Katorai

Katorai, are the most common of the species that can almost resemble humans. The katorai were made several times from the Mana Goddess, saying that they are the blessed specie. At one time long ago, they were smaller creatures not even as tall as a human knee. Now they are a whooping 6ft tall? How ~ because the Mana Goddess when she awoke and realized that her precious blessed kind were dying and being eaten as the prey instead of the other way around. In hopes of them becoming predators. Now, as tall and almost human like, the katorai can now live without being the 'prey'.

Katorai are much like tribal or Indian 'humans'. Wearing Loin cloth to protect soft skin from exposure and to look 'decent' even if rumors spread that they don't have such 'equipment' to have children. Instead. Katorai can only have children by sharing blood with the Mana Goddess. If they chose to 'birth' physically. Depending on the spirit they pray to will accept or decline it, if accpepted they are allowed to give birth physically but run the HIGH risk of death for either the baby or the mother holding the child.

They are mostly elegant and can be very temperamental according to their surroundings. Some stay in Spira to greet selective humans for a 'homestay' for a limited time. Showing off their hospitality skills and never really showing any remorse for holding the lesser specie ' Xio ' as their slaves or house pets.

Katorai breed by mixing their blood in water domes under the mana tree. There are seasons that this may be done in which is likely to give offspring but other times the children can be still born if taking out too early. Offspring are housed in what can resemble cocoons underwater. Until they hit a certain maturity is when they sprout and can be taken home. Kind of like butterflies and bees.

+ Are as human as they get, walking with two legs and utilizing their hands for intricate stuff like weaving and such things with disposable thumbs.
+ Have a high self for two leggers. Anything with four legs are below them. [ Or so they think ]
+ Usually have a slave four legger in their home for basic chores or hard chores.
+ They are slower than Xio [ which are the four leggers ]
+ Quick reflexes; they can jump and climb out of danger in a pinch.

Xio

Rarely do Xio ever grow to adult hood. Mostly they are never even allowed in captivity to be raised to adulthood. At a first sign of an indication of a horn or spurt of growth they are sent to be killed in the dark woods. Some Xio are captured and put in to coliseums to fight each other and kill each other. Mostly treated as slaves and kept as house pets for the katorai, Mules if you will. Unless they hit adult stage and are able to rebel against their owners, therefore are slaughtered before the growth.

The skull on their heads are grown as an extension from the inner skull that is very delicate and therefore, to survive in the wild- the Mana Goddess granted them skulls to protect their heads. Thankfully, natural air and water are able to clean out between the skull. Some paint their outer skulls to distinguish packs and authority. Some even paint of what they have went through, like a tally of their failures and or achievements.

Adult Xio in the wild are very protective of their packs and fairly are able to protect their pack head on with Katorai at an adult level. Guardians over power Katorai in height and strength but are slower in speed because of their sheer size.

Guardians, are made when a blessed creature ( usually katorai ) or a selected specie infested with spiritual power from a certain elemental spirit sacrifices its powers to give to another selected Xio. Not all Xios get to make it to a Guardian stage. Some have only heard rumors while others are convinced that they must find 'Guardians' to lead them to salvation. The death rate of hitting a guardian stage is high because of the massive changes to the body that can cause something to rupture or tare usually leaving them immobile for quite a bit of time.

In the wild they usually travel in packs and are rarely alone because of survival against strong katorai. In packs, they have a stronger sense of protection and higher rate of survival.

Xio breed like normal animals except they have them in seasons and when these seasons arrive- no one knows for sure.

+ Usually laid back and have fondness for their own kind rather than other kinds.
+ If mated with another of its kind; they have litters. Like dogs.
+ If mated to a Katorai or other species they must have their children like if a katorai were to have children. By the Mana Goddess.
+ They have the dominant trait passed on.
+ Possessive of their things; protective

Libleyt Katorai

This is our uncommon breed of Katorai. They mostly resemble Butterflies and/or have insect-like wings. Also possess some trait of flora at times... And carry that trait, but its NOT the dominant trait. Libleyt usually are found deep in the forests and don't usually come out and let themselves be known. They are a quiet breed except when their are in their tree-houses; called Colonies. As far as Serenity; our little researcher- they seem to have different kingdoms.. but this is just a suspicion. <3 They are half the size of Katorai and can even be bred to be smaller. For pets and ways of transportation they can use anything from fireflies to xio [ as horses ].

+ Half the size of normal Katorai but some are recorded to be small enough to fit in your pocket.

Tryne

Tryne, are another uncommon species. These Katorai had been gifted and birthed in to Undine blood line. They have a series of looks.. and can even have mixed body parts of different sea creatures. Some have fins~ as others are mermaids. The Undine gene is very hidden though.. some may look it- others will not but still carry the trait. Their species is usually very playful, peaceful and sometimes reserved~ from what sea creature they resemble most. Carrying their traits. Most Tryne live underwater.. and get along with mostly every kind of Katorai species in existence. Occupatiosn may include- designers, models and cooks. They are also very musical.

The deeper they are in the ocean, the slimmer and lighter they are. Their bodies are refined and very beautiful.. Often though. They are bounty by other stronger and taller katorai for their fair skins, tails, and other sea creature traits. They can be found in any larger body of water- and if land legs- they are close to the beaches or large bodies of water.

+ Most are shy while others can be very very forward. Sometimes even lustful
+ They're heights vary. The deeper in the sea- the most refined and bright, slim+ tall they are. The shallow~ are more slick, dark and medium sized to very short
+ They can consume well in the water, even if some have unstable mood swings
+ Can manipulate water and some can even create bubbles
+ Are usually found in water
+ Pure blood Tryne have mermaid like looks-
+ They have a close connection towards music

Morphes

Morphes, are a common species. These Katorai had been gifted and birthed in to Aura blood line. They are very beautiful- elegant -OR- Short and stubby. Being either Merchants or just ones with a lot of filth richness. They are very.. needy and wanting. Manipulating and untrustworthy with lucre. They will take your lucre [ the katorai currency ] for all your worth. The main squeeze. Guarded by the spirit of Dryad - they reside in the northeasten region, where there is the most holy- or tainted materials for enhancing one's self 'worth'. Lucre wise.

Barlen, are grown up in two basic hierarchy. The rich- are the ones in charge of selling and are business based. The lower class are the ones whom work hard yet still try to squeeze your pockets. Or are the merchants of the rich. There is no middle class. Its either up or down.

+ The more.. rich. They are of normal katorai size. The poor are either tall with hidden genes of the rich- OR very short and stubby for the poor

+ Pure Blooded Barlen, carry the trait of pure gold in certain parts of the body
+ Their mating rituals are different from every other species. They sell the daughter- to the male's parents. And in turn they receive lucre or pure material items that can enhance their self worth. They usually marry within Barlen to avoid any.. mix breeding or even worse. To marry below the poor Barlen level. Yes. Poor Barlens are equivalent to middle classes/political class in other clans/species
