Ugh. Ajabu shivered, a small scowl on her face as golden eyes glanced upward, only to shut tightly as a fat raindrop landed on her nose. "Perfect. Stuck out in the rain." Shivering, she continued on her way down the empty street, long tail swishing angrily behind her. It had been a bad day, from when she woke up to find some cats were invading her garbage cans, to when she had to stay up in a tree for what seemed like hours to keep away from someone's loose hound, to now, when the rain was falling in cold, fat drops, soaking her gray fur. If only she could find somewhere to dry off for a bit, figure out just where she had wandered to, she'd be good.
Ah! Over there, a nice area under a tree, just right to keep her dry and help keep her hidden. Eyes glanced warily about, small black nose checking for any signs of dog. After she deemed it safe, the soaked cat skittered under the protective leaves, shaking off before grooming herself. She wasn't sure who's yard it was -there was the scent of cat, but it seemed friendly enough- and kind of hoped she never had to find out. You see, Ajabu had never had very much experience with other cats, and usually seemed to offend them in one way or another.

The cat had been kept in the house all day. His normal spot at the window, growing warm with the suns rays. He loved that spot by the window. But he loved being let out to see the world even more.
He meowed to the little girl, who seemed to be of age 10 or so. He mewed again, pawing gently at her pant leg.
He really wanted to run his claws through the jeans, that would get her attention.. But he knew he'd be yelled at for doing that. And then he wouldnt even get outside.
So he played by the rules, and waited till the little girl opened the door, releasing him to play amongst himself for a few hours.
He knew when to be home. Just as the sun was setting in the sky. Thats when the little girl went to bed. She would want him beside her while she slept.. and then she'd wake up in the morning to catch the long yellow log that showed up twice a day to pick her up, then drop her off later.
He flicked his tail, giving his ears a jerk as well..

"Mmm..."
One golden eye opened slowly, expecting to see the farmiliar dirty green lining of her cardboard box. Her nose twitched. Grass? Both eyes opened wide, ears jerking to attention on top of her fluffy gray head. She sat straight upright, tense. It took her a minute, but she eventually remembered. Yesterday's awful morning, then the rain, then.. She must have fallen asleep under the tree. She stood, stretching her legs with a yawn. She was dry, and still alive, and that's all that mattered. Wait, what was that?
Gray head whipped around, startled. It was already afternoon? Her stomach grumbled, reminding her she hadn't eaten since yesterday morning. She walked leisurely across the lawn, until she saw something moving out of the corner of her eye. She tensed, muscles coiling, ready to run.
Wait, was that...? Yeah, it was! It was just another cat, not a dog, not a human. Still, she watched him awkwardly. This was his yard, she could smell it now. "Um. Hi. Sorry, I uh. I got caught in the rain yesterday, and I guess I fell asleep under your tree." She mumbled, watching him warily.

He stretched a nice long stretch, his toes curling as he did. As he stood back up, he was ready for the day to explore and determine new things.
But about the time that he had begun to exlpore, a new cat jumped in his path.
She was a cute little thing. Long haired fluffly body, with golden eyes. Like a wild one. She was blue in color, with darker markings around her feet and back.
"Well..I guess thats okay, miss. I mean.. It's not my tree.. It my humans tree."
He smiled.
He had never been one to be angry about a pretty girl in his yard, under his tree.
He wasn't going to make her feel bad or anything.
