She was a puppy at heart, but she could not stop the growing that had surprised her so suddenly. She had been with Gohan for a little bit of time now, and had just now decided the park was on their list of things to see.
She smiled, her eyes bright chocolate and glistening.
She looked behind her, seeing if maybe he was around..
After all.. He was supposed to meet her here.
She wagged her tail, and plopped her rear down on the grass, giving a yawn, and looking about.
There were other dogs, but the majority of the park was empty, and she did indeed see squirrels running about.
Oh how she wanted to chase them.

 Gohan was a few minutes late, he hoped Clare wouldn't mind. It was hard enough to convince his owner to bring him here. He had to give her the "sad-puppy-eyes" look to make her realize that he wanted to romp around at the park.
Walking through the park entrance, he felt a bit awkward. A dark brown collar was around his neck and he was leashed to his owner. How embarrassing. He certainly wasn't used to this whole "leash and collar thing".
Not too far in the distance he noticed Clare. Wow, she had gotten a bit bigger. Gohan's tail began wagging furiously, his whole body in fact, wagged. He tugged at the leash, dragging his owner along with him. Eventually she unclipped him and he lunged forward, bounding towards his friend.
"Hey Clare!" He said with excitement. The park was nice, but he hadn't even noticed the squirrels.

Her owner hadn't really.. given her permission to leave the yard.. She'd kinda taken it upon herself to get there and enjoy life..
She hated leashes. Horrid things. She always tried to pull too hard, so she'd end up choking herself. She didn't know where she was going most times.. But she knew she just wanted to go.. and that damn leash always stopped her.
But her tail wagged, and she gave a grin as she saw her friend on his way. He was just as cute as the day she'd met him. She let out a bark, and hopped up. Kinda jumping in place.
She had seen the human, but was more interested in teh arrival of Gohan.
"Gohan!"

Gohan grinned and panted, bounding over to her. Without any warning he jumped and landed on her. "How's my...little lady?" He asked with hesitation. She was a bit bigger than he was now. He would surely get a growth spurt soon. Fluffy tail continued to wag with excitement, he was overwhelmed with Clare he had forgotten why she had invited him here.
It wasn't long though, until the smell reached his nose. His predatory senses had suddenly turned on. "Squirrel." He stated, as his eyes quickly focused on one that was chattering near a tree nearby. "I gotta catch me one." He stated, his voice almost seemed possessed with something else.
With as much warning as he had landed on Clare, he bounced off her and took off after the nearest squirrel. Of course the squirrel was very much aware of him and darted up the tree. The mutt woofed up at it, as if it would come down now that he was here.
"Doggone-it." Gohan muttered with disapproval.

His.. Little Lady? She could go with that. She liked the sound of it actually.. Made her happy to feel like she belonged.
But when he pounced her, her eyes flew open and grew wide, and she kicked gently out with her front paws. She was playfully pawing at him, moreso than actually kicking him.
She was so excited, and to see him as excited to see this place, was a moment that made her happy.
She was older now, and her thoughts had changed slightly.. After all.. One day, she'd want pups..
Her eyes were bright as she watched him jump off her, to chase the squirrel who was yelling all sorts of obscenities to the dog chasing it.
Her back was on the ground, her head tilted all the way back to look ..well.. She guessed it was up.
She turned over quickly, lying on her belly, and thumping her tail against the earth.
"Aw. Try again. You'll get it."

Gohan was a bit too slow to realize that he was getting a bit sweet with her. He did like Clare very much, but didn't realize that this like might explode into love very soon. Ever since they first met, his heart would thump a bit faster when they made eye contact.
"Woof! Come down here you little rodent!" He growled hilariously up at the squirrel who just ate his acorns peacefully. Sitting down on his rear, he continued to gaze up at it. Boy, it looked tasty.
His blue eyes quickly glanced over at Clare to make sure she was watching him. She was. Puffing his body up in an attempt to look bigger he gave the squirrel another deep "Woof!" and walked back over towards his lady, a bit disappointed he couldn't impress her with a catch.
"Just gotta wait 'til it comes down again. Fiesty little bugger."

She, just like her counterpart, didn't realize she was growing to love the other either.. She had always been one to live for herself, even though she was a kind heart. But now.. She relished the time they spent together, and everytime she heard his voice, her heart beat a little faster.
She giggled, jumping up to her paws, and trotting over to him. She stood beside his sitting form, and glanced up into the trees branches.
Looking back down, she looked to him kindly. Her voice soft.
"There are other squirrels."
She said, motioning with her muzzle. She knew he felt bad unable to catch a bounty such as the one above him. But she was going to at least try to make him feel better.

