Why did God chose Abraham? Why did God chose Isreal? Why not Everyone? Why Isreal? Did God love the Egyptians? And the people of Jericho, what did they do so wrong that caused God to destroy them? Did God Love the People of Jericho? Did God like the Philistines, Babolonians, Moabites, Ammonites, Amalekites or the Midianites? Did God even give them a chance? What about Aninias and Saphira? (have you ever stolen twenty dollars?)Did God Love them? Does God Love You?

Does God Love Everyone?

I'll talk more on this another time. I got 3 Papers to write.

You also forgot to mention the Greeks, Celts, Gauls, Germanic tribes, the Nordic tribes, the Aztecs, Incas, Mayans, Natvie Americans etc.

I can't really answer you're question about Jericho cause I don't really know. I've never really heard anything about it. (or watched anything about it. and I'm the history buff talk about sad).

Anyways I don't know why God punished those civilizations but it couldn't be God telling the ye old followers to kill the Celts and any other "barbaric civilization". He didn't tell Cortez to conquer the Aztecs. He didn't tell the American Fronteirsman to pull White Man's Burden on the Native Americans..or kill almost all of the bison. He didn't tell Mckinely to go forth and help the country's who "needed our help".

I think how it goes is that God is supposed to love us. We're his kids. I honestly don't think that he is the cause of the fall of most civilizations. It could very well be their fault or the fault of others thinking that God told them to kill them but in reality he didn't.

In my earlier comment I was refering more to the people the Isrealites killed because God told them to.

Jericho was a city that God destroyed when the Isrealites were on there way to the Promise Land.
I still have papers to write so I'll let you look It up. It's in Exodus, Mabye...

God created us. It shows that God loves us. If God doesn't love us, then we will never exist.

Oh, come on guys. What are you going to say when your friend asks you that?

"God created us. It shows that God loves us. If God doesn't love us, then we will never exist."

"well the way that I look at it...God loves everyone...that's it..end of story....he loves people who follow him...who don't follow him...who sin a lot and who don't sin a lot (everybody sins but yeah mibs) it's impossible for God to not love everybody"

I hate to be the guy who says this, but we need to be more then "Well, the Bible says so."

The devil's best strategy is to get young people to believe that hes not doing anything.

The devil is at work and to many Christians don't even try to do anything to stop him.

I didn't say cause the Bible says so. I think that God is very complicated being just like humans. We can't really tell what he wants and the ony guidance we know or the only thing that tells us what God wants is in the Bible. So its natural for others to say "Well in the Bible it says....God likes pies " (Yeah that was a bad example but we need a little comedy in our lives every now and then).

What Micah is getting at is that there is no proof that the devil exists or that he is the cause for any sort of problem. Of course, we know that he does exist and causes, or helps feed many problems, but that is only on the basis of faith. So Satan likes to use that to his advantage. If he can make people think that there are no such things as "demons" or "the devil", and that all the evil in the world comes from humanity, that will pull people away from the truth and make them very vulnerable to his influence. 3nodding

My friend Danny denounced his faith yesterday, none of us saw it coming. Satan had told us that he was prefectly fine. What could have been stopped, wasn't. Yes there is wars, rape and murders, But even more so there are Christians who aren't doing anything for God, because Satan has told them that everythings ok.

Satan Isn't Stuipid And His Bigest Threat Is A Christian Who does God's Will.

As Long As They Arn't Doing God's Will Satan Is Happy.

What a coincidence!

I have a student Bible with scholar's notes written inside. Here's what they have to say:

"Why Jericho was Destroyed

Against all odds, the walls of Jericho fall down, and the Israelites take the city. As was true of the ten plagues on Egypt, the destruction of Jericho- probably a center for the worship of the moon god in Canaan- symbolically announces open warfare between the God of the Israelites and the pagan gods of the region.

Although the measures taken against the Canaanites may seem harsh, the Bible makes it clear that the Canaanites forfeited their right to the land. Before sending them across the Jordan River, Moses told the Israelites, "On account of the wickedness of these nations, the Lord your God will drive them out before you" (Deuteronomy 9:5). Even so, as the story of Rahab shows, any Canaanites who turn to God are spared."

On another page, I have this:

"The Old Testament makes clear that the Canaanites were not being uprooted on a sudden whim. God had promised the land to the Israelites over 400 years before Joshua."
The civilians of Jericho were not innocent. God had given the land to the Israelites for a reason.

And yes, God chose Israel, but that does not mean that his blessings are limited to Abraham's descendants.
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." - Acts 2:21

Anyone who calls on the Lord! If you did not know God earlier, but you accept him today, you have just become a child of God. He has adopted you into his family too so that you can also partake in God's blessings!

The answer is an unequivocal YES.

God loves everyone and He has utilized all kinds of people, no matter what their age, ethnicity, background, gender, color, size, etc.

He'll use regular people... home-makers (Jael, wife of ********* the Kenite), farmers (Amos), children (Samuel), shepherds (David) and he'll even use "cast-off material". Criminals, prostitutes (Rahab), murderers (Saul), and unpopular "nobodies" (Gideon).

God loves every single human being on this Earth. That's why he gave his most precious son in the first place. So that we may all have a chance, no matter what evils we have done.

He is a God of justice, yes. But even more than that, He's a God of unconditional love, grace and mercy. The book of Malachi opens with God's own confession "I have loved you." But he rejects those who despise him, as he rejected Esau, because Esau despised God's blessing.

His blessings are there. Right in front of us. All we have to do is reach out and take it. It takes an open hand, not a clenched fist.
The Word says to "Live up to what we have already attained." God's right there, always listening, always showing His love.

I once doubted God's love for me, but I don't anymore. Just as I was thinking this, someone in my church started to prophesy and sure enough, they said God loved me and that He never left.
I still doubted. As I was driving to work, I looked up at the sky and written in the clouds it was written "Smile, Jesus loves you!"

Not a coincidence after all!

"For God so loved the WORLD that he gave his one and only son, and whoever believs in him shall not parish, but have eternal life." John 3:16. Enough said.

God Wants a personal relationship with each and everyone of us.

But, God cannot force a relationship on us. And Showing himself to the whole World whouldn't be very personal.

God used the Isrealites To show his love and power to the world. What did the World think when the Isrealites defeated Jericho? They saw It as an act of a powerful God.

God used Isreal to show his light.

When the outside world looked at the Isrealites they saw a group of people who care for sick people and beggars. They saw a very seccesfull nation, that had won alot of battles. The Isrealites were different, they stood out in the world. God alowed them to suffer when they started to conform, But God always brought them back.

In the same way we are God's light and when we are starting to look away from God, God most likly do something about it, But God is not doing it because He doesn't love you, He does it so he can love you.

of course god loves everyone who are u trying to fool he gives everyone the chance to go to heaven for no price at all and he sent his only son to die just so we could do that. if he didnt love everybody then why would he give everyone such a great oppurtunity and the reason god choose the people like abraham and the others is cause he knew that they were perfect for the job he wanted them to do. not everyone would do what god tells them to do even if they believe in him u cant tell me right now u would go to a king or pharoh or wat ever and demand him to let isreals people go when u know that theres a bigger chance of getting killed then the king/pharoh doing wat u ask him i know i would chicken out
