"I have come to say good bye, for I have to leave."

"No, but I love you!" the boy yelled, clenching on to the larger one's wrist.

"Let GO." he thundered, flinging the boy from him. "I killed him. I killed Adonis..." tears now filtered down his cheeks. "I'm not stable anymore, I have his blood in me. I need to go, to keep you safe. You know I love you." he said in a soft voice, that was the man the young boy once knew.

The young boy shook his head gripping onto his waist and clutching tight. "Please don't leave..." he begged." Please don't go! I need you, I need you so bad!" he begged.

And just as Adonis had done to the vampire, Vincent, he decided to bring it upon the other mortal boy oh so pleading him to stay.

"If you would die for me...." Vincent whispered, brushing his lips along the boys neck. The boy tripped back and fell on the bed. Vincent could've bit him right then. he could've turned him, but he didn't. He wasn't Vincent. He was Adonis. And Adonis had other plans for this sort of situation...

Vincent pressed their lips together but the boy fought back. "G-get off of me, you b-b*****d..." he stuttered out, trying to push away. But Vincent had the better of him, scraping his long black fingernails down his chest leaving large gashes. But whatever the boy received, the person who gave it received as well. Vincent could feel his chest bleed like the boy's, which only made him angrier.

He tied him up and took off his clothes.... and raped him.

Then just as he prayed Vincent would kill him, he didn't

The young boy stayed in the mental health ward of the hospital for weeks on end. Only his best friend and mother knew how had raped him. he wouldn't talk, wouldn't eat and wouldn't do anything. He wouldn't even tell his own brother what had happened. Withdrawn into himself on how someone he loved so much could do such a horrid thing.

Present day
Vincent was back. 4 years later and Vincent was back. He wanted the boy back too. There was nothing the boy could do either. Just as he had started to move on, Vincent came back from the war against the Harpy's. Harpy's were creatures vampires couldn't drink from, They were evil, technically.

The boy is confused. Should he take Vincent back? Or move on to Sloane, the bassist in his brother's band with the cute glasses? Should he go with the one he once loved, or the one he just met?

Character info

Holden-open-Holden's earliest memories are of arriving at a church, where he was taken in by the priest there, Tobias, and his adopted son Dominick when he was 10. He doesn't remember how he came to be there, where he'd been beforehand, or what happened to cause his amnesia. He chose to stay at the church under Tobias' care, and became good friends with Dominick.

After narrowly escaping a Cerberus that chased him away from the church, Holden came to live with a woman and her son, who had also been attacked by the demon. Currently, Holden and his adopted brother Caine both attend university in a nearby city, away from their mother's home. Prior to university, Holden was rather friendly and outspoken like his brother, but due to traumatic events the summer before he began school, he is now much more reserved and careful about who he lets approach him. Due to his recovery from a mental hospital after that summer, he is a year behind in his studies.

Holden has two curious abilities that no one can figure out the sources of: the ability to sexually attract people like white on rice, and the ability to reflect physical pain on others.

Vincent-taken- killxmexlater Vincent was a relatively happy, well-adjusted young man, until the vampire Adonis decided he wanted him as his pet. After being turned and living this way for a few months, he still hadn't taken very well to losing his humanity, and he became deeply depressed. However, during a hunt, he met Holden and immediately felt attracted to him. Holden gave him a reason to sever himself from Adonis, and the goal of re-attaining his humanity.

Due to a strange accident, his own instability, and the tricky mechanics of vampirism, Vincent now resides inside his own mind, while the abusive impulses of Adonis control his words and actions. He fights to bring a sort of balance between the two consciousnesses. Meanwhile, he is determined to do anything to get Holden back -- even if it means forcing him to become a vampire as well.

Azriel-taken-The shika spazz-Azriel met Holden and Caine when she and Holden were both starting high school. Initially, she was drawn to the pretty-boy, but settled for being his friend when it was made clear he liked other pretty-boys. ^_^; She still felt the need to stick with him, and the three of them became friends rather easily. Currently, she lives in the city in which they attend university, and her house serves as a sort of base of operations.

Due to the fact that his single mother had to work, and Caine had no idea how to handle it when Holden later ended up in the hospital, Azriel was left to stay with him. When Holden did eventually come back to awareness, she kept very careful watch over him and his brief periods of suicidal tendencies, until he was more or less back to his old self. Even now, she worries over him out of habit.

Az is rather carefree, good-natured, and mock-fights with her sister a lot, but she also gets jealous easily and hates Vincent with a burning passion, though she tries not to express that in Holden's presence.

Caineopen- Known mostly to proclaim his own sexiness at random and often inappropriate times, Caine is not quite the ditz he seems. He only takes it upon himself to be serious at the times when it's really needed -- his philosophy is that everyone else is serious enough all other times to make up for him. As a result, people tend to be surprised when he drops the clueless act, and he can be almost scary when truly angry. It's kinda reassuring to know that the cluelessness isn't entirely an act. ^^;; *pets him*

He lost his left eye after being attacked by a demi-cerberus, the same one that tried to kill Holden, and this left him with a disabling phobia of dogs. Caine also took it upon himself at a very young age to protect his adopted brother, something he still takes very seriously, but is starting to let go of a bit. He's a very loyal and true friend, if you can handle him when he's hyped up on coffee and decides he's proud of his boxers.

Sloane-taken- [toxic][toothpaste]-Sloane is the bassist in Caine's band, and is a very soft-spoken and kind-hearted person. The kind that is embarrassed easily and buys lemonade from little kids and moves caterpillars off the sidewalk. You know the type. He's sort of the voice of reason between Caine's outbursts and Harper's...stoic unpredictability. (I can't think of any other way to describe it.)

Of course, this wouldn't be Arcana if there was a happy character at this point, but Sloane is as close as there is so far. Sloane's purpose comes a little later in the story, and it's probably best not to go into it, but Kisoka finds a use for him. There you have it. Possibly the most stable character, aside from maybe Azriel's
sister, who doesn't really count.

Adonis-open-Adonis wasn't much more than a cruel, lustful vampire when he began stalking Vincent, purely for amusement. He enjoyed watching Vincent suffer so much that he decided to turn him and keep him around for a while longer. He was abusive and careless, and attempted to inflict as much emotional torment as possible upon his "playthings" -- lesser, weaker, often 'newborn' vampires he kept around as a sort of harem. Vincent was his favorite among them, and he was so lost in his depression that Adonis simply never thought him even capable of retaliating. He's paying the price for that mistake.
