Do any of you girls know a lot about that? I spend a lot of time on the computer [a lot of time, ususually at LEAST three or four hours of the day] and a lot of that time is spent typing. I have a laptop, so my hands are sort of at an awkward position. When I sleep sometimes, I wake up in the morning with one of my hands 'asleep'. You know that uber tingly feeling you get? And it takes a while to shake off, and my hands feels a little numb [dunno if this is right word] while I do [it's my WHOLE hand though]. And recently, when I rotate my wrist or put it back, I feel a little sharp pain sometimes.
So, cause I was worried about TCS, I went to Wal-Mart and got myself a wrist brace to keep my wrist straight when I'm typing. I do admit, it feels weird to have on... but I think it feels better. My wrist ached a little when I took it off, although I don't know if that's just because the support was removed. My dad says that's not what I should be doing, but I don't KNOW for sure if it's TCS. For all I know, I sprained my wrist when I fell in the snowbank last week!
Anyone got any thoughts or comments? Do you think I should be wearing the wrist brace, can it hurt, or is it a preventitive measure at all?

Well, I do know that alot of cases of CTS were from guys constantly masturbating to porn magazines xDDD
I'm constantly on the computer as well, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. My dad's been working with, and has been on, computers for 20+ years and he doesn't have it.
Your wrist is probably sore because it may need to be worked out. Maybe it's cramped?
But really, try not to worry :/ I doubt you have it, and if you're that worried, see your doctor.
Usually CTS is in older people :/ You're not old.. XD

Come on, Asa-chan, WE'RE TOTALLY OVER THE HILL. Admit it. xD! I know I'm probably okay. I've been reading up on it and I think it's more likely I sprained my wrist a little. I'm debating on keep the wrist brace. Maybe I'll keep it until the pain stops and then return it. Heh. But I found this cool program, and I didn't think it would hurt. It's this neat one, called Workrave, and when you install it on your computer, you can set it to pop up every so many hours to remind you to take a break! I'm going to try it out.

heart Yeah, I know, right? I do get caught up sometimes, I have to admit. I set mine to remind me to get up and stretch every hour and a half... so if I WERE at the computer for that solid amount of time, I would. If not, you can just press the skip button. There's also an option for a 'micro break' that reminds you to avert your eyes from the brightness of the computer screen for so many seconds. I set that one to half an hour, for thirty seconds.

I wish I could say something to reassure you about this, but I don't really know anything about CTS. The only time I ever think about it, is when I am writing a lot in English, and I tell my teacher that if I get CTS, that's his gonna pay for my doctor's bill. xD Yeah, that's about it... sweatdrop Sorry.

You most likely haven't got it. It could just be slightly sprained or, because you have to have your hands in a weird position to type, it may be a type of cramp because your temdons are shaping to the way you have your hands for the keypad? I dunno. Just don't think it is CTS, otherwise your mind could make you develop it. I've been told I might have ME but I won't think or believe I have, until I see the test results.
