Wahabu was out for a walk in the Pridelands, he hadn't been entirely sure about why he decided to go for a walk but he just felt he needed the time to himself and to get some air. With eight cubs around, he could hardly find a bad excuse to go for a short walk- everyone was asleep, hopefully no one would miss him while he went for a short time. He was doing his very best to give everyone attention, to be a good father, but it was hard to keep track of absolutely everybody all the time! He just hoped no one would get upset, and that no one would rebel in the way Kilango had.

It was odd to be out without any of the cubs, it was very quiet. Very quiet. He wouldn't have been surprised if someone had followed him, but then they should still be asleep and a quick look around was enough to tell him none had awoken to follow after him. Intombi would be fine for the start of the evening.

Mtima was expecting Wahabu, in fact she was responsible for bringing him in this specific direction. She'd come right back to the Pridelands after her meeting with Amadet. She'd sent Kiongozi after the lioness to keep an eye on her, in case Mtima could not find her way to the cubs first. She had a very strong feeling they were in a race, if Amadet could get there first then they could keep them moving. Mtima could find Amadet again easily, but that wouldn't help find her son's cubs. She was pacing in the grass, trying to think of exactly what she was going to say to him. This was going to look suspicious no matter how she asked him what she needed to ask, he couldn't have been lying about Amadet before. Perhaps his memory would be have been refreshed since then. Perhaps she could ask about his visions, and work her way around to the one with cubs. That was her only plan to find them, to use her son's abilities somehow. She didn't want to worry him, to let him know unnecessarily.. but that would all depend on what she could get out of him.

Habu hummed cheerily as he walked, but it wasn't long before the very bright goddess ahead of him became very obvious. He was startled to see her there, pacing and not really paying attention to anything. It was weird to see her so many times like this, after not seeing her for long after she first left. But he had so much to tell her, he very much wanted her to meet his cubs, her grandcubs.. all eight of them.

"Mama!" he called out, picking up the pace and jogging towards the pacing goddess. The closer he got the more he realized she looked worried, though.

Mtima started when she realized that Habu was here, his voice calling out to her catching her off guard. She looked up at him, smiling at the very sight of him. She did very much love her son, and the idea of him being used to get back at her and her brothers.. well, that definitely didn't sit well with her. She would figure out what to do about Amadet soon enough, but until then she had to talk to Habu, see if she could find out where his cubs were and how he might feel about such a thing having happened.

"Habu," she called back, stepping over to him and nuzzling against him affectionately, "It's good to see you, how have things been?"

It helped a little that Mtima looked happy to see him at least, but it didn't stop him from wondering why she was here and why she looked so worried before noticing him. He smiled and returned the welcoming 'hug', wasting no time in making himself comfortable and taking a seat to have a nice talk with his mother.

"Good!" he said excitedly, not willing to commit to 'great' with how things have been with Intombi but he was still very, very happy about his cubs, "Guess what? You have grandcubs!" Habu couldn't contain himself and give her a chance to guess. Recalling that Kilango already had cubs, he added on, "I mean from me, not just Kilango."

Here on business regarding cubs from Wahabu, Mtima was shocked to hear him say that. It was ironic, coincidental maybe- had he found them? No, no- that didn't make any sense to her, she remembered how he had been with Intombi, that would make more sense. Maybe he was a happy, proper little family now. She smiled brightly at him, "Have I, now?"

She too took a seat, smiling at her son, welcoming a short distraction for the moment though she knew she had little time to waste. This was not something she was willing to get up and run from so immediately.

"Tell me about them," she demanded cheerily.

Wahabu noticed her hesitation at the news and raised an eyebrow at her, even when she sat down and asked for information about it. That was hardly encouraging after a look like that! He coughed uneasily, "What's wrong? You don't look that excited, and you did look really worried when I first arrived- are you OK?"

He couldn't imagine what could be wrong with his mother like this, which made it all the more concerning.

