((Donny and Kea only. STAY AWAY IF YOU'RE NOT A SUCCUBUS OR A...SHINY GUY! >:/))
"You're sure you'll be good on your own?" Shauna put her hands on her hips and looked around the mall. She'd been just a tiny bit older than her sister when she first started coming to the mall alone...but still! This was her sister! Kea rolled her eyes, letting them fade from their normal colors into a matching amber when she looked up at her sister, and nodded to Shauna with a smile.
"Yes, I am. You won't have to wait on me to pick the clothes that you want, and you can use all the time you would like to pick a dress for Momma and Daddy's wedding." She answered with a giggle, knowing Shauna hated to be kept waiting. It was for her sister's own good...and it was more fun if Kea got to do this alone! Shauna seemed to buy it. With a smile she ruffled her little sister's curly blonde hair that Kea had made to match her white and yellow sundress. She was in a bright mood today! She was going dress shopping! Just like Momma! ...Only Momma's dress was way, way more expensive. "I'll look for you later. I know where I can find you." And with that she waved and turned in the opposite direction, flitting off without really paying attention to where she was going. She just wanted to be free of adult--well almost--supervision~!

It was the fates that decided Kea deserved to be free of older supervision, and so even though Donny was also at the mall looking for new clothes for his new body, instead of the right turn Donny would have made that would have bumped him into Kea and let them meet for the first time, something somehow convinced him that turning left was a better idea and he did so.
And thusly the two never met their entire lives ever. The end. sad
..Just kidding!
Although Donny did take a wrong turn on his way out of the snobby little store he had been browsing at first, he had taken a good look at what lay ahead of him and realized that none of these stores were his style. Perhaps it was a bad idea to come looking for clothes after all; he should just have his family members make custom clothes for him. One of those women types must be able to do something for him, after all. With the right persuasion he was sure he could get them to craft something fine enough to suit his tastes.
With this decision in mind, he turned back around and headed the other way. This was of course the direction that little Kea was coming from, and it was hard to miss her. It would be even harder to miss him, however. He gave the girl a glance as he headed in her direction, and looked away. Curiosity made him glance again, and his brow wrinkled. There was definitely something familiar there, something he knew he should be paying attention to. He'd never met the girl before, though, and instead of stopping to say hello he simply walked slowly, waiting to see if he would be recognized.
What was that sense of familiarity he was getting? He'd felt it before..

She skipped around a group of teenagers to look at the window display of a store for older women, blinking up at the dresses and bikinis that were already for sale even though it wasn't even summer yet. Ooh! She wanted one! ...Too bad she was too young. Oh well.
"Maybe I can ask Momma to get it for me for...the future!" She mused with a bright smile, clapping her hands excitedly and turning around to see if there were any stores in the immediate area for a girl her age. However, something else caught her eye. Was that daddy? It certainly felt like someone she knew. Kea blinked and hurried through a crowd to see if the big wings she'd seen were really the purple wings of her daddy...oh wait...these were big, blue and SPARKLY! The succubus' black wings fluttered as she skidded to a halt in front of Donny, gasping a little at the sight.
Whooooa! He was pretty! Big blue eyes stared up at Donny in admiration for a couple moments, then she rubbed them and calmed down. They were violet when she opened them again. "Hi!"

When Donny realized that the girl had noticed him, he had looked away nonchalantly. He kept walking, though at a slowed pace as he looked around. He was about to steal a glance to see if the girl was still looking, but before he could he heard a greeting chirped up at him. He stopped and looked down at the girl, smiling faintly. His brow furrowed as he finally got a good look at her; though the feeling of familiarity was still there, he could not place the face at all.
He parted his lips to speak, but said nothing- it was then that it finally hit him. He felt like a fool for not realizing it before; she was a Tale, of course she was. He knew that feeling anywhere. He was off his game for some reason.
His smile grew much more amiable as he looked down at Kea in understanding. "Hello little kindred. I don't think we've ever met before, have we?"
Now satisfied in the solved mystery, Donny was free to inspect the girl as he did anyone he met. She passed with flying colors, being indeed quite charming and lovely as she should be. This met with Donny's immediate approval, and Kea was quickly shuffled to the 'good' list in his mind.

