Hey Elder.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm in a much better mood than I have been for a while. I'll behave today.

I'm sorry guys but something's wrong with my gaia online. If you wouldn't mind taking over Sister Lucentas while I figure out what the heck is wrong with it? I was just going to go over how everyone was doing in befriending others but you can do whatever the spirit dictates.

Gaia seems to be having some problems in general--good luck fixing whatever's wrong.
So how is everyone doing with befriending others and furthering the cause of the gospel?

Well, as for missionary experiences a friend and mine have been teaching one of the kids in our Geometry class for the past week or so now. The friday before last we gave him a Book of Mormon with our testimonies written in it. She and I are watching him and answering his questions to the best of out ability.

the other day i was watching my neighbor because she keeps having really bad asthma attacks and so her parents don't want her to be home alone incase she has an asthma attack. and she's catholic and she said i'm going to do my devotional for the day and i was like what's that and she told me it that it was she read a couple verses of scripture and then there were little stories that went along with the scriptures. and so i was like hey lets go to my house and get my scriptures and we can read some together. so that's what we did and we talked and had a good time. the end of my story.

(If anyone else is getting the "General error" message when they try to post something, don't worry about it--your post went through. Just go back to the topic and refresh to see it.)
I actually just started reading Preach My Gospel, the missionary manual, today, and the first chapter talks about the purpose of missionary work. It took me a long time to realize this, but there are more people than you'd think who are out there looking for the truth in some way or another. With our expanded knowledge of the true nature of God and His plan for us, it's our duty as Saints to share our truth with them.
Ironically, just a few days ago I saw a message posted on another website that said something to the effect of "Nobody should perform any kind of missionary service or proselyting for their religions because everyone is content in their own beliefs and doesn't want to be bothered." I've been thinking about this rather erroneous and naive assumption ever since I read it, since when I was younger, this was what I believed about society as well, and thus my justification for making sure never to speak about my religion with anyone.
What my younger self, the author of this message, and perhaps many others do not understand, though, is that an ever-increasing number of people are NOT content with their beliefs. Everywhere you go, you will find this subconscious urge among spiritually sensitive people who don't know about the Church--a pressing thought that there must be something bigger out there, that what they may be taught in their own churches isn't the entire truth. That's where we come in.

I guess te closest thing I can count as a missionary experience is my chats with my friend Josie. She moved to NY a while back, and we keep in contact via Gmail. I'm trying to un-depress her and she seems to be happier now than she was before. She tells me that she looks forward to our conversations. I challenged her to find someone to be a true friend with, like she was back here with me and the others. She has some "friend's " she's going to try to open up to. I feel better about her situation because of this because she felt out of place before and didn't like it there, so if she can find some people to be friends with she can enjoy her time she has left in school and be happy online with me and the others and happy offline with her NY friends.

That is too true Sister Lucentas. Wasn't it Joseph Smith who said that never before has there been such a time of spiritual unrest?
