions and prodding anyone who looked suspicious. This continued until he came across a nurse who looked like she had just disposed of some things. It couldn't be?
"Nurse? Nurse!" He called hurrying his steps. "Aye have yae seen a bottle 'round anywhere? Has strange designs on it, rather stinky otherwise. 'Twas with an old toy too." He tried discribing his trinkets as best he could hoping the woman knew.
"Oh yes.. the bottle reeked and the toy was riddled with all kinds of infestation. I wouldn't recommend bringing such foul things to a ward, doctor. It isn't good for the patients or your research. What with all the crazy diseases floating around but do not fear I put it in the back. Come this way..."
Escorting Marijus and Becca who caught up once more into the back the nurse prattled on about this and that to which neither was listening. Marijus was just more concerned in retrieving his things and Becca was more concerned in figuring out what had Marijus in such an uproar to begin with. When they finally got to the back the nurse looked around expecting to find the bottle and toy where she had left it but both were gone. "I put them right here. Honest!" she wailed worried that the doctor would exact his wrath upon her.
Marijus sighed. "Fine. Let's just look 'round for dem then." He said beginning his search.
