The vast woodlands at the very edge of the school grounds are surrounded in just as much mystery and wonder as the school itself. Students are advised against wandering too far amongst the trees, less they fall victim to the shadows that await them...

An ominous fog set in amongst the trees, as the moon was blotted out by the clouds. Within the heart of the forest, the fog began to swell and churn, foring two new shapes. As the clouds moved away, Hachi and Lucas stood in the moon light.
"I think we'll have more privacy here..."
His crimson costume changed into his old, blue school jacket.
"... I had forgotten how peacful the woods could be."
He turned to the tree line.
"I'll trust in you two to make sure we get the privacy we deserve."
Two shadows appeared, one of a cloaked swords man, and the other, a slouching form. The two seemed to melt away. Lucas turned back to Hachi, a tear had run down the left side of his face.
"THe first thing I have to say, Hachi, is I'm sorry. I have caused you so much pain and suffering, can you ever forgive me?"

"I was never angry, Lucas..." Hachi said, standing on the tips of her toes and kissing the man she was certain she HAD to love. "I'm just sorry I didn't prevent this... I should've known that book was trouble... I should've stopped you... But now that you're back I can be honest with you. I love you" she said, holding him tightly.

"I love you too."
He whispered, pulling her into a hug.
"I'm just sorry it took a psycho moment like that for me to realize it."
He said with a laugh. His face suddenly turned serious.
"However, I am afraid all of this... it can not last."
He slowly back away from her, now standing directly beneath the moon. The former librarian became... transparent.
"Hachi, I am dead. After all of that, it was the only way to stop me, and I will fade away completely withing a matter of days."

"N...No!!!" Hachi cried, clinging to Lucas greedily. "I waited so long for you! I can't be alone again! Please, there has to be something! PLEASE!!!!" she was begging and crying.

"Alone? Since when have I ever left you alone? When we were younger, didn't i teach you about spirutal bonds? When a soul connects in such away, that no matter how far apart the two beings are, they will still be connected to one another."
He stroked her hair.
"Besides, you have to realize you are surrounded by people who love you."
He echoed the words of Hachi's closest friends, hoping that they would have some impact, coming from him.
"Hinata, Dane, Ryuk, Conner, Sheraton, all of them, they truly care for you. They are the family we never really had, Hachi."
He opened his mind slightly, just enough to send Hachi images of Her with Sheraton. More images of Hachi with Dane, and Hinata. Finally, and perhaps the longest memory, was of Hachi with Ryuk.
"It will all be o.k."

"Not without you" Hachi whispered desperatley, still keeping an iron grip on him. "Lucas..." her sobs had turned to gently sniffling.

Hachi pulled on Lucas's sleeve. "Tell me... I'd do anything" she said with a hint of desperation.

Hachi glared at him and smacked his arm. "Look here, it's already been well established on multiple occasions that I would die for you. If anything should this whole thing mess up I'll just die and be with you wherever we get sent, right? Lucas please... I need to be with you. I can't bear this pain..." she sniffed.

Hachi immediatley sobered up. "The book? THE book?" she asked with disbelief. "How on Earth can that piece of sh*t be helpful?!" she demanded.

"I don't like this... I don't like it one bit. I'm still weak from... uhh... The 'attack'... There's a good chance this whole thing could really go to a BAD place. We're talking mass extermination..." Hachi growled, biting her thumbnail nervously.
