Mia woke to a nice lovely morning. It was her, and all the other fruit gatherers, monthly day off. She had slept in a bit so that the suns rays of mid morning were shinning through her drapes onto the ash that was her fire pit.

She got into her tunic and did her hair before fetching an apple and her bottle for the road. It was about a five minute walk into town, she could eat the apple on the way. She slipped the bottle into one of her larger more secure pouches and walked towards the heart of the great city of Aimes.

It was a nice sea port, known for the fruits and fish that were cultivated here. It was also known for its array of travelers and servicing professionals. Like the one Mia wanted to pay a visit today. Someone who specialized in peculiar artifacts and who might know what in the world this bottle was.

Lan woke with an irritable groan that morning. Rolling over, he pondered for a moment why his back was hurting and realized he was on the floor. Third night in a row. Groaning once more, Lan made for the door, letting Sona out as well to perk around the kitchen. Lan sighed and started to get ready, with nothing else but exploring the town a bit more on his mind. He had a day off since Willow, Jeckal, her brother, and Maddison had closed the shop for a day of vacation and a day to let their tired workers take a break for once. After slurping yogurt through a straw, brushing his hair, and tying it up, Lan hopped out the door, Sona on his shoulder with his tail swishing madly. The cat and human made their way onto the streets almost as quickly as they had hopped out of bed. Lan decided that the market place would be a good start and turned on his heel, ignoring the stares that he got for eating yogurt with a straw. Oh well. What would be would be, ne?

Lan stretched his hands above his head and turned a corner, returning the straw to his mouth before he accidently bumbed into someone and hacked on his yogurt. Second day in a row! Lan glowered and then looked up, only to see no one there. Confused, he looked down and saw a girl a bit older then him – strange huh. Realizing he had rammed into her, Lan blushed and backed up a step. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry!” He said, waving his arms infront of him frantically. “Really sorry for bumping into you. I didn’t get any yogurt on you did I?” He asked this hastily then brushed himself off and made a small bow. “Again I’m really sorry….er….I’m Lan and….sorry…about that….” He apologized so much that he didn’t know whether he was just blabbering anymore or not and waited for the other to say something in return. Hopefully she wasn’t mad for the accidental trip, and hopefully there was no yogurt in her hair.

Mai was floored. Being a small woman like her made such collisions that much bigger... and that much more of a pain. "No," She started as she began to wipe off her tunic only to hit a small patch of this gooey stuff. "Maybe just a little bit..." She rubbed off the yogurt on her handkerchief before stuffing it back into her pants pocket. She began to stand up and fished about her clothes to make sure everything was still there.

Her Money... Her keys... her-

Bottle. The bottle. She patted her side pouch flat. It wasn't there. She cursed under her breathe. "Great gods where did it go?" She paused... "Oh and you are forgiven don't worry." she told the man while she returned to the ground to look to any signs of where the bottle may have rolled off to.

"Dont worry, it comes off easy." Lan tried to reassure even though it probably wasnt worth much. He sighed. How had he gotten into this mess in the first place. Watching her check for her stuff, Lan blinked and cocked an eyebrow. Then he asked "Can I help you look for whatever it is you might have lost?" Innocently. It was the least he cold do to help her out. There were always three things Lan was good at. Cooking. Trapeze ropes. And helping out. And it looked like the girl he had bumbed into needed atleast a bit of help to find whatever it was she was looked for.

"Thanks for forgiving me...by the way..."
Lan said softly, glancing down and searching for whatever it is she could have lost. Then a gleam caught his eye and he turned on his heel, leaning down to look under a stall that had just been set up. Something was swirling underneath there....he reached a hand in, expecting it to get bitten off or something then retrieved the item and straightened. His eyes went wide. It was a bottle. And it was doing the same thing as his. The only difference were the colors. Lan turned back to the girl and blinked in astonishment then pointed at it. "Is this yours?" He asked, almost choking on his words. He barely noticed he had lost track of his yogurt. "Oh my god, oh my god...."

Mia looked up. In the man's hand was her bottle, as his other hand dropped the yogurt cup he had been eating. "Yes!" She spoke sharply before leaping up and taking it out of his shock weakened hand. She quickly put it back into its pouch, but something didn't seem right. "Will you keep it down." she told the man as growing attention burned into her head. She grabbed the man's hand and pulled him into a near by alley way.

"Gods above do you want every thief and trader on our backs?" She asked the man, "Calm down will ya?"

"Eek!" Lan squeaked girlishly as he was dragged away. "Sorry, sorry!" He said softly, trying noto be so loud. "But I have one exactly like that....cept mine seems a bit moodier then yours..." He laughed sheepishly as if the bottle had its own personality and rubbed the back of his head, trying to keep distance between them even though it was hard to with the alley he had been shoved into. "This is odd. Do you know what the bottle is or are you just as confused as me?" He asked, looking down at the pouch she had put it in and wondering about his own locked up at home with Sonare.

He breathed in and out and tried to find a logical way to explain everything. "Sorry about being so shocked but its not everyday you see a bottle like your floating around in someones pouch..." He mumbled, rubbing his forehead in thought. "Can we find another place to talk about this?" He asked. "Maybe one with more..." Scooching away a bit, Lan blinked. "Room, or something?"

