To me music is a big part of my life. I can associate a song to every moment, event, experience, emotion of my life. So, this post I have a rather peculiar question for you.
What would be YOUR ‘theme’ song for waking up each day?
Please post both the song title and lyrics bellow. ^_^

"Sleeping In" -The Postal Service
Last week I had the strangest dream Where everything was exactly how it seemed Where there was never any mystery of who shot John F. Kennedy It was just a man with something to prove Slightly bored and severely confused He steadied his rifle with his target in the center And became famous on that day in November
Don't wake me I plan on sleeping Don't wake me I plan on sleeping in Don't wake me I plan on sleeping Don't wake me I plan on sleeping in
Again last night I had that strange dream Where everything was exactly how it seemed Where concerns about the world getting warmer The people thought they were just being rewarded For treating others as they'd like to be treated For obeying stop signs and curing diseases For mailing letters with the address of the sender Now we can swim any day in November
Don't wake me I plan on sleeping (now we can swim any day in November) Don't wake me I plan on sleeping in Don't wake me I plan on sleeping Don't wake me I plan on sleeping in
[x3] Don't wake me I plan on sleeping in Don't wake me I plan on sleeping OOo oOo oOo
[x2] Don't wake me I plan on sleeping in Don't wake me I plan on sleeping OOo oOo oOo (Don't wake me I plan on sleeping in Don't wake me I plan on sleeping)
Don't wake me I plan on sleeping in Don't wake me I plan on sleeping

Ditto. Music is my therapy. (It's cheaper than a psychiatrist.lol) anywho, the first song that comes to my mind for my "waking up" theme song would have to be: "Sleep" Riley Smith Looking straight at the light, never used to be that bright last night. But, it's a new day with fuzz in my eyes, the alarm still ringing when i open the blinds and, How do these people do it? There're like ,driving around like there's nothing to it. And I imagine it's the medication your honor, well, probably the coffee. But there's one thing for certain in life, and that's the day I'm gonna eat cereal, and ooh today i'm gonna eat cereal. I mean come on let's get our priorites straight. And before you know it, i'm out the door late, just trying to catch some rat or some race or something, i'm not quiet sure what it is, so for now well, i just best keep running. And by 9 a.m. my brain and my body, they finally decide to meet, and we came to the same conclusions yesterday, that you know what, i never get enough sleep.
Sleep, no I never get enough. Always wakin' up tired. Sleep, no I never get enough, if I don't show up I might get fired. Sleep, no I never get enough. Always wakin up tried. Sleep, no I never get enough, if I don't show up I might get fired. Well, they call it commuting but I think they should call it inconvenience Cause why is it every time i get well, i'm stuck behind a truck just tryin'ta turn left, just tryin'ta to turn left, while you're tryin' to turn left and *sigh* why don't you park that crazy little cue-van, or hop in, i'll like drop you off or something. cause at this rate we'll both be late and i'd rather be late than both be sittin' here doing nothing, *sigh* But by 9 a.m. by brain and my body, well they meet, and we came to the same conclusions yesterday, that you know what, i never get enough sleep Sleep, no I never get enough. Always wakin' up tired. Sleep, no I never get enough, if I don't show up I might get fired. Sleep, no I never get enough. Always wakin' up tried. Sleep, no I never get enough, if I don't show up I might get fired Sleep, go on and sleep some more. Sleep, go on and sleep, go on and sleep, go on and sleep some more. Sleeeeep.... Sleep, no I never get enough. Always wakin' up tired. Sleep, no I never get enough, if I don't show up I might get fired. Sleep, no I never get enough. Always wakin' up tried. Sleep, no I never get enough, if I don't show up I might get fired if i don't show up i might get 'ired, Ooh I might get fired.

"A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" A dream is a wish your heart makes When you're fast asleep In dreams you will lose your heartaches Whatever you wish for, you keep
Have faith in your dreams and someday Your rainbows will come smiling through No matter how your heart is grieving If you keep on believing the dream that you wish will come true
A dream is a wish your heart makes When you're feeling small Alone in the night you whisper Thinking no one can hear you at all
You wake with the morning sunlight To find fortune that is smiling on you Don't let your heart be filled with sorrow For all you know, tomorrow The dream that you wish will come true
A dream is a wish your heart makes...
You wake with the morning sunlight To find fortune that is smiling on you Don't let your heart be filled with sorrow For all you know, tomorrow The dream that you wish will come true
No matter how your heart is grieving If you keep on believing The dream that you wish will come true

