Hey All HPM Members!!! This is Risika, and I'm just posting to let you know, that I have did a majorly needed overhall on the guild. Check out the titles of our subforums, they have been changed, and hopefully will once again be used.
Also, for those in positions of power here, if you see an announcement in the subs, and you feel it needs to be spiffied, re-written, or added to, go for it. Those were just things to get the ball rolling. ^_^.
Now onto other news, I'm going to be sending out a news letter to all our current members, and hopefully we will get some of them back. They will get a month to post here, and if by the end of the month, we still see no activity from them, I will be removing them from the members list. SO! If you have friends on the list, that you don't feel deserves to be blipped, get them to become active again PLEASE!!! A Ghost member will not help our activity. ALSO, from now on, if your in the guild, you MUST have the mule on your friends list. I will also be going and adding/deleting people from that too.
Have a wonderful day HPM, I love you!

I have quite a mouthful on this.
- I enjoyed the pm, it was artistically done. Good job on that.
- The subforums have a grammatical error. "you're" = means "you are" in a sentence. The subforums need to be grammatically correct so you need to edit in "your" instead to connote possession instead of being.
- Most importantly, as for the "memorable" topics, this part doesn't exactly anger me, but it disappoints me a tad because while the topics in there are memorable- they only reflect Risika's interests. It just so happens that Risika was the one who deleted the old topics. They don't represent most of the active people in this guild that have contributed to this guild, which is kind of unfair especially for the non-staff members. Now I'm not saying that you had to save 15 pages worth of dead topics or anything because I understand that for a casual guild there is quite a bit of rubbish topics. But I could have sworn that there were more memorable threads than what you currently have up there, and it would have been nice that there was more representation of the contributions of the other guild members and not just Risika.
For example, there was the "New years" topics that we kept making every year, and at least a handful of other people threw in some colorful resolutions. I may have spear-headed the thing later on but I HAD to get the bright idea to dig up previous year topics and a concrete reminder of how much of a flop it was for all of us in the first place. ... but still fun. xd
But I know the new years topics aren't the only thing. I'm sure the others can speak for themselves what topics they would have wished were represented. There's at least a handful of people I can name off the bat, and at least a handful more that I can't off the top but I know they were a part of this guild. This action demonstrates that the most active members in this guild's contributions don't really matter when you boil down to it. An inactive or ghosting member might see that this action is a reflection of how the guild would consider them. It's a done deal now, unfortunately. I just felt like the point needed to be said since I realize that no action can be undone and to express a polite request that the staff members of this guild are more thoughtful and less biased next time.

grip, i do apologize if it seems that it was biased. it wasn't meant to be. I honestly didn't think that the New Years things was something to keep, and as I was cleaning out topics, I did just skim a lot of them, for that I do apologize. I should have asked ya'lls opinions on what topics to keep and what not to. And I'm sorry. But like you said, its not something I can go back and fix. It wasn't a way to forget ya'll, and if it seems that's what I did, I do apologize.
Thank You though for the compliment on the letter. ^_^ And thank you for hte grammer fix, I wrote those things at like...5 am in the morn half asleep (which might account for why a lot of topics got looked over and deleted.)

I trust your intentions, it's just that it is a rather disturbing image that since this guild was created on May 15, 2005, that the only *thing* to show for its entire history of 4 years is.... 9 topics. Mostly those started by Risika and Narren, honestly. I think I just had too high expectations that some more things would be saved so that I could dig around in the dead topics forum and re-remember more cool things about this guild's history, and more contributions from other members (not just myself).

Instead of slating Risika, have you thought about asking the other staff members? As Narren has said herself, we all make mistakes when we are half asleep.

I commend all of you for doing what you all think is your very best to make this a nice guild, a guild with a new direction and a new attraction especially for new people.
I'm not trying to incite drama, but I felt like I had a valid concern that was worth sharing and I am trying to express that very politely, where everyone can see it and address it. Though, Risika publically expressed that she is a leader of the project, which is why I mentioned her name. Whoever's names did this-and-that is not the crux of the issue- I could care less *who* did *what* when it comes down to it because in this situation it was trivial. The result of what happened is what was more important. I will not accept imposed guilt or grudges on my part for bringing it up at all, though. Everything that is done is already done and I am not debating *that* part. I just wanted to address that issue for future consideration- I just ask for a little more forethought on these things in the future, is all.
Yes, we're all prone to making mistakes when half-asleep. I know that staff members are human just like anyone else and can make mistakes. But if one is half-asleep or not physically functioning well, it's probably a good suggestion to *not* create any staff actions for future thought until one feels better.

I agree Grippy, but every other staff member has put their effort into this (more or less), not just Ris.

The leaders as a whole made a mistake. We apologize. Lets leave it be, and look at the bright side. We have new sub forums that will hopefully get used, we are slowly seeing old members come back, and once I get teh newsletter sent out, and know who is staying who is not, and the members to who it needs to be, I know i'm with hopefully some help, going to start advertising through out gaia and try to get some new members.
Purpose of our guild? We're a general guild, where people can come, make friends, have fun, without having to worry about seeing the nasty topics that are in the GD and chatterbox. ^_^

I wasn't able to put any input into this project due to the fact that I didn't know about it, nor have I been around enough to deserve any real input of my own in my own personal opinion. Though, I am going to try to change that. I've had ALOT of things in my life change. Especially with Gaia and how I percieve it to be at this point in my life. I'm getting to that burnt out point where it's just boring now for me. I do apologize for not being around. And I intend to change that as much as possible.
As for some members concerns and suggestions...in all honestly...what members? One of the main reasons why I haven't been around is because this guild has been so dead for so long. Yes, I realise already that this comment will probably piss off those of you whom have actually been posting. And I'm saying sorry already because there are a select few of you who have stuck through all of this. And we appreciate that more than anything else. Just so you know. wink
So in all honesty, Steph...you did a fantastic job of cleaning up the guild and with your pm. It's something I wanted to do myself for a long time. But never had the time to do so. The bottom line is, it's time for a fresh new start for HPM. It's something that should have been done a very long time ago. Period.
I certainly hope that these changes make at least a little difference. As I am sure that they will. Personally, I don't agree with our guild having no purpose. A general chat guild is just as prude as a spam guild. But that's my own personal opinion. Which of course not everyone agree's with. And that's ok. =) But my own thought is, I wish our Guild had a very strong purpose so that people are actually attracted to posting in it. What that purpose could be...I have no flippen clue. Again though, just my own thoughts.

Welp, I think that in order to have a purpose one must feel extra-ordinarily strong about something. Some issue. In order to make that work in a guild several someones must have that extra-ordinary strong feeling.
A cause, i.e; save the bottle neck dolphins! Although that example wouldn't work well here. Mike, Josh, and Matt would just ask for the mayonnaise. domokun

Mayonnaise? Blech.
Buffalo Sauce works best with Dolphins.
Even then, there's the matter of grilled or fried...
