Monday, December 20th- I got my Pard! heart I was so thrilled that I whooped and scared everyone in the house after I read that not only myself but everyone else that had entered won. Britain was right, there were so many good entries! I find myself very lucky to have this little eggu.

 Personal Notes 12/29/04
Well it wasn't a happy trip and I'm looking at another in the near future. I had to take her all the way down instead of meeting half way because my fiancee got the stomach flu the night before we were supposed to go. Well, needless to say I got sick as soon as I got down there and spent the rest of the trip home delirious and crying but I'm feeling better now and I'm going to be making as many updates here as I can before I have to leave again. Got the banners up for decoration. I think it looks pretty whee
12/22/04
Well, I have to go to bed and then drive to Erie PA in the morning to meet my child's father half way so I won't be online for a bit. I have to make banners and such to dress up my journal for this wonderful Pard but as it is I've been terribly busy for the holiday's. I'm hoping to get in a little extra time here and there so I can make my area look wonderful and maybe be a bit entertaining to other's if they care to read through. Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone, even if it's still a couple days off and hopefully I'll be back really soon.

Zaxzi A rather large pard- obviously one of the older males on Gaia, and confident in himself and his superiority over YOU, steps into the Aviary on business. He's nearly the size of a horse, no mistake- he notices your attention and walks over, flashing eyes examining you, weighing you...judging you. Massive wings fold carefully, and he raises his head. Though most pards can't speak out loud unless they are mages, this one seems to have found the knack...perhaps he's been around long enough to learn how.
"My name...is Zaxzi. You have probably not seen me unless you have stopped by Brit and Steele's home- I spend my time in that quiet place rather than dealing with the chaos and complaints and whining associated with a shop." His tone is scathing, contemptuous. "However, recently I have come across something that needs my immediate attention, and I am most certainly not going to handle THIS responsibility all be myself."
He grows serious, though he didn't seem irreverent before- perhaps the mischief in his eyes has faded. "I have discovered a set of eggs, without mother or father to care for them, all apparently from different litters. As a Seer, I know that these eggs will be special...they will require a great deal of care and attention. They are all guaranteed to be mages, seers, or healers- the three influences of 'magic' that pards occupy- but...there is something else about them that I question. Something....familiar. I need foster homes for ten, perhaps fifteen eggs; it is my task to judge if you will be good enough to accept that responsibility."

This was... odd... Not what I had expected at all. I picked up the incubator and brought it inside our home... sitting down on the couch with it I watched the tiny green line on it blipping over a strange black screen. I am not really certain what I'm supposed to do with it. This is my first Pard and well, I feel a bit out of my element here.
Well, the only thing that I can do is keep it with me and take care of it the best I can... though after looking over the incubator it seems that everything is being taken care of as it is! It's quite mezmerizing to watch that little green line... what is it? The Pard's heartbeat? So intriguing that I had to take notes on it and watched the incubator for the slightest change.
Nothing of course has happened yet, I had so much to do that frankly I am ashamed that I've been neglectful though of no fault of my own. I will try to be a better care taker for this small creature for as long as he or she needs me. I was so fortunate to pass the test to receive such a gift as this creature.

I need to clean this place up! Ye gads I didn't realize with how busy I'd gotten with life and everything how I could allow our home to become such a shambles! Taking care of so many adopted sons and daughters as well as other creatures can be taxing on a person but as well rewarding! My pard has not changed yet, which is a good thing in my oppinion, I still want to have things perfectly ready for him or her and it's not nearly as cozy in here as it should be for the new addition of my family.
::Within, shoos away a fae type creature that was trying to pry open the Eggu... it wasn't one of hers, just one of the many that thrived in the Vale that she had her small cottage nestled into... As she got up from her journal log of her Pardling she looked around her room... and then the house, it looked as if it had been hit by a cyclone in some places and then s**c and span to the point of NOTHING in others. Wild magic was playing around her abode again... with a sigh, she'd push up her sleeves and get to work on cleaning up the mess::

Event! Your Egg has been removed from the incubator.
With a noticable air of worry- or perhaps, unease- Zaxzi steps into the room you have currently occupied and folds his wings. There is no time to question how he entered the room, your home, this secure location- he is simply there, and he begins to speak. "The eggs have begun to emerge from the incubators. This is the second stage your egg will reach- it is still impressionable and easy to damage, but the shell is harder and the cub has gained the ability to take care of itself, somewhat. It no longer requires the artificial heat of the incubator, but it is also no longer protected by it- be very careful what you subject it to. Strong magic of any kind should be avoided at this stage...and may your God help you if I find you've mistreated it."With that...optomistic message, the Seer turns and leaves your presence.