Music-My Anti-Drug. Yeah, in agreement to what you said Zane, music is my life. It is literally apart of my soul and is something, I plan on majoring in while in college. I have recorded a CD, but at the moment, I've been to shy and scared to release it. My music is different and I hate criticism so maybe in a year or two when I am sound with my new creations.
High Of 75 - Relient K We were talking together I said, "what's up with this weather?" Don't know whether or not How sad I just got 'Cause on my own volition. Or if I'm just missing the sun
And tomorrow, I know, Will be rainy at best. And the forecast, I know, Is that I'll be depressed. But I'll wait outside Hoping that I'll catch sight of the sun.
Because on and off, The clouds have fought For control over the sky And lately the weather Has been so Bi-polar And consequently so have I
And now I'm sunny with a High of 75 Since you took my heavy heart And made it light And it's funny how you find You enjoy your life When you're happy to be alive
And the temperature is freezing And then, after dark, There's a cold frost sweeping In over my heart And we might break up If I don't wake up to the sun
Because on and off, The clouds have fought For control over the sky And lately the weather Has been so Bi-polar And consequently so have I
And now I'm sunny with a High of 75 Since you took my heavy heart And made it light And it's funny how you find You enjoy your life When you're happy to be alive
Sunny with a High of 75 Since you took my heavy heart And made it light (made it light) And it's funny how you find You enjoy your life When you're happy to be... alive

Well, I wouldn't really say I have one particular 'waking up song'. But if I had to choose, I would say my favorite song to wake up to at the moment is Hey Eugene! by Pink Martini. Hey Eugene,o you remember me? I'm that chick you danced with Two times through the Rufus album Friday night at that party on Avenue A When your skinhead friend passed out for several hours On the bathroom floor And you told me you weren't that drunk And that I was your favorite salsa dancer You had ever come across in New York City.
Eugene, Eugene, Eugene, I said hello, Eugene Are you there, Eugene?
Hey Eugene, then we kissed Once we lugged your friend into the elevator And went to write my number on a soggy paper towel And the car went down And when we were finished making out We noticed that your skinhead friend was...gone. Long gone. And you looked into my bloodshot eyes and said "Is it too soon if I call you Sunday?"
Eugene, Eugene, Eugene I said hello, Eugene Are you there, Eugene?
I said hello, Eugene, Eugene, Eugene I said hello, Eugene Are you there, Eugene? Does any of this ring a bell... Eugene? (Funnyness- the song was based on something that actually happened to the lead singer. I feel sorry for Eugene. Great song, though.

@ Zane: I Love that song!!!
Three o'clock Tripping down the sidewalk Looking like a fool with a pocket full of questions I was living in the worry Moving in a hurry In the wrong direction But then Suddenly it hit me Doesn't really matter 'cause I got you with me I think I don't have to be so Down, down, down, down, down
I should be happy I should be happy I should be living up these days Just like I know who runs this place Now that you found me I should be happy
Three thirty Got a little dirty Fear stuck its foot out and I tripped on the same lie That voice screaming into my head Pushing me to play dead Saying "don't you even try" But how can I claime to be free When I carry more chains the world when they see me? I don't wanna be the fool who stays Down, down, down, down down
I should be happy I should be happy I should be living up these days Just like I know who runs this place Now that you found me I should be happy
Now I'm not talking 'bout a smile so fake While the world takes pictures 24/7 I just want my faith to be a little more real What you see is what you get What you see is how I feel
I should be happy I should be happy I should be living up these days Just like I know who runs this place Now that you found me I should be happy
|EDIT|I changed my song!

Music is basically what keeps me sane besides my friends. I love it <3
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "waking up song," but the song that I love waking up to is Let It Roll by All Time Low
The time on the clock reads half past four; I'm wide awake and thinking, With my pillow on the floor, That maybe I'm just wasting my time dreaming, In a harsh reality, I don't want to wake up to find out I've been deceived...
Let it roll. Our time is fleeting so we take control, From California to my home sweet home. Our days repeating like it's all we know. It's all we know.
Out here the hills roll on for miles, And the sun is like my own sense of direction, I'm always drawn to each horizon, When it's rising, When it sets, But all I can think about is s**, and playing one more game of six-cup in the back yard at "The Wedge," I know I'll never die alone because of all of you...
Let it roll. Our time is fleeting so we take control, From California to my home sweet home. Our days repeating like it's all we know. It's all we know.
Take, take a breath, We've got all the time in the world, To get a grip on the fact that we don't last, But right now I want to watch the tide roll in, With my best friends.
Let it roll. Our time is fleeting so we take control, From California.
Let it roll. Our time is fleeting so we take control, From California to my home sweet home.
Let it roll. It's all we know. It's all we know.
