God is always there, even when it feels like he isn't. I know I have the same problem, so I'll probably sound a bit hypocritical, but have you tried working through it? It sounds like you have been, with continuing to pray, but have slipped from reading the bible because it bored you. You may want to try reading the book of Job, because he kind of faced the same things, with having everything taken away and then breaking out in sores, he never cursed God, but I'm sure he was wondering what was going on. Have you tried reading any Christian books, like devotionals or read-the-Bible-in-a-year? I think that maybe getting a new perspective on things that happen in the Bible would help relight your fire.

Not only that, but, things have to get worse before they get better. It's like when you have to go to the hospital. Yeah, it's going to hurt like no other for a while, and sometimes the pain may be unbearable, but once the wound is healed over time, things start getting better.

Very good advice.

God doesn't hate anybody at all and he's always there for us, but I think he does test our faith at times. Like Willow said, the book of Job is a very good example of this.
As for me, I don't get bored reading the Bible but I do procrastinate on it enough to where I never do read it because of all the "fun" distractions around me like video games (yeah, when it comes to the thought of reading and/or studying, I get distracted very easily) xp
However, I still enjoy going to church and my weekly small group to get great teachings and insights that really help grow my spiritual development in learning and understanding new things about our Christian walk razz

It's always darkest before the dawn. Honestly it is the most annoying quote ever, but you find it is generally true. Just press on and find some sort of solace, whether it be a person or something else like music or art or gaming or something. Everyone thinks thier life sucks at one time or another. It's all about distracting yourself with something that makes you happy. Find a good Christian musician/music group to listen to, find a bunch of friends you can hang out with and not think about everything that's going wrong, dive into a good video game and lose yourself. All the crap in your life will eventually fade away, and you'll be a stronger person for having gotten through it.

God is always there so don't fear.....This is what God told me to write for you:

Nowhere else to run to
Just forsaken, so alone
Nothing seems to go
The way you planned
Everything goes wrong
just trapped in this place
With no one to hold onto

Don't forget the Son
Shining down on you
Have faith
and don't lose hope
The storm is ending
I am the Way of Life

Hold me tightly,
Cling to me with your heart
There's no escape from my unending love
Bring me your sorrows
Lay them at my feet
I'll hold you, my child
Just close your eyes, rest and sleep

Don't forget the Son
Shining down on you
Have faith
and don't lose hope
The storm is ending
I am the Way of Life

Just hold on.....

Oh there are all sorts of examples of this sort of thing, even in the Bible. If I remember right, even Job went through something like that. A fictional story by Christian author Bryan Davis really helped me a lot. It's called Eye of the Oracle. You should check it out.

Well if the internet is your only fellowship, then you can look for churches online. I know a place where you can download good sermons.

http://www.marshill.org/

Look for our teachings and you can download the sermons.

Also, we are here for you. If you have an questions, just ask like you are doing now. If we had a bible study would you like to join that?

Another good resource, google Andrew Schwab. He's the lead singer/songwriter of the Christian rock band Project 86. He's got a couple of different psuedo-sermon/speeches floating around the internet, he's a pretty good poet, and his website's got some of his personal, non-poetic writings that are pretty cool. He's got solid Christian ideas, and presents them in a manner more readily accepted by the punk-rock crowd of Orange County (Project 86's place of origin)

blame it on the christian boogey man.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 07, 2008 7:02 pm

Whether or not we are correct, it is healthiest to blame a supposed non-entity for the troubles in one's life than to attach the blame to some real person in one's life and lashing out at them for supposedly causing all of one's problems Lazarus.

ok so you would rather blame it on an imaginary being or abstract idea than actually pass the blame to the one deserving of it? if you know where the problem is coming from you can better understand how to alieviate said problem isn't that somewhat accurate? i'm sorry Wolfe but i don't see how that is healthy. blame where blame is due.
