So I was thinking: In a werewolf pack, the title 'Ulfrick' means 'king', and 'Lupa' means queen. However, it doesn't mean the same as say, Namir Raj and Namir Ra. The Ulfrick is the alpha male, and the Lupa is his girlfriend. There doesn't seem to be any other way to put it. It was mentioned in one of the books that women don't usually rise very high in the pack, so I guess this has never been an issue. But what would you call a female Ulfrick and her boyfriend? I don't think the poor guy would take kindly to being called 'Lupa', and she'd get pissed at being mistaken for a guy. Thoughts?

I think it would take one tough chick to become the head of a pack, I think that everone would know that she was a woman. Also, her boyfriend would eather be her second (i.e-powerfull) or he would be a sitting at her feet (i.e-submissive). So the way I look at it he would not need a name, because he would already have one, or not care about one. As for her, I think she would be fine with Ulfrick. She fought for her crown, why treat her differently?
(and there is my rant for the day)

I have a question... because I am a total nerd who writes fanfiction... ::cough:: what are the rank names for the Lions and Foxes? I've looked it up, and it doesn't seem that she's said anything other than Lex for the Lions.

Hmm..I have to disagree. While it is very possible for a female werewolf wo be strong enough to take out the leader, and rule the pack herself, I highly doubt she'd be called Ulfric. All of the titles are based off of different persons in mythology so Ulfric is more than just a title of "ruler/leader". It relates the were to that particular man in mythology who happened to rule. There's probably a female ruler SOMEWHERE in the same myths, so this hypothetical woman would most likely get that title, her mate then getting his corresponding title.
*sticks her nose back in her book*

Though I don't think Ulfric was based on someone in history if I remember the books correctly so a woman would probably still be called Ulfric. Lupa is though based on someone in mythology so a woman Ulfric's mate probably is called something else.
