Katya was bored. Darry was asleep, and Roman was off doing something - eating kittens, perhaps. Katya pictured him as the diabolical type. So, she and Serafine were wandering about in the duplex's front yard, which was little more than a strip of grass and a cracked swathe of sidewalk.
"Cold-cold," Serafine said, pawing at Katya's arm patiently. "Needa coat."
"I ain't cold," Katya snapped, pulling up clumps of grass and dirt and pitching them at the front of the house. Mostly they missed but a few hit the mint-green siding with satisfying whumps. Serafine plunked down on her rump and sighed, rabbitish ears twitching.
"Don't," she protested as Katya threw another lump of dirt.
"Make me," Katya replied. Serafine gave a yip and tackled Katya, knocking her down.
"Made-made" Serafine said. Katya shrieked and beat her wings ferociously, raising an uproar.
"GERROFFAMEEEEEEEEEE-"

Katya's scream met another one, as a green-haired girl clamped her hands over her ears and let out a shriek of her own. The shriek lowered to a wail as Lorelei waddled over from her walk across the street and tried to pull the bunny-girl off of Katya.
"Please, for the sake of my ears...!" Lorelei wailed, "I need them to hear the sounds of the dust-bunnies floating by!"
Yes, she had dust-bunny radar. She also had dust speck radar, but it wasn't as good as the one for the full-fledged dust-bunny.

Serafine yelped and barked, all four heavily clawed feet kicking in distress.
"Kattyyyyyy-" she squealed. Katya gave a startling snarl and leaped at Lorelei, wings beating with alarming speed.
"LETGOLETGOLETGO!" she shrieked. "SERA'S MINE! LEGGO!"
She beat at the new girl's legs with tiny fists, causing no damage - though certainly not for lack of trying.

Lorelei, though she wasn't hurt, gasped in surprise and fell ungracefully on her butt, letting go of Serafine in the process. She flailed for a moment, not unlike the toddler, before putting her hands to her head and whispering, "Ilo, please...!"
She regained her composure after a few seconds, shaking her head to remind herself that her troublesome and megalomaniacal bauble was destroyed by her own kiss.
"Calm down, please..." Lorelei smiled dazedly, "I've let go of her, see?"

Angry tears streaking down her face, Katya clung to Serafine and glared at Lorelei.
"Dun ever, never touch'er ag'in," she hissed, wings thrashing. "Whaddya wan'?!"
"Katty," Serafine chided, ears flopping on either side of her head as Katya squeezed her half to death. "B'nice."
"Rrrrgh..."

Lorelei tried to stand up, but slipped on one of the clumps of grass that Katya had pulled and fell on her behind again. She winced before shaking her head.
"I was trying to take a walk across the street over there... your screaming caught my attention, little Sin," Lorelei brushed some of the dirt off of her stola before getting comfortable in the grass.
"I haven't seen someone as loud as you in awhile..."

Katya turned an impressive shade of dark gray, all the blood rushing to her face.
"I'm NOT LOUD," she shrieked. Serafine, untroubled by her companion's complete mental breakdown, curled up on the grass and nibbled at a shoot or two.
"Are," she said. Katya threw her a scathing look, then turned back to Lorelei.
"Not loud," she repeated, arms crossing. She gave Lorelei an unimpressed once-over. "Duck-foot."

"Yes, I know," Lorelei pulled her feet out from underneath the folds of her stola and wiggled them, "They're fun, though it's pretty hard to run in them."
She looked at Katya, and for the moment getting the maturity of a toddler, said:
"Moth-wing."
She playfully winked before leaning back, "But if you insist, then I guess you aren't loud..." she smiled at nothing in particular, taking a moment to enjoy the soft breeze.
"My name's Lorelei, but you can call me Duck-foot if you prefer that."

Katya's brows rose until they were lost under her hair. Well. That was unexpected. She looked over her shoulder at her wings, then gave an uncaring grunt and sat down beside Serafine.
"Your name's t'hard," she said absently. "Ducky's better."
She looked over her shoulder at her wings again. Moth? Hmm.
"I'm...I'm Katya."
