"You're an odd thing." Taavi commented, swimming over to the side of the pond and staring at the silent baby. Cal just stared back, eyes eventually rolling up to look up at the sky.
"Don't stare at the sun. You'll go blind." Cal still stared. "Hey. C'mon, Kid. S'good for you to, yenno, react." He prodded the child in the leg, which did earn him a scream.
"God. I'm too old for this s**t."

Barry heard the shriek as he approached the pond he and Quinn frequented. Seriously, how was everyone finding out about it?
Beneath zher overalls, Quinn worse a fairly large one-piece suit, and Barry was shirtless. It was a good day. A day for swimming. Barry sat far enough away from the infant as to not cause alarm and began to unhook Quinn's clasps.
"Daddy?" Quinn asked, "Who da'?"

Taavi looked up at the voice, raising one arm to wave. "Afternoon!" He called, grinning at the pair. He was happiest in the water.
Cal looked over towards the noise, but jerked his eyes back to staring at the sky when Taavi looked to him. Had to keep up appearances.

"Good afternoon!" Barry called back a bit hesitantly, "I hope you don't mind if we join you?"
Quinn hobbled over then to slide into the water and paddle rather violently. Zhe was not yet a 'good' swimmer, perse, but zhe could stay afloat, and it made zher tired.

"Not at all." Taavi smiled, finally turning his attetion to the older male. He blinked one, giving a surprised laugh. "I'm sorry. It's been a while since I've seen an urisk."

Quinn splashed about, ignoring the men.
Barry's eyes went unreasonably wide.
"You've...you've seen Urisks? Here? On Gaia?" Could it be true?!

While his 'father' was busy, Cal started to watch the splashing thing. Hmph. new.
"Well, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some here. I've seen just about everything. But, no. Last time I saw Urisks was when I was around Scotland and Ireland years back." Taavi said, idly floating. Hmm. Wasn't a full blood for sure. Probably half human by the looks of him.

Barry's ears folded back, disappointed.
"Oh. I see. You may have met my father." He sidled toward the edge of the pond and dipped his feet in.
Quinn noted the strange looks zhe was getting and splashed over to the edge, sitting beside the infant, panting.
"Hai, baby."

"Perhaps." Taavi smiled. "We didn't stay in the area long, just long enough. My daughter was old enough to take our first ocean tour." He sighed, oh, memories.
Cal twitched slightly, looking down at the girl from his little seat... thing. No noises. Just those large, unnerving eyes watching her.

Quinn's brow furrowed and she turned toward the strange man in the water.
"Missuh? Why baby no tawlk?"

"You act like that doesn't describe a lot of races." Taavi laughed. He swam back a bit, looking over at the child.
"I don't know. I recently found the little bugger on my doorstep. He only makes noises when you touch him, and that just usually leads to screaming."

Hmm. Quinn looked down to the baby, pursed her lips, and made that same little pop sound she did for the pink baby. Maybe he'd listen then! Barry just watched, a bit confused, ears swiveling.

The child's eyes widened slightly, but other than that he didn't get a reaction. Taavi sighed. He was used to dealing with odd children, at least.

There was a splash as Barry slid into the water, still in his pants. Mmm...water.

And at every pop the pale baby jumped, blinking in surprise. What?
Taavi smiled, kicking up a bit of water at him with one scaled foot. "Lovely day for it."
