Personal File:

Name: Flint Adare

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Physical Description:
Hair: Down/Amber/Long Bangs
Eyes: Navy/Deep Dark Blue
Skin: Apricot
Body Build: Average/Medium/Somewhat Burly
Clothing: Knee-length Capris; Khaki/T-Shirt; Red with Flames/Footwear? (to be continued)
Belongings/Accessories: Pokeball with a Charmeleon, Pokedex, (to be continued)

Personality:
Before: Rebellious, Daredevil, Trouble-maker, Prankster, Hooligan, Reckless, Self-confident
After: Depressed, Lonely, Sarcastic, Passive, Self-loathing, Intimidated, increasingly Obedient, though occasionally somewhat Defiant.(Side note: Personal defiance does not appear to be too much of a problem. Subject is predicted to discard all resistance over time.)

History:
(Side note: Following information of subject’s personal history before arrival on island has not been confirmed. Childhood friend not yet found. Info was gathered during interrogation of subject using Hypnosis. Subject is unaware of knowledge gathered and is believed to have forgotten personal history since experimentation due to accidental memory loss.)

Shawn Darrow had no home since before he could remember except for the back alleys and deserted warehouses of Goldenrod City. He lived with a poverty-stricken family, consisting of a father and a mother, but no known siblings. Mother was believed to have died due to pollution of poison pokemon that shared the same territory as the residing family. Pokemon noted to have lived in company of subject’s family are Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Misdreavus, Grimer, Muck, Koffing, and Weezing. Widowed father, devastated by wife’s death and left to parent a toddler alone decided to seek better fortunes elsewhere. The man was never reported to have returned to collect his abandoned child.

A younger boy whose name remains unknown befriended Shawn when he was around 12. Subject would only refer to this friend as ‘Flare’. No such ‘Flare’ has been recorded or found living in the city of Goldenrod, and his identity remains anonymous. It is uncertain whether ‘Flare’ also lived a homeless life on the streets. Subject only states that ‘Flare’ visited every Saturday to play and left the following Sunday morning. In between such times, ‘Flare’ visited subject as well, but these were much more random events. Having lived around pokemon all his life, Shawn was naturally used to their presence, but seemed to avoid them when he could, perhaps due to his mother’s death. Never having enough to purchase any sort of pokeballs for himself, subject was never noted to be a pokemon trainer, and if ‘Flare’ was, the subject didn’t know. ‘Flare’ never seemed to have pokemon or pokeballs with him. Subject had to be described pokeballs during interrogation, making it evident he had little contact with such devices.

Shawn didn’t seem to have any particular interest in pokemon training. It is unknown just how much knowledge he had of pokemon other than the poison and ghost types that dwelled in most of the places he explored and lived. He didn’t seem to mind them much, so long as they were a reasonable distance away. An incident changed his outlook, however, late one night in his dark alleyway. A Haunter had been following him for sometime, hiding in the darkness until Shawn stepped into the dim light of an old street lamp and noticed its shadow. As he turned around in curiosity, the Haunter, realizing it had been detected, licked him. Subject described feeling a strange sensation and that he had trouble thinking straight for a time. It was unclear whether the pokemon had licked him as a gesture of friendship, a means of defense, or as an attack. Confused by the Lick technique, Shawn, desperate to get away in the case the Haunter was hostile, stumbled across the deserted road and into what he presumed was an old, dilapidated abandoned warehouse. This may have been the Haunter’s doing, as such pokemon are known for casting illusions to play tricks on the unwary. In truth, the warehouse was clearly active and at the time having boxes moved for shipment; a shipment that was headed to the Cronus(/Team Rocket) Research Labs.

The boy explained that Flare had once warned him Ghost pokemon had a habit of sneaking up behind people and sucking away their souls. Frightened and still suffering from confusion, Shawn ran behind some boxes, hoping to hide from the Haunter. This plan did not go well, and soon after he heard the pokemon laughing its name as it seeped through a box to appear next to him, startling him considerably. Again, Shawn turned to dash away, but this time the pokemon held his gaze and he found he was unable to break eye-contact. Before he knew it, the Haunter’s hypnotic voice had caused his eye-lids to droop until he went limp and fell back against a box, fully asleep.
By the time the subject awoke, Shawn had already made it to the island along with the shipment. The Haunter was there with him. For what reason it decided to come along for the journey is unknown. This time, the boy got up and took off running across the unfamiliar stretch of beach, glancing back every so often to look behind him. There was no sign of the Haunter pursing, but the men unloading the ship looked up at him in surprise and one of them, he mentioned, had attempted to contact someone using some sort of radio. A stowaway boy of about 15 or 16 was reported running loose on the island with a Haunter.

