Ive known my best friend, Jamie, since we were about 2-3 yrs old. her birthday is even the day before mine. her grandparents house was right near my house. a few houses down. since my real grandparents all died before i was born or right after i was born i considered hers as mine.

Her grandpa is a grumpy old man and would tell my mom what us children of hers were doing while my mom was away. he would tell her that we were on the garage roof a lot. which was true. her grandma was a sweet old lady who loved to do stuff with us. like going to the river, the lake, the human society, ect.

Well it was grandma who is gone now. we found out she had cancer this past fall and that it had spread through out her body. survival was slim. she passed away at about midnight last night. i had even woken up before i got a phone call from Jamie. I didnt feel like going to school today.

I've gone to 2 other winter funerals. this will be my 3rd. a couple of years ago grandpa B, my older brother and sisters grandpa, died of Alzheimers. Then just a week after grandma B lost her husband she lost her brother, uncle Gordy, from pneumonia.

And just this school year now one of my other friends dad died of cancer that had also spread through his body. he died only 2 months after finding out he had cancer. he never got to see his daughter graduate. and the school nurse, too, died of cancer just last week. she was a close friend to one of my teachers.

Sorry for ranting..
