I really do like Dukes. I admire him and think he has skills.
HOWEVER.
When I get unlazy I'll go through crew and dig up the evidence that shows he abused power as crew, he hacked the post secrets mule, he sent sin harrassing images, he flamed plenty of people and got out of it on technicalities, and I dont remember what else but I know his name came up in crew non-stop.

I just don't want you all to go permaban him, let alone temp ban him, because though he may be an a**, he's a member of the community. Every group has their a*****e, and if you kick him out, we'll get a new one. Dukes has the habit of undermining people and talking down to them to make him feel higher, but that doesn't mean he can't be a respectable part of the SG. Rather than a ban, Dukes needs a bitchslap. A big one. Besides, all he did that set you all off was make a mule and run around the GCD spinning lies. THAT is not against the rules. He didn't make Yuri participate in the SG, and that's the only way it's illegal. Meh. Whatever.

Did you know that the US isn't a Democratic nation? Nope, it's a Democratic Republic... Why? Well, there's many reasons, but one in particular applies here...
One function of an authoritative system is to prevent the abuse of the minority at the hands of the majority.
Now, I know this isn't the US, but it does provide a good parallel to look at... If someone hasn't done anything wrong, then banning them isn't right.
Now, if he HAS done something wrong, then there are consequences. I'm not going to say he has or hasn't, but to my knowledge, there isn't enough evidence to compel a punishment for a crime.
In any case, speak as you will, but remain civil, and no flaming...
EDIT: Oh, and if it's really a problem with the majority of the guild, just put him on your ignore list... if enough of you do it, then for all intents and purposes, he will be banned, since you won't hear anything from him.

As much as I'm willing to defend Dukes, I must Disagree with this statement. Ignoring and handling a problem are two different things.

This is fun. I like how people who claim to like me are offering to provide evidence against me, and these people are offering crimes I am supposed to have committed (one of which I admit committing though I was actually never crew so it would be abusing my power as GM, something I admitted to and apologized for at the time and was given a warning for, go figure).
What's this about making a mule and spinning lies? Yuri is involved how?
I am just going to say that I am really confused right now.

But banning Dukes would just be... UnAmerican. We don't go around lynching and excommunicating anymore... Where do you think we are Ancient Rome??
Sib said something really interesting that makes a lot of sense, but since he's the one that said, it really carries no weight with me.
