So for some unknown reason, someone has attempted 15 times today to get into this account. o_o; I know it's been 15 total because Gaia e-mailed me three times after 5 attempts saying my account had been blocked.
10 happened in the middle of the night when I was asleep, then 5 more happened a little while ago while I was in the middle of attempting to update a couple posts on LJ that are woefully and horribly neglected (the last time I updated 'em was at the end of January. @w@;; ) and now I'm wondering:
Who the hell's doing this? oo; I know WHY but who, I wish I knew so I could smack 'em upside the head. *Goes back to transferring stuff to mules*

What happens when they "block" your account from failing to log in properly? I see that they send you an email, but what else?
I know that I get terrified when I accidently type my password wrong and the big thing comes up saying "if you fail again, your IP will be logged scream " or something like that.
I hope you get all your stuff safe before whoever it is finds a way to get on and steal anything. :worried: heart heart heart heart heart
(oh, and if you need another mule to help, I have a very available mule I don't want you can have xd ) <= yeah, shameless plug, I'm sorry sweatdrop

You get a temp ban for an hour or something when you have 5 failed attempts in addition to the email.

Well, if I were you, I'd:
1. Make sure the password to the account is a good, hard one... random characters, long... etc. And it might be a good idea to change it, just to make sure.
2. Contact a Gaian mod, and tell them that you've emails from Gaia, showing that someone tried to access your account with the wrong password, and that it wasn't you. They may very well ban the IP that tried to get in, which would prevent them from actually getting lucky with a guessed password.
That, and make sure your email is current... not that they can't change it, just that much extra. And if you're paranoid, (eg. you know someone specifically is after you), transferring your stuff to mules that don't show up on your normal account anywhere (not in friends list, etc.), that have strong passwords is a good idea... but obviously, you can't exactly use your stuff like that...
Thank God that Gaia HAS managed to run their site well; they've managed to keep from being targets of being hacked pretty well (and if I'm not mistaken, didn't a couple of the chan's want to take 'em down?).
Anyways, just do numbers one and two, and don't worry about it. You should be fine! ^_^( )
