I was in Shadowmoon Valley last night in flight form leaving Sanctum of the Stars and following the road, for some reason, towards Wildhammer when I saw a level 50 horde warlock riding hell for leather, as much as he could on a 60% speed mount, towards the Sanctum.
*blink*
I actually did a sharp U-turn and followed him for a moment to make sure that I wasn't mistaking that 0 for a 9 or some other freakish number but... nope. That was definitely a level 50 I just saw.

some 50s like exploring. a lvl 10 in my guild has been to netherstorm. i bribed a lock to summon him, then hauled him to area 52.

i loved exploring when i was a low lvl, i went from westfall to STV to get mauled by tigers, and it was great fun to get all the way to BB.

The others are right. Some lowbies like to explore, and some high level people even enjoy helping them explore.
Someone portaled one of my alts to Shattrath then walked me from Shattrath to Honor Hold when I was too low to be in the area by myself. I wanted the flight path so I could have access to the trainer as soon as I was high enough.
I knew a level 70 who loved taking his level 30-something friend out to Terrokar Forest with him while he farmed.
