Chicken watched as the rain poured down uncontrollably on the wet and soggy afternoon. The sun was hidden behind the thick inky clouds and strong gusts of wind flung past him. Why did he have to choose this day to go to the park? He began to pity himself. His fur was soaked and damp, and the rest of the gang was nowehere to be seen. He sat under a tree for shelter, but he could still fell large drops of water splash onto his head.

Zoey was walking free spirited through the lovely summer day that turned into a nightmare. She glanced up at the sky. 'Man, I thought I could beat the rain too.' Bulky, crisp rain poured down as she walked through the park. She loved the rain but that wasnt the point. She started into gallop that lead into a sprint. She was trying to avoid the rain but it wasn't working for her. So she decided to go under the safest tree that looked like it gave the most protection. She ran over to the tree and was breathing heavily. She was tired. She noticed another dog beside her. "Oh, I'm sorry do you mind if I'm here standing out of the rain, Sir?" She asked politely.

He rubbed his eyes which were drowned in the raindrops and turned to his side. It was another female dog. Chicken nodded sharply, thankful for the fact that he had company. It tends to get lonesome when you're standing under a tree, hiding from the rain.
"Of course," Chicken smiled down at the dachshund. He felt a tad embarresed from his soggy appearance. Hopefully she wouldn't mind.

"Thanks." She said shaking off. "I love the rain but as it is this rain is too heavy to play in. Oh im sorry how are you today Sir? My name is Zoey, what is your name?" She said polietly.

"No problem," Chicken smiled at Zoey. "Very true. It feels like the heavens are just crying right now," he laughed. He felt awkward to be dripping wet while under a tree with a young dachhund he'd never met before, but there would always be a first for everything.
"My name's Chicken," he said quickly. He wasn't quite fond of his odd name, so he preferred not to mention it much. "I'm fine. Just waiting for my owner," he said.

Chicken looked uneasy at first, but ended up smiling. It could get interesting. Besides, that meant he would be able to get blowdried once his owner brought him home to the apartment.
Eagerly, he nodded at Zoey.

She battered her eyes at him, "Come on I'm not the average girl that hates the rain. I love it. I whine if im not around it. Or if im couped up inside with my baby sister and my co-sister. But she is a scaredy cat. Well that is because she is a cat. Do you have any siblings?" She said walking on the path beside chicken.