Gohan gave her a smile. "I know, but..." He wanted to prove to her he could catch this one though. It wasn't until he saw another slight movement out of the corner of his eye that he budged. "Another one!" He took to his feet, barking at the top of his lungs at the little rodent. And of course, that squirrel scurried up the closest tree just like the one before. Putting his forepaws on the tree trunk, he huffed and puffed, all out of breath and almost out of energy.
"Uuuugh." He groaned pathetically. "I used to be so good at this."

She patted him playfully on the head with her forepaw, her eyes giggling, and a gleam about them.
"Silly, you aren't supposed to catch them. You might hurt them. Besides.. Its more fun when they get away.. You dont have to take care of the mess afterwards."
She said, her tail wagging, and her mouth open, to show her long pink tongue hanging from teh side of her mouth.

Gohan blushed when she touched him. Woah, it felt like his whole body was tingling.
"Hurt them?" He asked her, going back to his sitting position. He couldn't admit to her that he had actually caught and killed squirrels before. "You're kinda right, they do make sorta a mess after ya catch 'em." Smiling, he hoped she wouldn't ask questions.
"How 'bout we do something else, Clare?" He thought for a second, and looked around at the grass. There were a few dandelions scattered about. "Look at these flowers. Ain't they purty? They're as purty as you are."
((I'm having trouble remembering to do his accent, lawl.))

Her smile was genuine as she listened to him repeat her words about squirrels. Psh, she'd never hurt the squirrels. She was too good-hearted.
Her tail wagged when he spoke about doing something else.
"Okay! Did I need to show you around somewhere else?"
She asked, tail wagging some more.
It thumped against the ground heavily.
Then she heard the compliment, and she'd be lying if she said her face didnt turn a shade of pink.
" Im pretty?...Really?"
She asked, looking up at him.

"What? You didn't realize it?" He asked her with a smile, a gleam in his blue eyes. Fluffy tail began to wag against the grass, it was rare if it didn't wag when she was with him. "You're purty, 'least to me."
He stood up and lowered his head to sniff the poor excuse for a flower. Poor dandelion is only a weed to most people. "Mm, smells wonderful." Ears perked suddenly, remember something he had said once. "'Member when I said you smelled like flowers?"
Smiling shyly, he shifted his feet a bit. He leaned forward, getting closer to her face, aiming to sniff her cheek to see if it still smelled like flowers. Would she move and get her muzzle in the way or? XD

Clare blushed again, her eyes like Lady from Lady and the Tramp. Where it was almost like the stars were in her eyes. She wagged her tail, letting her smile cascade over her face.
"Well you're pretty to me too, Gohan." She said, a gleam to her eye.
She stood, following him, and his scent of flowers. Her own nose picked up the scent and she smiled.
"They do smell pretty."
She said, smelling them again.
But then she lifted her head, cocking it to the side when he asked her the question.
"Oh yes. I remember everything about when I met you.' She said, noticing he was going for her cheek, she wondered what he was doing, so she whipped her head around, and her nose met his.
Her eyes wide, she shyed away, a smile and blush to her face.

What just happened? Gohan couldn't really say. Tingles that he had never felt before trickled down his spine.
"Uh..." He couldn't think and he couldn't even move. The mutt seemed frozen in time, his eyes wide and mouth slightly open. "Uhh..."
Those tingles sure were weird, but they felt wonderful. It felt like he could jump off a cliff right then and it wouldn't matter, because he would have Clare with him. Clare, Clare, Clare, Clare. Is all he could think about. All he could think about was what just happened in the last 5 seconds. It replayed in his mind over and over again like a broken record.
"Gohan! Gohan! Here boy! Don't make me come get you!"
Things were just beginning to get blurry when he heard his owner calling. Man, what would he say to Clare? He had to go now, but they lived so close, surely they would hang out again.
"Uhhhh...I'll see ya later I guess..." He muttered quickly, his face red and staring at the ground. Dashing off towards his owner, he continued to think about that magical moment between him and Clare. Clare, Clare, Clare, Clare...

Clare could do nothing but blush and sit there with a dreamy smile upon her face.
She was upset that he had to leave so soon.. It definately was not something she'd fight. She'd see him again.. though she wished she would never leave him.
It help her realize what time it was. Maybe it was time for her to go home as well.
"Bye Gohan, do come back and see me some time."
She said, wagging her tail, and taking off in a different direction.
