Nipping back playfully she gave one last look, and nudged kojo awake, telling him what exactly they were going to be off to do, and telling the others to relax, fish, do what they would and that they would be back in an hour or two.
Taking off at a playful trot, Nadine swatted at Ash occassionally and took off forward. The path they were taking was the exact one in her dream. She need not even look where they were going hardly to follow it.
"Oh i can't wait to settle down. We may want to bring a few more Lions in... maybe make some trips to the watering hole every once in a while. And who knows! there may be lions here in this very wood..." The Lioness trailed off excitedly, dreaming of the days to come.

Ash laughed gleefully as he took off running after Nadine. "I can't wait either." he said as he caught up with her and slowed his pace to keep besinde her. "Going to the water hole would be a good idea. See if any new lions show up." He said as he jumped over a large tree root that was in the middle of the path. His agility had gotten better since first meeting Nadine. He didn't like making a fool of himself in front of her. He chucked to himself as he remembered the first day he had met. "We'll have to be careful. We won't know if the lions, if there are any, around here are friendly towards strangers or not."

Frowning a bit, Nadine nodded her head. "This is true. I still though, don't think i'd have had the dream if there were danger about. I swear to you it is Zahina blessing our way. " Giggling, she kicked a rock a little bit ahead of them. " Of course, your mate could also be losing her mind." She said smoothly.

Ash laughed playfully. "I'd go with that one." He said as he nipped at her tail.
"You're probably right though. Even if there is danger...we'll be able to hold our own." He nodded as he smiled at her. "So you know exactly where we're going?" His thoughts wondered instantly to a large cave all their own. Privacy. Just the two of them. At least 'til they decided to have kids. He smiled at the thought and looked at Nadine. While he was distracted the neared a large bush that had grown out into the path. Not seeing it...Ash didn't slow down. All of a sudden his limbs were tangled up in the leafy plant. He sighed as he looked around. "I just can't win." He said as he started laughing at himself.

Nadine was just about to explain how she could probably find it with her eyes closed, when she watched just as he walked right into the bush. Limbs flailing, Nadine busted into laughter before even considering to help. Hardly being able to stop, she began pulling at the branches, trying to move the larger ones or break them off so he could get out.
"If our cubs are half as clumsy as you, we're going to have a handful!" Nadine laughed, finally getting her lover out of the mess he'd walked himself into. Nipping at a twig stuck in his mane, her face was very close to his. The laughter suddenly gone, filled with a tension she'd not quite felt before. Shaking it away with her head after a moment, she stood back, laughing at his now disheveled look.
" Well, like i was about to say," she continued down the path," Is that i could probably make this walk in my sleep... it's like it's been imprinted in me. We'll get there in less the time it would take a song bird to sing through it's whole song." Sniffing the air, she smelled no danger, but thought that to be safe, they might want to be more on guard... just in case.

Ash huffed out a frustrated sigh as he finally managed to get completely loose of the bush. "I swear. My own feet are going to be the death of me." He said as he started laughing again. His laughter died as she mentioned cubs. Their cubs. She couldn't be...no, he thought. It was too soon. Shaking the thought out of his head he smiled as she pulled away from him. "Thanks." He said lovingly.
"Really?" Ash trusted his mate completely but was still amazed by her statement. He didn't meet many lions that could boast about being able to do that. He smiled, extremely proud of his mate and how intelligent she was. He trotted up beside her, leaning in close to her side. His ears were perked up to sense danger if it came near them.

Just as Nadine said, they were at the valley leading up to where the caves should be in a hundred paces. Looking around, she saw no tracks of animals, and with a slightly uneasy look toward Ash, they went up single file through the canyon, it's narrowness giving her a feeling that if they ever had to defend this place, it would be only too easy.
Cresting the top, she gave a sharp intake of breath. It was just as she'd dreamed! There were caves everywhere. It was as if the mountain was nothing but caves. Turning to Ash she smiled. "See! I told you!" Nipping at his ear and nearly frolicking to the nearest cave she paused at the entrance to sniff inside. Only the smell of cool shelter and dust came to her nostrils, and she poked along inside. It was large, with a smaller cave leading off to the side that would do well as a sleeping area.
" Oh Ash! It's perfect! Have you ever seen a place like it? " She wandered into the little back area. "I don't see any sign anything has ever lived here..."

