The late winter breezes made it easy for Karma to stay aloft. He could have probably flown all day if he had wanted to and covered mile upon mile before he landed. He had even done it before, stretching his wings out during his first days of adult freedom. He had discovered lands far from where he had grown up and found that they were not all that different after all. Wherever he landed, the earth beneath his hooves was always just earth. That brought him comfort when the lands around him were strange and unfamiliar.
He spiraled downwards towards the glimmer of sunlight off calm water. He'd stop for water and then decide what he would do. He could continue on foot which would let his wings rest, and it wasn't unpleasant being down amongst the trees. He landed softly on the bank of the lake and briefly looked over the area before lowering his head to drink. He didn't smell any predators and it seemed like a tranquil place.

Day in and day out always with the slowly growing buds of the flowers he watched over. Admon saw no problem with it, he loved watching the grow. He could lay beside them and speak of his feelings to his hearts delight and they never judged. True his mother and father knew od his feelings now and were ok with it, but he had seen how they quitely spoke to each other how they whispered their worries for him to each other. His brother didn't know yet and the usdia that lived with the same two legger with him was the worse. Constantly teasing him about being a flower lover and a fruitcake and so many other things. It was his right to love who he wanted!
Shaking his mane out, Admon made his way through the trees. In one of his mother's informational rants, Admon had noticed his mother speaking of a water based group of soquili. Sure it was probably something the crazed two legger had come up with but that didn't matter, he was leaving the flowers today so he would go to explore the ramblings. Sure if the water based soquili did exist they would probably be in the great waters and not the lake but that was to far from his flowers.
Shaking his head once again, Admon paused at the tree line turning head to try and re-adjust the flowers in his head. Muttering to himself Admon started foward once again. He really didn't pay any attention to where he was going. It wasn't like he was going to run into any more. He figured most of the other soquili would be gathering some where near the open fields to pay and talk or whatever they did for fun. Huffing slightly as he grew closer to the lake, Admon started to regret leaving the flowers. What if some one found them and ate them before they even got a chance to bloom. No. "No no no mom was right I need to get from the flowers once and a while no one will find them"

Thirst quenched for the moment, Karma lifted his head. He still had to decide whether to continue traveling over the land or through the air. He looked skyward and a soft breeze lifted the tips of his braids gently. Perhaps he'd stay landbound for the rest of the day. His legs were long and thin like his mother but he wouldn't let them be as frail as they looked. Walking would keep the strength in them. He lifted one hoof and planted it back down in the soft sand of the lakeside. It would be as pleasant a day for walking as for flying.
He turned from the lake and was preparing to set back out on his journey when he spotted a flash of color amidst the forest. What could that be? The next breath of wind carried with it the quiet mutterings of a voice. It was a soquili, apparently. Karma didn't move but stood still and watched as the bright colors drew nearer.

Breaking through the tree line, Admon once again stopped to try and right the flowers in his mane. As much as he loved them they never seemed to stay in the right place. With a worthless sight and the tossed of his head, Admon shook the flowers in his mane. There! they weren't perfect but atleast the ones that were staying in had kept their place and the others would fall to the ground.
Glancing down the the few flowers that had fallen from his mane, Admon smiled. Only two and here they wouldn't be eaten. Well hopefully not they would just rest untill the wind carried them away. Oh! That reminded him, turning as far as he could Admon peered at his tail making sure the blue rose his usdia friend had given him was still there. " All in place" Righting himself, Admon started towards the lake again. He could clearly see it now, letting his eyes roam over the view. Admon barely noticed the other soquili, but he did see the few falling petals on the other stallions wings. Glancing up into the sky then down at the ground, Admon blinked twice before snorting. Oh it was another soquili. " must stop obsession over flowers"

Karma had a clearer view of the other soquili now. In Karma's limited experience, it was a very strange looking soquili that approached. His color and shape seemed normal enough but the way he had decorated himself was most unusual. All types and varieties of flowers seemed wound throughout his hair and mane. Unlike Karma who was naturally floral patterned, the stranger had made his own designs.
Since it looked like the other had definitely noticed him, Karma called out a soft greeting to the other stallion. "Hello. My name is Karma." He had grown accustomed to introducing himself almost immediately when meeting a stranger. It seemed to induce a sense of relaxedness into the meetings.

Moving closer so he wouldn't have to speak loudily, Admon nodded a softy greeting. " Hello, I'm Admon" Relaxing slightly, Admon glanced around for a moment to make sure no one else was around that he hadn't noticed. It was bad enough had almost not seen the other stallion, but if he missed others he feared they would think him rude. And flowers were not rude they were lovely and gently.
I am a lovely flower. Ugh he could never say that out loud, he already acted like enough of a mare as it was. Alright, well no one else appeared to be around anyways. Smiling lightly, the stallion let his gaze roam over the other stallion fully for a moment before his gazed to the lake. Wrinkling his nose at the smell of fresh grass and the lake that snaked its way into his natural surrounding scent of flowers, the stallion grimaced ugh grass was so odd smelling. Shaking his mane wildly, Admon tried to get the new scent to stop gathering around him. " Ugh it smells like grass" Turning his head Admon shoved his nose into one of the flowers in his mane and inhaled deeply. Uh oh, pollen... Squeezing his eyes shut Admon tried not to sneeze. But it was no use, sneezing loudly Admon blushed. "Excuse me"

Karma watched Admon's actions with an expression of distant interest. He didn't understand why the stallion was acting the way he was but that was hardly knew. Karma didn't understand why most soquili did what they did. He did understand that Admon was bothered by the grass, however, so he began to take steps towards the forest that the other stallion had emerged from.
"If you don't like grass we can talk away from it." His tone was just as even and measured as his gaze had been, calm but detached. It must be difficult for anyone to live with any sort of distaste for grass. He felt a note of pity for Admon because of that.

