This is probably old news but I just stumbled across it right this second. And proceeded to laugh hysterically at how awesome it is. We should just run around converting all of Hollywood. Ah, my two favorite things, being Green and being Steampunk. They go so well together!

Oh man! Thanks so much for that link! I love the obeisance Leno pays to the past =P But in order to use steam engines, you have to boil water right? With either coal or gas- so I don't know how much more green that is than electricity anyway (which, according to Wikipedia, over 86% of the worlds electricity is supplied by steam engines, but there is no citation for that so it could be lies) but my technical understanding of the steam engine is extremely limited, so I don't know.

Anyway, thanks again though =P

Oh yes, Leno is quite the steam fan. I never knew how much of an old car buff he was, and I was shocked to learn about how much he loved steam powered cars and such. And he really knows his stuff too!

As if Jay Leno wasn't awsome enough on his own, right?

Yea, if you are just using coal or gas for your boiler you really aren't much better than the power stations...

The figure may very well be true. All power stations other than wind farms and hydroelectric dams and the like are basically steam engines, functioning as external combustion engines. Even nuclear is steam power, but sans combustion.