Ash gaped as they came upon the caves. There were a ton of cave entrances. More than he had ever imagined. He turned around to look out over the valley as Nadine made her way in. This would be the perfect place. He knew it. His eyes trailed to a pile of rocks that looked sturdy. They could even use that as a look out. He smiled as he turned his attention back towards the caves and made his way into the one that Nadine had trotted into. He slowed his walk, waiting for his eyes to adjust to the light difference. He didn't want to trip over anything else today.
Finally his eyes adjusted and fell onto a small opening at the side of the cave. He smiled as he heard Nadine's happy voice. He made his way through the opening in the side of the cave and came into a rather cozy looking den. "I don't smell any traces of other animals either." He said as he rubbed up against her side, purring lowing in his throat.

Pawing him in the shoulder and nipping at her ear, Nadine could scarce hide the excitement she had. It was a dream come true. It was more than that. It was home. It was a Pride. It was going to be family.... It was so many thing. Putting her head into his mane, smelling nothing but him, she withdrew and stared at him, with a sly smile. "I say we celebrate."
(( *que lights, Barry White music, and bubbly champagne* cause why not. ))
Laying there, tired but glowing, Nadine purred into Ash's side, trying to soak in his warmth, regardless of her own body temperature. So content were her purrs, that she scarce remembered the time, and that there were any responsibilities outside of this cave.

Ash laid on the soft dirt contently. Loving the feel of the heat coming off of Nadine's body. Everything was perfect. He couldn't wait to share their new home with the rest of the lions. He sighed at that thought. He didn't want to leave yet. He liked the privacy he was having with Nadine. However, they had responsibilities other than themselves now. "So.." He said quietly. "When are we going to go back and tell the others?" He asked her as he yawned slightly.

Nadine heaved an extremely large sigh, sending dust flying against the cave wall. " I suppose we should be going now... They're wanting to go around picking their own caves undoubtedly. Plus there's the getting here." Lacking the will to get up however, she lay there another moment, basking at what could be their last truly private moment for a while. That moment being over she got to her feet grumpily, or atleast as grumpy as she could be under the circumstances. Walking to the edge of the cave, She scraped the ground a bunch of times, leaving distinctive scratch marks. "At least we got to claim one first." She gave with a grin.
And with that, she stepped back out into the sunlight.

"There'll be plenty of caves to choose from....and plenty of room to grow." He smiled wide as he said the last bit. Rising up he lazily stretched out his front paws as a low roar came from deep in his throat, sending echoes through out the caves. He made his way over to Nadine and rubbed up against the edge of the cave opening, leaving his scent on the wall. Slowly, he made his own way back into the sunlight. He squinted as the harsh light bore down onto his now light sensitive eyes. The wind blew fresh air through his mane as he stepped towards the edge of the large rock that served as a platform of their new home.

Staring at him standing there, she smiled to herself. It was picture perfect, and felt to fit. She knew this was home, and would be forever. Giving him his moment, she then walked up next to him, brushing his shoulder and looking out over the scenery. If she squinted, she could almost see the plains on the horizon. It made her smile, and she was happy to have this wonderful place. Breathing in that fresh wind, she nudged him silently with her muzzle and turned back toward the path leading down, ready to make the journey back to the pride.

Ash sighed happily and turned to follow Nadine back down the narrow path. Back to the small pride that was their family. All kinds of thoughts were running through his head. One of which was about kids. He wondered if he'd be a good father. He knew Nadine would be the perfect mother.
