This is such a cool song but being the rare flute in jazz band we don't have a part! My BD is gonna transpose the tenor sax one part, but she kinda screwed it up a little so when we played it today she had transposed it for her instrument part of the way (clarinet) and the other part flute!!! Anyway has anyone ever heard this song? Or played it for that matter?

It's a cool song, but some arrangements suck. Like one, for instance, left out a bass part for a Tuba part! evil I play bass, so that pissed me off. Finally, my BD found a good arrangement that we *le gasp* can't play, because we can't stay on the beat, and our articuation sucks. Yeah, it's a good piece, if you're in high school, but it's not for middle school, unless you're good at keeping the tempo >.>

I am in middle school............................Its not that hard actually but still very cool either way! Our part is probably simplified but still. It was made for jazz band and jazz band is composed of the best students at our school so I guess you do have to be good to play it.

OMFG! We just played that and totally kicked a**! I'm in eighth grade and we played it at out festival. It was the last song of the whole thing so we totally kicked! It was sooo~ fun to do!
Favorite song I've ever played, by far!

that song is epic, it was one of the favorites within our jazz band freshman all the way to senior, it was a pain to learn but once we did... it was the most awesome song ever the 32nd runs were killers..... my fingers hurt just thinking about it....

I love that song!! In choir last year, fourth period sang it, but I was in first period. On the last day of school, the teacher let us pick out two pieces of music to run through and we picked that one. It's sooo awesome! I don't know the instrumental part, but I love to sing it!

benny goodman is LOVE!
sing sing sing is one of the coolest clarinet songs evar heart .
I recommend it for anyone - but it's super easy to play... at least for our little ensemble. We have group of 4 eighth graders - a bass, vibes, tenor sax, and *moi*, a bass clarinet.
It was fun, but very easy for us. XD

We played that song last year in middle school jazz band. It was nifty. We don't have any music yet this year. (I'm in high school now)

I love that song, but it's pretty easy to slow down or speed up playing it. I heard this one band start off on a solid tempo, til the drummer did a solo bit on it, then they got off 2 beats and speed up. Thenn the trumpets couldn't keep up and then they slowed down... train wreck... it went on like that for a bit.

You get to know the people in the band so well and omg it is soo much fun. I play the bari and dont get to play alot of the melody but just listening to the other parts and knowing you helped play this amazing song, its just amazing. Expecially if you get into the higher jazz bands and go to state.
