Hey all! Elder Drake might not be here today. He told me that he wasn't feeling good this morning. It takes a lot teaching the likes of me and Sister Link! We're two crazy people! (Though I admit, I may have met my match!)
So yesterday, one of the things that I went over with Elder Drake is giving a brief explanation on the BoM without actually using the words, "another testament of Jesus Christ."
So how would we all respond to the question, "What exactly is the Book of Mormon?"

It's a sacred record of a people who left Jerusalem shortly before its fall to the Babylonians and came to the New World, where they lived for roughly 1,000 years before war among themselves put an end to their civilization.
(I'm greatly relieved that you're leading today, Elder.)

Wow Sister Lucentas! You basically said in a sentence what took me who knows how long to cover (with much stuttering included!). I'm speechless right now.

sweatdrop Er, thanks, I think. So I'm guessing I got that question right?
I hope other people show up, I want to hear their insights too.

Well, in the meantime, how are you doing with your scripture memorization?

Pretty good (by my standards, anyway). I'm almost done with 2 Nephi 31:17-21. I also figured out that in longer selections, it's easier to memorize one verse or part at a time than to try to memorize the entire thing at once.

I'm still working on 2 Nephi 31: 17-21. How are you doing on D&C 4?

i don't know another way of explaining it. but it's also bears record to the Nephites and the Lamenites. And the coming of Jesus Christ is talked about throughout it... but that would be saying it's another testament of Jesus Christ. but that's about all i have.

Okay...what are some common arguments that you've heard of/come up against regarding the authenticity of the Book of Mormon as ancient and inspired scripture?
