This is an A-Z list of terms often used in the Nequus world. You can use it to reference any terms you might see used in RPs. It is very slowly being worked upon, and things will get added to it often, so check back whenever.

Prefixes and Suffixes

P
Mi: Placed before almost any suffix, it is used as an expression of 'my'. It isn't a normal 'my' because it lacks posession. It is more of a heartfelt expression. Examples are mihallah 'my prince' and mimila 'my child'. These are all very affectionate ways of stating a 'possession', while staying completely respectful. Think of it as a gentler alternative to the word 'my'.
Siry: A respectful term for any Nequus, this is used most frequently, and placed before a name. It is an acknowledgement of one another's status. This is much like a Ms. or Mr. and is most often used upon first meeting before one knows what honorary to place.

S
Aziri: A more widely used term for prince. It falls somewhere along the lines of a knight in shining armor. Miaziri means 'my savior'.
Biriew: A formal term used for older male Nequus not very well known. Nequus only cease using this after they've known another for some time.
Hallah: A term for a nobleman. It literally means 'prince', but can sometimes be used as an extremely honorary term similar to considering someone a lord, master, or herd leader.
Maira: This means 'heart's desire'. It is used between lovers and mates, and is an extremely affectionate term. It is considered bad form to use it without the consent of the other side first, there's a universal decision upon either side to start replacing the suffix with the general honoraries.
Mila: This is a term for 'young'. It is used behind the names of youth. Most often used by parents and rarely by siblings. Sometimes other relatives will use them as well, but not as frequently.
Niriture: A formal term for an elder female. This is only dropped after Nequus have known each other for a long time.
Riruy: What young children call their father. It's a phrase like papa, and is only used in private. While in public children use the more formal 'Trie'.
Trie: An honorable term for father. It is used by all members of a herd and or group of Nequus to distinguish a male who has children. Atrei is exceptionally honorary, for someone who has raised more than twenty children to adulthood.
Ute: The only term used for a mother. It is used by children, and members of the herds at all time. For what they go through, mother's are considered very special, and this name serves as an honor to them. Single fathers are sometimes given this title.
Waru: An affectionate term for sibling. There is no gender seperation here. The terms for brother and sister are used rarely, and only when speaking of them to another.

A

Aeri: The Nequus god of Night. He is believed to have dark skin and pale golden eyes. His head is clean shaven, and his appearance is gentle and sweet. The largest of all the Nequus breeds share his name, for they are said to most resemble is large robust physique.
Atticut: A year of recession. Though the Nequus lands never go through anything particularly menacing or killing, they do have their years where grass wealth does not grow as fiercely. It is said that during these times a few brown patches may even be seen in D'ob.

B

Bae: Stocky and gruff in nature, he was the Nequus god of life. He's most often associated with plants and fauna, rather than foals. He was a short god, but a beautiful one, with very robust features. He was known as the one that could get things done, and the earth flourished more greatly under his care. The Nequus named after him are said to possess his beauty and, sometimes, stubbornness.

C

Cititu: A Nequus word meaning tranquil or peaceful. It is often said alone, to describe a feeling of the world around them. If one asks how one is, and another responds Cititu, it means that all is going well and smoothly in their life.
Caeriu: The Nequus word for 'night', derived from the god of night, and their word for 'at peace'.

D

Dierna: A form of currency used by the water tribes of Yisi. They are a group of Nequus that have harvested the ways of the water and will take you on their floating contraptions for a price. It is said they marvel at the shells of the ocean and rare rocks found in Casa Tiners mountains.
Dirn: They're a peaceful folk, albeit a bit greedy. They live on in the waters of Yisi'Runesefern, treading it with their familiars and adapted tails. They are very much water lovers, and they are said to be derived from an ancient race of Reya. For a price they'll take you along the rivers of Yisi safely, allowing you a glimpse into the marshy wonderland most never even knew existed.
Drek: A term often used when a Nequus is in a rather smelly situation. It literally means 'feces', but it is an impolite and rude way of saying it, and so has mostly been reserved for upset at an event or action.
Nequus Proverb: He who walks too closely behind the mare will step in drek.
Drekhallah: This means, quite literally, 'prince of shits'. It's a horrible insult, and possibly one of the greatest ones a Nequus uses against another. It takes a highly revered concept and twists it with a vile curseword to degrade another Nequus. Don't call someone this unless you're sure a rear kicking was on your list of things to have done to you that day.

E

Elppas: A moderately sized fruit. It is very sweet and slighty crisp, much like that of an earth apple. Indeed, the name even sounds like apple when pronounced with a very heavy accent. Some Nequus have this phrase confused, but be assured that they are speaking of the elppa. The elppa's surface is very bumpy, but the texture is smooth. The fruit is blue inside and out, and will often stain the face or tongue of the eater.
