So, I got my newest issue of Nintendo Power, and it had a review for HMDSCute. I thought I'd put it up here for you all to read. Some of this I'm sure you guys already know, but I'll put it in here just to be sure.
"Running a farm is hard work, even if it's the virtual homestead at the heart of Harvest Moon DS Cute-- the latest in Natsume's prolific RPG franchise. The game includes a number of Animal Crossing-esque features absent from 2006's Harvest Moon DS, such as opportunities to select your wardrobe and expand and decorate your house. The other big difference between the games is that Cute players woo eligible bachelors instead of bachelorettes...at least they can do so if they find time away from their chores. Attending to business is job one-- managing time and resources to maximize profit from fishing, collecting items in the wild, growing seasonal crops, raising animals, or a mix of these pursuits. The game's social aspects focus on calendar events and discerning the likes and dislikes of the local bachelors. Unfortunately, the characters, many of whom will be recognizable to franchise veterans, aren't very compelling, and some of these guys are downright creepy. But what's a girl to do?
There are some other blemishes on Cute, such as scroll bars that don't indicate where you are on the list. And although much of the game is played with the control pad and buttons, there are also stylus/touch screen actions, so be prepared to juggle!
Interface issues aside, life in Forget-Me-Not Valley is challenging and mostly fun, and it doesn't really if your goal is to expand your house, get rich, or woo the perfect mate. As in real life, the choice is yours."
They gave it a rating of 7.5.

What do you guys think of the review? Who are the downright creepy guys? Did this change your opinon towards getting the game or not?

hm..nice to see some add-ons from HMDS i may pick it up now...we'll see.

No matter what, I'm planning on buying it (it comes out on tuesday YESYESYES!!!) no matter what. No review could change my mind.
I'm not sure who the creepy guys are, not yet anyway.

The creepy guys are probably Van and the Kappa monster and other funky dudes. xp

I was going to, but I heard that the Best Friend system is gone. If it's still in I'll definitely get it, though I don't know if it's worth it to pay $35 for a game where I'll just end up marrying Gray again. neutral

Yes, they took it out.

No, it's worse than that.

You can see ALL THE HEART EVENTS, AND THEY WILL NEVER TAKE THE FEATHER.

THEY. WILL. NEVER. TAKE. THE. FEATHER.

I cannot stress that enough.

I bought the game anyway, because Steiner...wait, no, his name is SKYE now...well, he's a bishie, and I've grown bored of MFoMT.

Heh, and I didn't preorder it, but I got the kitty anyway. They had eight, and only one person preordered it...and I'm friends with the guys at the Gamestop. biggrin

So far, I actually like it better than the original HMDS...I'm not quite sure why, because, y'know, they only CHEATED ME OUT OF THE WITCH AGAIN! But it seems like a...different game, to be honest. The translation is a LOT cleaner, and almost all the glitches are gone.

[Not sure on the 1Billion glitch; not to Winter yet...]

You have to be able to get married!

You can still get married to the eleven bachelors, but you can't befriend the special girls. They'll refuse the Blue Feather if you show it to them even if you have all of the requirements.

Put me in the spotlight...

I don't care what a review says. I would play the new Harvest Moon games no matter what.

But anyway, I love the game! I'm playing my sister's (Yoko Froggy) since I didn't buy my own. It is such a great game! The store even gave us two stuffed cats so now we each have one.

I was born for it.