Mtima faked a glare at her son, frowning deeply at the question and subject change. She did want to hear about them, she certainly did- she was just caught off guard, and he would certainly know about it soon enough! But she wasn't going to let that worry him too much, not yet, not until she knew everything she could.

"It's nothing, dear," she smile reassuringly, "Tell me about them! I do want to know."

Habu looked at his mother curiously, though he decided it was best not to press her right away. Once his news was out of the way perhaps she'd talk more, after all then she wouldn't have any reasonable argument to go on without saying. He hoped she was really happy about this, and not just pretending..

"O-ok," he agreed, "Well! There's Manuku, and Kikimu.. and Mabwitibwi.." Habu couldn't help but smile as he continued on, having no intention of outright saying that there were eight of them. She would have to hear all the names slowly and gather from that just how many there were.

"And then there's Benua'kifua, Nalaisa and Kimbizi," he continued, "And there's Jasiri'maji and Kanelo."

She smiled fondly at her son, touched that he would be so worried but also very sad that she had even hesitated over this. She listened very carefully to him as he listed off the names off his cubs, as he hesitated and continued with more names, she looked surprised. Especially as he kept going and going with it. Her eyes and smiled widened a bit as he continued up to the eighth name.

"Any more?" she joked, though partly wondered if he was just hesitating for dramatic effect there, "Eight! That is quite the little- big! family you have there. Who's the mother?" She asked this with a small, knowing smile. After meeting Intombi, she'd had her suspicions but it was best to be safe of course!

"No, that's all of them," he laughed, though it was a somewhat anxious laugh. There was a reason the youngest got the name "Kanelo" for eight was certainly enough for a first bunch of cubs, it certainly kept them busy! "Intombi is their mother, but- don't get the wrong idea." He added somewhat sadly, "She doesn't really.. well, I don't think she really loves me. I guess you could say it was an accident."

He smiled sheepishly, "Not a mistake, though! We love them all very much, we're very busy. Very busy."

Mtima smiled at Habu, and almost laughed when he said Intombi was their mother- until he said not to get the wrong idea, which only confused her, and then worried her when he said she didn't love him. That didn't sound like a very pleasant situation at all. She smiled sadly at him, "I'm glad you feel that way, at least. And you never know, Intombi was very nice when I met her. I assume with so many little ones you are at least helping each other out."

She stifled a sigh. She hoped this would work out for her son, especially after what Amadet told her. It was seeming like a happy family was hard for him to get, and it was more urgent in her mind that he not find out about his cubs with Amadet yet.

"Yeah, we are," he agreed, then suddenly jumped to his feet with another bright smile on his face, "You have to come meet them, I'm sure they'd love to meet you! Y-you might want to hide the wings, though. Some of them seem confident enough without really knowing that their grandmother is a goddess. But they're all very friendly, and I'd really like if you came to see them."

Habu wanted very much to show off his babies to his mother, and he felt his best chance was to catch her while she was right here instead of hoping she'd be back to see them. Just because she said he could call her didn't mean she'd come.

Mtima was startled when Habu suddenly invited her back to see them, but then she should have expected that. She was sure, however, if she came to visit she might find it increasingly difficult to just leave and continue what she had to do. As far as she knew, Amadet might not have been terribly far from wherever she'd hidden the cubs away and she had to keep moving. Smiling sadly, she too got to her feet.

"I'm sorry," she said, trying to choose her words carefully, "I'd love to meet them, but it's getting late now, I'm sure I'd just be disruptive. And I really have to be somewhere, I just wanted to come talk to you about some things."

The goddess hesitated, knowing that was going to raise some questions.

"Your visions, have they been too bad lately?" she asked, trying to get on subject.

Habu was surprised and somewhat discouraged when his mother refused to come and visit his family, but she did have a point about waking them up- and it seemed like they had gotten to why she was here, or why she was worried. Or both. He was surprised when he was asked about his visions, not seeing what that had to do with anything.

"Um, not really," he answered, "Which is lucky, I'm tired out enough as it is. W-why do you ask, though? Is that what you're so worried about?"
