recently iv discovered there is a capoeira club in my city. i have been doing kendo for a few years now, though i have heard of capoeira long before i heard about kendo.

now my dilema is that my kendo club have just changed their training days and times. before this i was training each martial art alternatively but now they overlap. gonk
capoeira has been wonderful and i would like to progress more[compared to kendo there's no set thing to learn but to practise through practical lessons..as kendo there's set things to learn which get developed..] anyway so now im forced to have to skip a lesson in kendo to go to capoeira...
i don't see any other options..

also open to discussion; do [or have you] you do more than one sport/martial art[or any activity] that clashes? what did you do about it

Yes, I do sad

Currently I have clashes with 2 different styles of karate. If I could get time and my way, it would be 2 styles at 4 dojos. No way I have time for that though.

I used to do karate and taekwondo which clashed with work also. But the taekwondo solved itself when the head instructor was an absolute p***k to me in my fifth or sixth lesson because I also did karate - so just starting out, I was mixing up a few of the techniques. I ended up walking straight out. He had the nerve to ask for money for the rest of the month, and I just kept walking (was the start of the month and was going to pay at the end of the lesson for the next 4 weeks, luckily I didn't).

Not to sound vein, but my conflict is more in the fact that my instructors want me to devote myself to one style or another. Especially my White Crane teacher.

hey MJ, yea..i haven't mentioned to my kendo teacher that im doing another martial art.. though some of the capoeira people im friends with[i haven't met them all yet] know i do kendo though.-which i think they don't think im a serious about doing capoeira, but im finding it all too complicated to do everything.

...
there's another kendo club in my city and i know how you feel in the fact that they want you devoted to one thing and me training with their rivals would contradict the clubs style[as the clubs one is jap the other is korean].

Yeah, I know whatcha mean. They should understand if you want to mix things up a bit. It's basically how martial arts today have evolved. I once did tkd, but I quit after a year cause I felt I had learned everything I needed. I practice at home now, but I'm looking for a place to learn either jiu-jitsu or straight up mma. My advice is that ya just don't mention you're training in other disciplines unless ya have to.