Little kindred? She'd never been called that before. She played with a bit of hair that'd fallen over her shoulder, letting that part become blue like Donny's wings as she shook her head no. "Uh uh. I'd remember big pretty wings like those!" Kea complimented with a bright smile, admiring them for a moment before turning her attention back to Donny's face.
"My name's Keaira! What's your name?" Pretty much everyone was on Kea's good list at the moment, but she was still young so...that'd probably change eventually. "What'd you mean by kindred?" Well, she'd never heard the word before so she wasn't sure what it meant! Give her a break! Hm...Kea liked matching. She looked up at Donny's hair and ran her fingers through her own, changing it from whatever color it was before to wavy blonde with that single blue streak from before.

Donny flexed his wings, accidentally and unknowingly slapping an innocent woman in the face. Disregarding the 'hey!' in the background, he replied; "Adonis."
Somewhere in the distance victory music played in the background. Perhaps it came from a game store or the arcade. He didn't plan these moments, they just happen. I swear.
"It's nice to meet you Keaira. That's a lovely name." He bent down slightly, eyeing her hair. He hadn't noticed before, but her haircolor was the same shade of blonde as his; a fetching similarity. "To match a lovely girl." He added while thinking that. "And all Tales are kindred to me. I'm a Tale too." He winked, and added "Who is your writer?"

Kea blinked and watched the woman that'd been slapped, looking back up at the older boy when he gave her his name. He didn't even notice that he'd hit that woman? His wings were so large, it must've hurt! But enough about the woman...where had that music come from? What oddly perfect timing.
The girl giggled when her name was complimented. "Thank you! It's very nice to meet you too~!" She tilted her head a little when he bent down to a closer level, her hair fading into a bright bubble gum pink at the second compliment she was given. Her face wasn't blushing, just her hair. How cute. But he was a Tale too! Awesome! Kea smiled brightly and gasped, her hair changing from the bright pink to its natural black and purple. "Really? Wow! My mom, Eight, is my...uh...author!" That was weird to say. She'd never referred to her mother as her author.

Donny's smile remained placed perfectly on his lips until his mind caught up with what he'd seen. Her hair had gone from the perfect shade of blonde to .. pink. He blinked hard and stared for a second, before reaching up.
"Keaira.. your hair. It just turned pink." He tugged softly on a lock, half-expecting it to simply come falling off. What if the girl was sick?! Should they go to the doctor??
His worry was distracted by the mention of Eight. "Eight? I know someone named Eight. She's marrying my uncle Alex. Is that your Eight too?" He gasped when her hair darkened into black. Now he was sure she was ill!

"Pink? Oh...it does that." She frowned a little when her hair was gently tugged, not that it hurt it was just a little bothersome to have her hair pulled. Kea suddenly beamed proudly and turned a little to show him her two tails. "I can do it with my tails too!" She demonstrated this by changing them from their usual purple to a dark blue with white stars, turning back to face him again. "My eyes can change color too." She shrugged but didn't bother to change their color for him. He got the picture, right?
But the subject of her mother came up again...he knew her? And Daddy? Kea looked up at him with a look of surprise. "Your uncle Alex? That's my daddy~!" Eight wasn't a very common name, so they had to be talking about the same couple!

Donny's worry slowly faded as he took in this news. He watched her tails, and his lips turned up in a tight, wry smile. "That is quite a special gift." He pronounced, and stood up.
"So it is the same Eight. Let's see.." He held his hand out for Kea's, and if she took his, he would lead her into a slow walk as he worked the details out. "If your mother is marrying my uncle, that would make us.. a bit related, wouldn't it?" He smiled a charming smile down at her. "I wonder, if we had not met by chance today, perhaps we would never have known until the wedding day."
He tried to work the logistics of their relation, but couldn't quite remember how it worked when your cousin had a child. Although Donny called Alex his uncle, he was in truth his cousin - aka, his father's sister's son. And a cousin's child would.. still be a cousin, wouldn't it? He never could quite tell.
"Are you excited that your mother is getting married?"

