 Today was a "Romp in the Dirt" day! Or at least, that seemed to be what a particular Lacewing Kyunru had dubbed the current day.
The weather outside had been nice and sunny, but the wind seemed to be kicking up some small dust clouds and whirling them into mini tornadoes. Rhapsody had never seen such a phenomenon before, and so she had to investigate. And the best way to investigate such a thing was to try and pounce each and every little whirling cloud of dirt.
It would seem she had miserable aim though, for each time she thought she caught a cloud to investigate further, she'd lift her paws and find that nothing was there! Then she'd have to start over from square one again. Her pale blue pelt was now almost grey in color from all the dust in her fur, but she didn't seem to mind. In fact, she was still giggling and having a grand old time trying to find one of these elusive whirlwinds.
One thing was for certain: she'd need a bath later on that day.

Dormin had also been enjoying the dirt, but for a different reason - the tiny kyunru kit was laying down, sphinx-like, with his chin resting on the ground as he intently watched a line of ants march past. He'd run out of numbers to count them long ago (not exactly difficult, when he could only go up to ten), but they were still interesting. Especially when one of them was carrying a crumb-
Suddenly something gray slid through the dirt, sending up a cloud of dust that utterly obscured the ants. Dormin jerked backwards with a startled squeal, making his own-dust cloud, then sneezed three times in a row.

Rhapsody's ears perked for a moment, and then the rest of her body stopped the fun activity.
"Dust cwouds don't sneeze!" she astutely pointed out. She'd have to wait a bit for the dust to settle, but once she did, she found something she always loved. "BABY!!!" she squealed.
How lucky she was to find such a companion. Now she'd be able to play with it and watch it and be friends. Oh yes, so much was running through her mind. Did the baby like to play make-believe like Zeli did? Or was it a cryer?
With all the excitement, she almost forgot to introduce herself. Pausing for a moment, she finally realized such. Looking over herself, she found she might not look her best. Afterall, her black-markings were dim grey now. Either way, an introduction was an introduction, regardless of how nice one looked.
"Hewwo thehw! My name is Wapsody! What's yohw name?" Her tail was wagging and a big grin was fixed upon her face.

Dormin sneezed again, then pawed at his eyes, blinking hard to get the dust away. Another sneeze followed, then a full-body shake that sent up yet more dust.
After a few more sneezes, Dormin took a wary step forward, then stared at the ground. No ants. He sighed, then blinked up at the interloper with a serious look on his face, his ears canted back slightly. He was unsure of this stranger. "'s Dormi," he mumbled, before letting out one last sneeze.

"Doh.... mi....?" She couldn't help but let out a few giggles as the pup shook himself off. Babies were cute, no matter how you looked at them. Completely oblivious to the fact she was dirty, dusty, and filthy, she trotted over to Dormin with a big grin.
"It is vewy nice to meet you, Dohmi!!" She then plopped her rump on the ground and asked "You don't have a cohd, do you? You aw sneezing a wot!"
Yes. She was quite oblivious.

Dormin blinked at her, two long, slow blinks. Then he poked at Rhapsody's paw with his own, sniffed at the cloud of dust that issued forth from the other Kyunru's fur, and sneezed.
Yep, it was the dust. That was scientific proof!
"Dirty," he informed Rhapsody.

The lacewing giggled, but it didn't seem she took the statement the right way. Her head bobbled up and down in a nod as she agreed with Dormin's observation:
"Yes, yes you ah, Dohmi! You need a bath!"
This was coming from the walking ball of dust and fluff. She proceeded to lower her upper body to the ground now and lay her head down in the dirt beneath them. Her bright blue eyes looked at the pup. As she seemed to stare at him (though it was not the intent), she tried to think of where Dormin could take a bath.
"...do you know if thehw is a wake or stweam awound heew?"

Dormin thought about this for a moment. "Baff," he conceded, then poked her paw again, this time holding his breath in preparation for the dust. Sure enough, more dirt! "You baff too." He wrinkled his nose at her.

Blinking in a confused manner, Rhapsody finally took note of her own filthy state. She probably did need to take a rinse.
"Okay! I'w take a bath too!" Not seeming to notice the little kyunru's disliking of the dust, she used her paw to pat him on the head.
"Wet's go find somewhehw to take a bath!" With a smile, she proceeded to trot off in a random direction to find a lake or stream.

Dormin blinked too, very slowly, then got up with a small shrug. He might as well follow her. She was a bit loud, and a bit nosy, but he was curious about the shiny object she had around her neck. Sadly, it was more dirty than shiny at the moment, but he was willing to tolerate a bath if it meant he could figure out what that was.
The kyunru fawn trotted up beside Rhapsody. "Baff where?"

None could claim the lacewing was particular intelligent or clever. She was quite simple if one were to really take a look at her. Even her answers to simple questions were very simple:
"Bath in watehw, siwwy!" In a smaller voice, she added "We need to find watehw foost!"
Her sapphire eyes flitted up and proceeded to try and locate the mentioned water. It would take maybe five or so minutes of searching, but water would eventually come into view. A small pond, complete with ducks and a few ducklings was close by. All they had to do was find it.

Dormin shook his head. That was wrong! "No! Like dis," he said, sitting himself down with a sigh and dragging his tongue over his paw, exactly as his mother had washed him. (True, he'd never been quite this dirty before, but...)
The flaw in this plan quickly became apparent, and he wrinkled his nose and held his tongue as far out of his mouth as he could. It tasted TERRIBLE! So nasty and dry!

The lacewing glanced back to the baby intently, always interested in what something so cute and small would do. Her eyes seemed to grow bigger and bigger as she watched. What the little one did reminded her of what the Felis at her home did whenever they got dirty. And she always had a question in regards to such methods:
"Doesn't it taste diwty?" Her eyes blinked as she awaited and answer.

Dormin rolled his eyes. "Hwa oo kwink?" he mumbled, still holding his tongue outside of his mouth. Where was the water? He could definitely use it now, if only to wash his tongue!