With this knowledge, a few people from the Cronus Research Labs were quickly dispatched and retrieved both pokemon and boy in a few hours. Shawn struggled quite a bit and put up a good fight, nearly managing to escape, but gave up resistance after being informed he was on an island and had no where to escape to. The Haunter was assumed to be the subject’s pokemon until the subject was hypnotized and interrogated. After which, the Cronus Research Labs, fearing the boy already knew too much, decided to use him for a more recent experiment inspired by the Haunter, which were scarce on the island. Immediately, the subject was sent down to the labs for testing to see if a person could be, in fact, merged with a ghost pokemon.

Conclusion: Experiment was a failure. Ghost pokemon minds’ proved too unstable and incomprehensible to mix well with proper human intellect. Subject was likely to go insane during experimentation, but by partial accident had memory erased. In a split second decision, scientists wiped subject’s mind in an effort to preserve him for further study. This was because although the unsuccessful mind fusion was a huge disappointment, subject’s physical body structure was altered dramatically, allowing subject to pass through walls and though no evidence is found yet, perhaps even create illusions.

Side effects include detached wrists, purplish skin that varies in intangibility depending on subject’s will, and total loss of body below the torso. Red eyes and unusually pointed, white teeth seem to attribute to the pokemon Gengar, even though strictly Haunter DNA was used. Cronus Research Labs predicts to be due to the fact that Haunter evolves during the event of being traded, and though it is unsure what triggers this event in the pokemon, the subject’s partial transformation is thought to have been caused by the ‘trading’ of minds before memory was erased and changes to Gengar DNA ceased. Subject is also unable to sleep by natural means, as mind is unable to consentrate on tangibility when unconcious and will sink through everything unless special intangibility barriers are used to confine him. However, sleep does not seem necessary for subject, unlike a normal human.

Subject has been more difficult to study as of late, being conscious of physical appearance and unwilling to use powers for much more than occasional pranks. He has not been deemed a real threat to the Labs, as subject seems to be far too ignorant to have thoughts on leaving the island. With his mind wiped, he is still struggling to understand and though he seems to remember a few bits and pieces of his past, it is unsure, even doubtful if he will ever fully recover. From the few letters he seems to recall from his past name, he has created an appropriate new one: Shadow.

Name: Flint Adare
Age: 17 (Was Shawn's age, but arrives about two years after Shawn makes it to the island at age 15 and one year after Shadow becomes permanently 16)
Gender: Male
Pokemon: Charmeleon

Starting Stage (Pokemon or human): Human

Physical Description if Starting Human: COMING SOON

Personality: Loyal, friendly, kind, considerate, caring
History: Father owned a department store in Cerulean. Moved to Goldenrod later on. Met Shawn in the allies behind the store. Made nicknames for each other (Shawn became 'Shadow' and Flint became 'Flare') Became best friends with him until the day Flint got his first pokemon. Shawn was hurt that his friend had 'replaced' him with a pokemon and that Flint talked of going off on a pokemon adventure. That was the last time Flint saw Shawn because after Shawn ran off that night, the Haunter chased him down and brought him to CRONUS Island. Flint had been looking for Shawn ever since. He trained with his pokemon as he went. Finally he discovered the shipment and followed the trail to CRONUS through the supply by using his status as an heir in the department store (pokemart?) business. Found Shawn - sort of. Only Shawn was gone and replaced by a Shadow who didn't recognize him. Now he fights Cronus while trying to convince Shadow of their crimes against innocent people and must re-earn Shadow's trust.
Strengths: Like Shawn, determined. Won't give up. COMING SOON
Weaknesses: COMING SOON
Future Plans for Character or Any Extra Info: COMING SOON

12-22-2011 - Ralph suggested yesterday that Flare should learn Flare Blitz - not only because it has his name in it, but because it is an attack that hurts the user as well. Thus, this is the attack he could have used to kill Lindsay and died as a result in the final stand against Team Rocket. Flare Blitz will cause the user to receive recoil damage equal to ⅓ of the damage done to the target, so he'd have to have been losing against Lindsay prior for him to use this attack and still die from it. (He'd have to have been merged with a Charmeleon who had had the attack prior, though, because the only way for a Charmeleon to know it is through breeding from a Charizard.)
Ability: Blaze
Attacks:
SmokeScreen
Slash
Flamethrower
Flare Blitz