Kea nodded, now golden ringlet curls bounced to give the nodding a bit more animation. "Thanks! I don't have the greatest control over it just yet, so...it's kinda hard if I'm trying to get out of trouble with my mom but my hair's sending other messages...you know what I mean?" At least she was learning how to control her abilities better.
When Adonis offered him her hand she smiled and took it, looking up at him as they walked and he talked. Wait...uncle? She'd just caught that. Kea blinked. "Yeah...Daddy has siblings?" Weird, you'd think that'd be something the family would know. Maybe Momma knew and just hadn't told them anything? That didn't seem very fair! While Donny was busy pondering what they were to each other Kea was wondering why no one had mentioned Alex having any siblings.
Huh? Donny was talking again? Oops. Kea smiled and nodded again, her wings fluttering excitedly. "Uh huh! Daddy makes her reeeeally happy, so I can't wait for them to get married. I actually came here with my sister to find a dress to wear for it." But so far all she'd found was a very shiny cousin to keep her company.

"Ah." Donny pressed his finger against his lips as he thought over the prospect of mood-changed attributes. "I suppose it's a bit like blushing. Only much more obvious." He smiled and reached down to tap her cheek softly as he said this.
He let out a breath of a chuckle at the confusion he had caused, and shook his head. "No, your daddy has a mother. And that woman is my father's sister. I suppose that doesn't make Uncle Alex my uncle at all, but that's what we call him, regardless. He was, after all, a grown up while I was still a child." He shrugged. "It's a bit confusing, I suppose."
His thoughts drifted for a moment as he pondered it, as well as Kea's final explanation of her presence. A dress, how lovely. He hadn't thought to go shopping for an outfit for the wedding, assuming as usual that his mother would have probably handled such frivolities. He was never much help when it came to clothing, preferring simply to wear the most comfortable of fashions, rather than trendy. He just assumed everything looked good on him. Even togas.
After a few moments, his thoughts returned to Kea. "Oh, my apologies. Should I leave you to find your dress? I didn't mean to steal you away from your shopping trip."

"I guess. It keeps me honest too!" Kea giggled when her cheek was tapped, closing the eye on that side and looking up at him with a smile.
His explanation made a lot more sense to her now. "That makes sense." Surely she would've known if she had uncles and aunts. Hey wait...father's sister...wasn't Grandma Lani's brother married to Enoh? Kea gasped and hopped a little bit as they walked, grinning widely as her wings fluttered with excitement. "Are you Vidya's brother?" Um...looks like the puzzle is finished? It wasn't so confusing if they really thought about it; regardless of if her daddy was his uncle or his cousin that still made them cousins, so that's all that really mattered, right? Nobody cared about the details~
"Hm? Oh! No, it's okay! It's not like I have to meet anyone." Except for the older sister she's obviously forgotten she came with. No big! She'll remember later when it's most inconvenient, that's how the world works after all. Kea paused to look around for a moment, her hair fading into a dull shade of green. "Ummm you could come if you want! Or we could find something more fun to do!" Seriously, she isn't going to pass up the opportunity to hang out with someone new in favor of just going dress shopping. ...But oh man did she love trying on new clothes.

Donny's eyes lit up at the mention of Vidya. "So you know my sister as well? Why haven't we met before, I wonder? It seems we're too connected for such an absence of acquaintance to have occurred." He shook his head slowly, stilling at the mention of coming with her to shop for a dress. Conflicting emotions warred in his eyes, and his brow furrowed.
"I'm not sure.. it might seem odd for me to accompany you on that endeavor. Though, we are sort of related.. but still. People might talk." He chuckled and tapped her nose with his hand. "Perhaps instead, I will make an effort to come visit my Uncle Alex one day soon, and you can show me what you've purchased then. Fair enough?"
He gave the mall a quick glance, and frowned. "Besides, I have a bit of shopping to do myself. Although somehow I doubt I'll find anything suitable in this place.. it doesn't seem like it has a men's store with the right kind of.. flair." Men's stores all looked so boring! He did see a leather store on the second floor, but the woman who worked there looked venomous. Besides, leather chapped. He much preferred the flowy over the tight and sticky.
