Tetemeko was not sure why he was wandering so far from home that afternoon, but he felt a great draw towards the borders. There was a reason, but he wasn't sure he knew exactly what it was- he certainly couldn't think of it no matter how he tired, but he figured there couldn't be any harm in going and taking a look for himself. He hadn't been in the best of moods since meeting his mother, half upset at her for daring to show up and half worried about keeping her visit a secret from his father. But he was hardly going to tell him that, Kubwa was better off not knowing. It was this calm and uncertain feeling that made it easier for him to give in and just go for a walk, if that was what he felt he should do.

No harm in that. Right?

Aadil wobbled slowly, dazed not only from the encounter that left her in this state, but for the encounter with the young male who had made the old light brown lioness feel young again, if only for a moment. her dark chocolate pelt was matted with dried blood and the formation of scabs was just starting to set in on her multiple wounds. The attack had be swift and brutal for the most part she only remembered blurs, it was lion she did not recognize and one that she assumed was not a part of the pride.

She drug her left hind leg slowly making a “sssss” sound in the grass as she moved, home, I’m going home she thought, home to my loving mate, and how he’ll hate me if he finds out about the lovely little Riko, how I have shamed my family. She debated turning back, but she was so close to safety and she was so hungry, she needed food and her family to comfort her. Panting she continued her strenuous drag towards a place she felt she was no longer welcome.

By chance, Tete looked up in time to notice something was moving his way. Squinting his dark eyes, he wasn't sure who he was seeing at first though he did realize it was familiar. It took only a couple seconds staring to realize it was his grandmother, who'd been missing for a quite some time now- though they mostly figured she was off on her own desire. Tete was sure she'd be back, though he'd been a little worried at first.

"Gram!" he exclaimed inwardly, and jogged up to meet her. He wasn't much closer when he realized something was wrong, stumbling a couple steps. He stumbled forward and picked up the pace this time to catch up with her quicker.

She slowed her pace the pain in her leg causing a slight yelp and her blue eyes opened wide to see something unexpected, Tetemeko, the grandson that never should have existed. She hated that her son had gone off with a tramp gotten her pregnant and brought the boy back, but she loved him all the same. She felt bad suddenly realizing that she'd done something of the same thing, ad prayed to the gods Mvumo spoke of, the ones that brought rain that she would not have little ones to bring out of this mess.

Taking too long to respond she looked up seeing her pale grandson, "Tetemeko," she panted, "What're you doing so far away from our home?" She did not see the irony in this question, she knew Kubwa would worry.

"Gram!" he called out again just as he got within several feet of her, skidding to a stop as he hesitated over how to handle this situation. She was hurt and in pain, but he didn't want to cause her more pain by trying to help her, giving her someone to lean upon. He realized that was hardly worth the worry at this point, especially when she didn't really say anything to his at first. He hopped over to her side and gently rubbed against her to encourage her to use him for support.

"That's hardly important right now, Gram!" he said somewhere between concerned and frustrated, "What happened?"

She let out a groan as he rubbed against, her no matter how gentle he was she felt sore all over. She tried to straighten out and taking his hint she leaned her chocolate pelt against his white one and closed her eyes, "It's important to me dear, is everything alright?" she purred the best she could trying to stay upbeat, no grandmother wants to seem weak in front of her grandchild, or need help like this.

"I was attacked by someone, or thing, I'm not sure it hap-happened so fast, I am glad you are here, Tete, you have good timing." She nuzzled her ace against his shoulder as she leaned, "Help your old Grams home?"

Tete hardly felt saying he wasn't sure why he was here but he'd just came here would go over well, and he had to fight back a shrug because he knew that would only hurt her- especially after she flinched at his touch. Hopefully when she leaned against him it wouldn't be so bad since she was doing it to herself.

"I just went for a walk," he told the half truth, and then barely stifled a growl when she described what happened however vaguely and was that much happier to know he'd come by at just the right time.

"Of course I'll help," he breathed, gently nuzzling against the grandmother he was now quite a bit bigger than and taking a slow step forward to test how quickly she might move, wanting her to set their pace.

The pace was going to be grueling slow, as she stepped forward and panted a response at the same time, "Rogue lands are dangerous my little love, well bit love now, how perfect you are." she spoke quietly, "There will be a time for getting angry, now is not the time."

How she was wrong about her grandson, and this thought did not come because she was grateful he showed up to help her, she should never have wished Kubwa gave him up, he was her blood, and he was a good boy.

"You know, I've already asked your aunts," she murmured as she walked slowly beside him trying to make this more enjoyable for him, "Do you know how to hunt?" She was going to ask if any great grandcubs would be had in her life time, she felt like being a grandma to large litter, perhaps even a great grandma weeks prior to her disappearance but her wounds made her question her own mortality, she was aging, and wounds do not heal quickly.

