Anger seemed to boil in her blood as the white and black lioness tore after the male, a roar escaping her. How dare he! How dare he DO that! Slamming as much of her weight as she could into him, the slave did her best to knock the old lion down. Of course, even in his age, he wasn't easy to budge.

Bodaway grunted, shifting his weight in the sand. As long as he may have been away, he still knew how to hold his ground in what was HIS element. A snarl rose up before a powerful red paw smacked into the lioness, knocking her aside as though a weak rogue cub. "You must be kidding me, attacking a lion like me." He let out a growl, battering her. "Foolish of you, really..." He almost seemed bored, but it was really an act.

"You're the fool! You turn your back on your pride, your family, for what?" She got up, attacking him again. "What about Kiunguza, and her daughters?! You turn your back on them?!" With another roar, she bit into his shoulder, releasing her anger, her frustration. Every hateful thought filtered into it, every desire to tear a new one into multiple lions, went into her attack on Bodaway.

She just didn't give up, did she? As he battered her down again, he paused to stand over her. "Come, now, Kimiko... Join us... You have the spirit of what a Firekin truly is. You're proud of this pride that hasn't killed you, you fight for it... You just fight for the wrong side." He started to pace away, pausing to look at her. "As for Kiunguza... There is no love lost between us. The only love I've seen from her for our family is for our gifted daughters, and not more." He gave a snort, feeling the rising sun burn into his pelt. It felt good, it felt really good.

She rose again, glaring after him. "You're as soft as those Pridelanders, aren't you? Maybe you should go join them, you seem to belong there JUST fine!" In her young age, it could easily be said she had no idea when to keep her mouth shut. Indeed she didn't, but she did emediately regret her words when she saw how furious the male looked, as his hackles raised up and even his mane bristled.

In a flash, he turned and was on her, claws at the ready and teeth flashing in the sun. "How dare you say such a thing!" With powerful blows, he had her pinned to the ground, one paw over her throat. "I may see now that the hatetred of other prides is pointless, but how DARE you call me WEAK!" He punctuated his words by pressing, anger burning in his golden eyes. "I may be old, but I am no fool! If the pride continues down its current path, we will be doomed."

Clawing at his leg, Kimiko did her best to be able to breathe. But the paw pressing down made it impossible. Or near, anyway. After a few minutes, what felt an eternity, he removed the paw, allowing the lioness to gasp for air. She stared at the sky for a moment, then slowly got up, glaring hatefully at him. "When this all ends... You will be sorry. You'll wake up, and ask what you've done." She shifted, starting to turn. This fight was over, it was... What was it?

"Will I be sorry? I hold few regrets in life, Kimiko." He let out a laugh, watching her. "You've learned a lesson, haven't you? You place the sake of others before yourself now." His tail flicked as he paced, hackles doing little to go down. "I am no fool, daughter of Nyekundu. When all is said and done, when this all ends, the old mindset will be long gone. My bones will be long bleached by the sun, but the legacy will remain. I have seen the world, I have been to many prides, and they all do what this pride has long refused. They allow new blood in, they allow lions to join. Many keep slaves, but they still allow in new blood." He stopped, staring her down. "You are a fool to believe it is right to let a pride drive itself into inbreeding. My body may be old, but my mind is as sharp as it ever was and sees the err in this." He was just blind to it before to not see it.

It made her stop, the realisation that he was right. She had placed her needs and wants before others... Until she'd had Masozi. Regret welled up inside her for her daughter, and she wondered... How was she? Did she fair well? After a moment, she looked back to him. "Then what do I do with myself? Where do I go? I don't belong out there, as a rogue. Do I even belong here...?" She shuddered, then turned. She had to find... Somebody. Anybody to talk to. Tail flicking, her white coat flashed in the rising sun as she hurried back to the dens. Somehow... She figured Savitri or one of her sisters were good to talk to. Maybe... They had answers.

He watched her go, then turned back to look at the chaos around him. His ears flicked before he turned and went trotting off. He had to talk to somebody himself. He had to talk to Jua'taka, and see where they stood in revealing either of their secrets. He had his own new secrets as well... His mind went to Ishara and a shiver ran down his spine. This could prove to be something benificial to her cubs, if they came out well enough. A safe place for them... Who knew. Mane flying in the wind created by his running, he ignored the chaos around him.
