"Yenno, since you look a bit zombieish, you'd warn me if the zombies moved to land, right?" Taavi said, letting the baby examine the grass as he sat on a bench nearby.
Cal looked over his shoulder at the man, soundless, before going back to his examination of the grass. He pulled up a few blades, then crawled over to examine a headstone. His thin fingers traced the grooves in it, staring with that blank stare of his.
For future reference, Taavi. Might not be smart to have the corpse baby in a cemetery.

Aishe Grastari was whistling cheerfully, shovel in one hand, propped on her shoulder, Nicolae in the other arm, also against her shoulder, head bopping as he peered around the graveyard. What was the gypsy here for? Probably something illegal, that Jaelle, her sister, and the proper caretaker of Nicu, would disagree with.
She walked around a large tomb to stare at Taavi, instantly hiding the shovel awkwardly behind her back. "Hey... There...." Blink, blinkblink.... Was that a... Yes. It was a ******** baby, poking at a headstone. Huh. Maybe this guy WOULDN'T report her, then.
Almost like her was a cat or some other small animal, Aishe deposited Nicu in the grass by the back of his shirt, letting the baby crawl immediately to Cal. Stopping extremely close to the other babe, he just stared, red eyes wide before a huge grin appeared on his face.
Little freaks.

Taavi looked up, taking in the shovel and her appearance. Eh. S'long as she wasn't going to set zombies on him, he was fine. "Evening." He nodded, smiling. "I'd question, but I'm pretty attached to my internal organs."
Cal turned his head slowly, blinking at the new arrival. Hrm. Interesting. This was a new color. And had strange ears. He watched Nico for a bit, stroking the stone. What to do.. What to do...

Aishe grinned. That was a brilliant answer. She was quite a cute little thing, really. 5'6" with chin-length black hair, green blue eyes and freckles. Twenty-two years old. "G'evening, then. I'm Aishe." She held out the hand that was minus a shovel to shake his before taking a seat on the grass, shovel across her lap. "I just came t'get some... Ingredients. Unfortunately I got saddled with my sister's 'sin' kid. Weird baby, but cute."
She jerked a thumb at a tombstone. "I figure since I'm stoppin' them from comin' back unpleasantly, so there isn't anythin' much wrong with borrowin' a few."
Nicolae, interested in the methodical movements of the pale baby also held out a hand, slowly running his fingertips along the stone. It felt cool. Textured. "Awwo" was his greeting. "Nihcuuuuu" was his name.

Taavi gave her a little two fingered salute. "I'm Taavi. The little one is Cal." He shot a look towards the babies, and once he was convinced that the new child wasn't going to wail on his own easily bruised little beast he returned to the conversation. "Mmm. Makes sense to me. It's not like they'll miss anything."
Cal's head tipped slightly at the greeting. Speech. Unexpected! He pet the stone again before pulling his hand back, giving Nico a wave. Cal was not one for noise.

"Right-o, sir! I like th' way you think!" After a few minutes of silence, the gypsy got to her feet, grinning a bit. "So, I'll be back in a few, can ya watch th' boy for me? Thanks!" And she was off.
Ah, a response! Nicu liked those. He hadn't met many children that weren't a part of the clan, yet. Cal's weird appearance didn't exactly throw him off, either. He looked like some of the cryptic drawings on auntie Aishe's tarot cards! The red-eyed babe was more a fan of touching than of speaking, though, and reached out to pet at Cal's pale, strange hair.
This was potentially bad.

Taavi had waved at the woman. "Good luck!" He called after, turning back to the children. Oh, great. Touching.
Cal's eyes got even wider at the touch, pulling back slightly. Well, it wasn't a poke, and he wasn't cold... So... Cal reached out to touch one of the swirls on Nicu's cheek. It was an equal trade. A touch for a touch!

Nicolae was actually completely groovy with touching. The swirls on his cheek were slightly more sensitive than the rest of the skin on his face, and since Cal was being gentle, if felt good. The bald babe leaned into the touch, making a pleased gurgle sound.
No screams from skullbaby? Gyspybaby was doing quite well!

Oh, yes. He was. Cal blinked softly, giving a little smile at happy noises. That was nice. He patted the top of Nico's poor bald head lightly. How weird, not to have hair! How curious.
Even if Cal wasn't fond of being touched, he liked to explore and learn new things. And Nico hadn't hurt him, and he wasn't cold, so perhaps this touching was okay.

A favorite game of Sin'aeis children in general was the one of 'touch whatever weird thing I don't have that you do' and both Cal and Nicu seemed to be enjoying that. The bald baby really enjoyed being touched and stroked, anyway. Nicolae moved his slightly feather/fluffy ears, red eyes just now noticing the disappearance of his auntie.
Tears began to well up in his big eyes. Uh oh.

Cal looked around and saw that the lady was gone. How sad. He gently patted Nico's cheek. That's what you did when people were sad, right? Nice pats?
"Don't worry." Taavi said, moving to the ground nearby. "She just went away for a minute." Ah, babies. How out of practice he was with keeping them.

Nicolae had been soothed by Cal's gentle touches, but at the confirmation of her disappearance by Taavi, he was reminded of his horrible predicament and opened his mouth to wail.... Only to be cut off by a chipper voice as Aishe returned with dirty arms, a full cloth sack, and a dirty shovel.
"Nicu, Nicu, Nicu, dry that face!" The young woman bent to rub his bald little head, leaving a dirt smear or two, and grinned at Taavi. "They seem to like each other. Want my number?"

Taavi nodded. "That would be good. The last infant we ran into didn't get along with him nearly as well."
Cal stared up at the new lady, eyes large. Hello. He patted Nico again before shifting slightly away from Aishe. New big people usually liked to touch.

"Yeaaah, well, Nicolae's a freak too, that probably helps." Digging in her pocket she found a grocery store receipt and a pen to scribble her number down on. "Now, y'can set up a playdate whether I answer, or my big sister, Jaelle. If it's her, say you met us someplace nice, like a kiddy park or something, alright, buddy?"
Aishe was in no hurry to touch the skeleton kid. She wasn't freaked out by him, it was more like she wasn't the most affectionate of sorts. Or, rather, she wasn't very affectionate to those not in the clan. Instead she picked up Nicu the same way she'd put him down [by the back of his shirt], leaving the little fellow to wave somewhat wildly at Cal.
"Well, I gotta get these things iced while they're somewhat fresh. Nice to meetcha, Taavi."