Tetemeko wasn't so used to hearing compliments from his grandmother, though he loved her and knew she loved him. He'd just always felt like a problem, and now that he was older he had some understanding of why and it was no question that she cared for him despite everything. He cut off his growl, but for a moment his throat still rumbled silently. It was surprising when she suddenly felt the need to ask him if he knew how to hunt, giving him the same concern and attention she gave Shani and Ghali. Had they not been in such a bad situation, it would have been the exact situation someone might have asked if the other was dying.

"Somewhat," he answered, deciding to go along with some conversation while they made the rather long (at this pace) walk back home, "I'm not too great a it, but that's what groups are for, I suppose."

She winced now and again as her leg would thump against a rock, it was broken in a fewplaces and over time would heal, but would never be able to be fully functional again, she had been so exhausted from coming home that it was hard to stop and clean her wounds properly she had grown accustom to her own smell, a smell of blood, earth, and a smell she'd never had the displeasure of breathing it, the only thing she could liken it to was when a lioness got a chest cold in the cold months and coughed green.

"Long before you were a twinkle in your father's eyes your grandma and her mother, your great grandmother lived alone, and we had a very hard time hunting, in fact you grandpa taught me proper," she babbled on trying to take her mind from the pain, "then we joined the pride, and of course you see I don't hunt much anymore, but it's a skill to know, just in case."

She looked up at her large young grandson and smiled he was a looker, she wondered why females didn't come by the den often to see him.

Every time Aadil winced, Tete had to fight back a wince of his own. He didn't even want to imagine what was going to happen when he did get home, it would be disastrous- there would be an uproar, a panic. Especially if no one could figure out who did this, he could just imagine the reaction of Ghali in particular. Hopefully everyone would be wise enough not to cause Gram any more stress, he'd make sure of it if he had to.

"Really?" he asked for lack of a better comment when she mentioned that Mvumo had taught her how to hunt, smiling a little bit and nodding carefully when she said it was an important skill, "If you want to be provided for, you should be able to help out even a little. It's how a pride works so well." He smiled at her, though it wasn't easy to see her like that.

She beamed with pride the best she could, "Your daddy did right by you, you're so very smart!" she complimented him and held back another wince. He was the last one she wanted to see her like this, the last one he would want to know she was hurting, and especially to have to help her like this, she groaned inwardly.

"Yes, really, and one day you'll teach someone you love dear to hunt, or take them hunting with a mate."

"We'll be there soon, I'd like to see your aunts first...just so I can break the news to them, then hopefully your father and uncle, everyone..I wish it wasn't like this..I wish I would have never wandered off."

Tete smiled sheepishly at the comment about his father, recalling the meeting with his mother. He wasn't sure why he was reminded, perhaps because his father had been accused of raising him improperly at the time. It was good to hear the words directly from his grandmother though, for every time he'd felt like he was only trouble he was sure it had hurt his father just as much as it hurt him.

"Maybe," he murmured, thinking immediately of Sineri when she mentioned someone he loved, though that was hardly something he really expected or wanted to express. He'd had to admit to himself he did like her, though. Clearing this throat, he smiled at Aadil.

When she said she wanted to speak to Shani and Ghali first, he was a bit surprised and worried.

"Are you sure, gram?" he asked, "I can talk to them before they see you, it might be better-" Tete cut himself off, he didn't really want to say everyone would be so worried and angry, he didn't even want to say everyone had been worried already. He wanted to help, not cause more harm.

"Not a maybe, I promise," her eyes twinkled wit the mischief she caused in her youth, her mind was still sharp but her body was lagging behind it, and now with the attack, well the world would see how this played out.

"I'm never sure of much of anything, love, perhaps fate will decide for us who knows who we will see before who," she said quietly and closed her eyes still walking at the slow pace, she felt awful and wanted her mate, but also felt that she could never look her mate in the eyes again. Perhaps..well if fate had a hand in any of this there would be no planning, but perhaps she could tell him a lie, no truth was needed to come of this.

"your aunts are strong, your uncle and father just as, they will all take it differently, and yes here will be crying, anger, and emotion, but I am fine they will see I am fine and I will tell them all I can."

Tete smiled as best he could at Aadil when she promised he'd get to teach someone else to hunt, it wasn't something he'd given too much thought to himself but it wasn't something he would directly oppose if it ever happened. He sighed a bit when she decided it was up to fate whether or not they saw everyone in the order she mentioned.

"I'll make sure it's how you want it," he muttered, and was a little worried when she didn't hesitate to mention exactly how things would play out. She knew it, he knew it, anyone would know it. This wasn't going to be happy, but she was back now. She was back and she was safe again.
