Tobi starts out finding Sasori's ring, he then asks Zetsu if that made him a real Akatsuki.. Zetsu didn't say yes or no to that. Later, we see Tobi with Deidara as his new partner, so it is safe to say that Tobi is an Akatsuki. He is a fun loving, well mannered guy at the start, though he is somewhat rude. Later though, Tobi changed, he is seen with Akatsuki boss, Pein/Pain, telling him what to do. Pein/Pain does not fight him on this, and as Tobi leaves you see a red eye, bluntly, the Sharingan. It then holds to place, could Tobi be Uchiha Obito, or A Uchiha we don't even know about? This rumor is closed off by the fact that it was revealed that Tobi is really Uchiha Madara, the founder of the Uchiha clan. It brings o mind, how could he live so long, and how is he alive if only Sasuke and Itachi are the only survivors? One of these two questions have been answered. While it is still not known how Uchiha Madara survived for so long, it is known that he helped to kill the clan. It is also known that he took his brother's eyes so he wouldn't go blind from the Sharingan. He is the one whom told Itachi that, and Itachi said that Madara would kill Sasuke in no time at all. For the moment, that is all that is known about Tobi.