Mia smirked, "You big people are all the same." she muttered. "No," she began out-loud, "I have no idea what it - wait... did you say yours was Moody?" She slowly walked down to the other exit of the alley way. "Wouldn't that imply it is alive?" She slipped easily under a fallen beam and out into another street.

Lan blinked and rushed after her, sighing inwardly. This was going to be a long day. Oh the wonderful joys of that. Lan trailed along behind, listening to her words and cocking his head to the side. "I didnt meant to imply that..I just mean that the swirls around it are darker and its a blue color and I just imagined it as a rather moody bottle, for being a bottle." He was even confusing himself. "Ya..know?" He sighed, and rubbed his head. "Look, it'd be much easier if I just showed you the bottle....but I want to waste your time at all." He paused. "And what do you mean we are all the same?" He pouted and stuck his lip out, crossing his arms. What a wierd group they looked like out on the streets that day. He almost hit his forehead on the beam and ducked under it to trail after the other with a pout.

"Big people hate tiny spaces." she spoke clearly once in the street. She felt it was a safer topic than the bottles. "Also you are not wasting my time, this was all I had planned for today - not running into you... but figuring out what this bottle is." She smirked "Ya know?" She looked to and fro until she had spotted something that made her smirk.

"You know it is nearly lunch time, why don't you invite me to a nice lunch where we could talk about all this, then you can show me that moody bottle of yours?" she suggested, innocently of course.

Lan wanted to sigh heavily then he just shook his head smiled in defeat and decided to agree to it. "Okay." He said, rolling his eyes at the childishness of it all. "Where would the fine young lady like to go for lunch?" God, and she was probably three years older then him to. Wow, just another person to befriend as well, he supposed. "We can either go out, and of course I'll buy, or we can go to the cafe I work at even though its closed and I can cook you something." He shook his head. "And no, it would not be breaking and entering because I have a key and know the owner rather well." He smiled and turned around in a circle. "Or do you have some place in mind?" He asked, wondering what this girl might like for food. Lan himself wasnt picky at all, but did tend to have a natural liking for anything fruity. "I'll show you the moody bottle after lunch then." He said as if agreeing with himself before turning around towards her once more.

Mia decided one thing just then. This guy had issues. "I had a place in mind.." she tilted her head and slowly rotated it towards the small cafe ten feet from them. She smirked, "Thank you for the compliment and the offer to cook. I'm Mia." She introduced herself and hoped this man wasn't lose from the loony bin with how he talked to himself.

"It's a nice place, basic food, cheep." She explained, hoping not to come off as a poor old coot who needed to be taken care of. Mind she was only about 23... give or take a few forgotten birthdays.

Lan looked at the cafe. He hadnt tried it yet and smiled at the "basic and cheap" comment. Well, it worked didnt it? Lan nodded and put his hands behind his head. "Its a pleasure to meet you Mia." He said kindly, as they walked towards the small cafe. He opened the door and invited her in, as a normal person would do. He had done enough polite acting in the circus, even though he hadnt truly been as talkative. Lan had never knew how many different people lived in Amies...and no he kind of got the picture. "Sounds good to me, seeing as I already have a ten year old friend whos running me out of house and home with her demands." He rolled his eyes thinking of Willow. What a wierd girl.

Mia glanced at the man. Ten year old friend sounded like a child/guardian relationship not just a friendly one. Unless he was in his teens. She shrugged it off. This boy knew something about these bottles that she wanted to find out so she would deal with it for now.

She walked into the cafe and made a b-line for her favorite table which was in a corner and out of the way. She sat down and picked up one of the four menus that lived on the table and began to look it over for lunch like items.

Lan sauntered after her, giving an uneasy smile to the waiter as he went. Sitting down near her, Lan almost hit his head on the table but silently refrained and rubbed his head for the twentieth time that day. The cafe itself was nice, and he was glad to sort of be exploring new places while with this odd girl who seemed to know something about the bottle. Though he didnt know much about it himself, as he had just gotten his own. What an odd thing to be talking about. It seemed like random bottles were just falling into the hands of anyone or something. Lan wondered if anyone else had gotten one, and why him. Was it just coincidence? Well, technically it was Sona but....

Lan glanced at Mia as he eyed the menu, almost instantly going to the dessert section. Still it was amazing he didnt get fat off all the stuff he ate that wasnt healthy for him. "So...." He started lamely. What was there to say? Oh yes, lovely bottles. Mines a pretty blue! Lan decided against anything that sounded exactly like that and shifted irritably in his seat. He was definately a social disaster.

"So how did you come across yours?" Mia asked calmly, as if the topic was nothing out of the ordinary. She folded her menu and placed it back on the table, knowing in her mind what she would order. "I found mine in a tree. quite odd for such a thing to be in a tree, wouldn't you say?" She explained and mused at the same time.

She kept her hand close to the pouch, where she wasn't touching it, but she could feel the stretch of the material to let her know that it was safely there.
