The Magic Box

At the end of a level, each character earns 1 token for beating a boss. They can use these tokens to spend on gear to improve their characters. How you spend your tokens is completely up to you and you can build your character either defensively or offensively. For example, gear that increases your damage will speed up the pace of the game as well as make easier fights go by quicker. Protection gear will help against difficult matches. Elemental resist gear will make certain encounters much easier, but remember not all encounters will have that type of magic, whereas increasing your accuracy or crit will always be helpful.

Each character has 4 equipment slots. Weapon/Helm/Armor/Accessory. You can only have one type of each in one slot at any given time. For example Willow can’t wear both ‘Guardian Robe’ and ‘Scarlet Robe’ at the same time.

As long as you have the items in your Inventory, changing equipment in battle is free and doesn’t cost anything. Willow can wear epic accessories, Buffy can wear epic weapons, Xander can wear epic helms, and Giles can wear epic armor.

Tara’s Grace (Armor-Willow): +5% accuracy to all offensive spells

Manasurge Tiara (Helm-Willow): +20 max MP

Guardian Robe (Armor-Willow): +10 max HP. +20 Elemental resist. Decreases the damage of all elemental spells by 20

2 Tokens:
Scarlet Robe (Armor-Willow): -5 MP to your Fireball spell

Power Bracelet (Accessory-Willow): Your Fireball spell now has a 30% chance to inflict an extra 30 HP worth of damage

Willow’s Wand (Weapon-Willow): +5% accuracy/+5% critical strike chance to all offensive spells

Fire Staff (Weapon-Willow): Increases the damage of your Fireball by 25 and Sun Spell by 20

Water Staff (Weapon-Willow): -5 MP to your Water spell

Usagi Band (Accessory-Willow):
+10% accuracy/+10% critical strike chance to all offensive spells

The Energizer Witch (Accessory-Willow):
[Auto-Encourage]
Your Evocation spell now restores an additional 25 MP
Lowers the cooldown of Focus by one turn

Feather (Accessory-Willow):
+20 max HP/+40 Elemental resist. Decreases the damage of all elemental spells by 40

You won’t be able to score a critical hit while using your ‘Beatdown’ ability

Power Pradas (Accessory-Buffy):
+5% extra chance to stun the opponent with your Roundhouse Kicks

2 Tokens:
Mr. Pointy (Weapon-Buffy):
+5% accuracy/critical strike chance

Baby’s Mittens (Accessory-Buffy):
Increases your critical strike and dodge chance by 5%

Oh No You Crit-in’t (Helm-Buffy):
You cannot be critically hit

Bright Heart (Armor-Xander): Increases the critical strike chance of your Magnum Blast, Death Ray, Heal and Greater Heal spells by 5%

Boyish Bandana (Helm-Xander): Increases the chance Therapy will cure negative statuses by 5% and lowers its MP cost by 2. +30 Elemental resist. Decreases the damage of all elemental spells by 30

2 Tokens:
Glistening Gun (Weapon-Xander): Increases the accuracy of your healing spells by 10%

Savior (Weapon-Xander): -5 MP to your Heal, Greater Heal, Group Hug and Soul Heal abilities

+5 extra damage to all your Codex abilities and plus 5 extra damage to Strangle.

Tome of Touching (Weapon-Giles):
Increases the accuracy of Magic Blast, Quake, and Ripper Strike by 5%

2 Tokens:
Ring of Healing (Accessory-Giles):
-5 MP to your Flash Heal ability

Tweed Suit (Armor-Giles):
+50 max HP/+5% extra chance Titanium Skull will halve the damage of attacks

Yep it sure is. So you want a Tweed Suit for sure then? Post again to confirm your order. Then I will subtract 2 Tokens from your character. =)

Also keep in mind Giles hasn't learned Titanium Skull yet so the +5% bonus won't come until he learns the ability. But still that and combined with the tanking tailsman you have, it should improve the G-man's defenses.

Also, Giles' gear will probably be lukewarm compared to other classes (and he won't have as many choices) but it's just a balance thing. The pures get better upgrades from gear, since Giles is really going to naturally be the most powerful character since he can do everything adequately. I had to put everything in perspective, so for example Giles cannot get perfect accuracy like the other characters since he has the Concentration ability.

Even without the titanium skull (yet), the HP boost is pretty nice, and the elemental help is just gravy.