" Oh its not that I don't like grass, just not the smell of it.... I'm so use to the smell flowers any thing else tends to bother me" Nodding more to himself rather then to the other stallion, Admon paused for a moment. Glancing towards the forest then back to the lake, Admon slowly started to follow the other stallion. Perhaps it was best that he got away from the grass and the lake or he'd keep sticking his noise into the flowers in his mane and sneezing from the pollen.
Ugh he already probably seemed odd to the other stallion... Just great! All he need some one else to think he was odd. Mumbling to himself, Admon glanced up to make sure the other stallion was a head of him before taking his anger out on a smal patch of grass before him. Glaring at the grass, Admon stomped down and kicked it. Ah what fun to destroy the grass, it was almost as fun as making that horrible usdia Noir faint by telling the little midget his mate was pregnant or stomping down around him. Sighing happy, Admon glanced down around destroyed patch of grass.

Karma wondered at the noises he heard behind him from the other stallion but didn't turn his head and didn't stop until they had reached the edge of the grass. Now maybe he could talk to Admon without interruption. However, just like analyzing the motives of other soquilis, finding topics for smalltalk had always eluded Karma. He knew it was expected of him and usually tried for the sake of politeness but mostly didn't get any value from the brief pleasantries.
He tried to think of what might interest this Admon. Well, one thing was obvious, even to Karma. "I see you like flowers. You seem to have acquired a great variety in your collection."

Leaving the grass patch behind Admon followed to the edge of the grass. How interesting it was, it seemed the other stallion hadn't noticed his little out burst. That or he ignored the out burst, either way was perfectly fine with Admon. It was less for him to explain. Nodding softly, Admon looked to the other stallion as he readied to answer the other.Lets see well of course he had flowers in his hair but how to list them off. So many flowers he could name almost all of them. There were a few hybrid wildflowers that he was not sure if they had names yet.
" Yes their mostly wildflowers from around here. Baby blue eyes, Catchflys, foxgloves, tidy-tips, Rose angels, and ox-eyed daisies just to list a few"

Karma tried to match each flower with it's name as they were listed. He liked to know the names of plants but had gotten few opportunities to learn the ones that hadn't grown near his childhood home. He liked flower names. They were usually self-explanatory and didn't require much explanation. The names themselves had a beautiful sort of simplicity that didn't occur very often in life.
He gave a brief nod when Admon had finished identifying flowers and grew distant as a question came to his mind. "The flowers above my hooves... They are something called a lotus." He looked down at the pink flowers, lifting and turning one slowly to better see all sides of it. "I have been told that they only grow in a far off land but I was wondering if you had seen any here."

"Lotus are from asia and India....where ever those places are. But from what my two legger has told me those places are far far away." Pausing for a moment, Admon tried to think. " I know I've heard of them before." Prancing slightly where he stood, Admon huffed before look over the other stallion's hooves. " No I don't think I've seen any before... I think they grow on water sometimes....So maybe there isn't any water around here they can grow on"
"There are alot of flowers that don't grow around here though. Flowers aren't so weak as every one seems to think, they can grow all over on mountians, in water, they can grow on prickly plants in a desert, they can sleep through the winter then wake back up in the spring. So it makes sense that I haven't seen any. Well that and I don't go around alot... I stick by certain flower patches I've watched grow since winter started to fade.

Karma felt the smallest pang of regret that he wouldn't be able to see any lotuses growing. If the places they did live were so far away even with his wings it was likely he would never see them. That was just the way of life, he reminded himself. There would always be something that he hadn't done.
He was interested by the description of the tenacity of flowers. He hadn't thought that they had such powers of survival. "It seems that flowers can thrive where soquili cannot. It is an impressive quality." He paused for a moment to consider. "I think there is something to be learned from the nature of these flowers."

Nodding softly, Admon paused a moment to think. " I grew up learning things through nature it was my mother's way. She and my father are based off flowers, My mother a Peony and my father a Mexican Bird of Paradise." Huffing softly, Admon rolled his eyes at himself. Why in the work had he said that? That had nothing to do with what he wanted to say.
"Flowers can teach us alot. They grow according to how nature wants them to. They don't change themselves for others, they grow together no matter what kinds they are. For they don't care the different, the different types get along. And if they don't the stronger take over and the others might die off but their seed fly in the wind to a more suitable place." Closing his eyes, Admon smiled softly letting his mind drift off for a moment as he contiuned to speak. " Some last year after year while some only one summer and other come bath every two years and so one. They grow across the lands and in the waters to, they can live any where across the land as longs as the place is like where they orginally came from. They are strong but they don't feel the need to prove it they stay silent and lovely."

Karma listened quietly and politely to Admon's words while at the same time thinking them over in his mind. Apparently the association with flowers ran in the bloodline. He hadn't heard of that happening before but supposed it wasn't tremendously surprising.
More interesting than his thoughts about his parents were his philosophies about flowers. Like both his parents, Karma enjoyed indulgence in philosophy from time to time. For the first time in their encounter, he gave a small smile. "I wonder if the flowers know whether they will only last one summer or will live for years and years. I do not know enough about flowers to answer this but maybe you can. Are the flowers that only live for one summer more beautiful than the ones that last for years?"
