Ok, guys, I know what all of you thought about the end of Code Lyoko, right? IT WAS CRAP. So, in order to give my fledgling writing ability a chance to debut, and to help remedy the absolute disgust at how badly this show was handled by Moonscoop and CN, I decided to write an alternate ending to the show. Hence my story's name: Lyoko Rebooted. (Has a nice computer-esque theme, no?)

Anywas, a few timeline details. This story starts around halfway through the last season of Code Lyoko canon, when William was still in the clutches of XANA and our heroes were busy busting Replikas every other episode. And no the Kolousus (if that's spelled right) has not manifested itself yet, and it probobly never will, depends on how I want this story to go. Don't expect one of Zaber's epics, this is my first fanfic ever (CL or anything else) and while I am confident in my ablility to make it enjoyable, I don't think i'm up to par with him yet... not for another ten fanfics, at least. The episodes aren't very long, since I have limited time to write them, NTM the attention span of a cocker spaniel, but I will try to publish them as often as I can so that I don't leave you guys hanging off a cliff.

Ok, here goes!

Code Lyoko: Lyoko Rebooted
Episode 1: Disturbance
Initializing... Transmitting in 5...4...3...2...1...

"Aelita here. All systems are go, preparing network dive."

Aelita commed in from the pilot's seat of the Skidblandir, as she and the other Lyoko warriors in their respective NavSkids left Carthage and prepared to enter the digital sea. Jeremy, sitting at the computer terminal in the real world, took a quick glance at the Skid's stats on his display, confirming Aelita's system check.

"Roger that. All clear for network dive. I'll radio the coordinates of the target Replika once you've reached the network."

"Roger that. Network dive in 5...4...3...2...1!"

The Skid dropped like a stone, slipping into the waters of the digital sea as would an arrow. Aelita exhaled a breath she had been subconsiously holding. It was always nerve-wracking diving into the digital sea. One minor hull breach meant instant, total, and permanent devirtualization in the sea's acidic waters.

As the Skid passed through the floodgate that separated Lyoko from the rest of the network, she rotated it into undersea mode and commed in to the rest of the warriors.

"All NavSkids, status check."

"Ulrich here. Everything's ok on my end."

"Yumi here. No problems."

"All systems are go, Princess!"

[And that would be Odd], thought Aelita. [At least he hasn't made any jokes on food yet...]

"So, what are we waiting for?" said Odd excitedly "Lets roast this Replika, so we can go back and have some roast beef."

Aelita smiled. [Odd the actor, right on cue.]

"When you guys are finished making the rest of us hungry with your culinary comments, the Replika's location should be on the nav screen," Jeremy cut in, annoyed at the waste of time.

"Oh, what's the harm in a joke once or twice, even if it is Odd," said Aelita as she hovered the Skid over a swirling malestrom of data within a small node. "Broadband acceleration in 3...2...1!"

Meanwhile, within a small laboratory near the French-Spanish border, a lone scientist by the name of Johnathan Ciel was typing away at a datascreen. The screen showed a picture of the globe, with a clock in the far corner that was frozen at a time and date about a month earlier. He tapped a key, and the clock began counting foward at a rate of about a day per second. Meanwhile, the globe began to display wave of energy flashing about sporadically. While the pattern was meaningless to the casual onlooker - if there were any in the highly secured lab - it obviously made sense to Ciel, as he spoke observations in a tape recorder.

"November 12, 2007. After careful analysis of the waves of temporal energy appearing across the Earth at times, I have discovered a pattern in their appearance. Each wave only exists for a miniscule and nearly unmeasurable amount of time, just enough for the sensors to pick it up. However, the waves do come in pairs: each wave with a unique electromagnetic signature that only appears once more, and no later than 24 hours after its twin. Furthermore..." He took a breath before continuing. "All of the energy waves appear to be originating from the same place. While the exact epicenter is uncertain, it is somewhere in the vicinity of Kadic City..." He broke off suddenly as a commotion in his secretary's office reached his ears. Straightening his hair - which could get somewhat disheveled when he fell asleep at the terminal - he opened the door into the laboratory's atrium. His secretary was there, looking frazzled and redfaced. Standing by the desk were two important-looking men in sunglasses and black suits. They turned as he entered, and the more important-looking of the two men spoke.

"Dr. Ciel, I presume?" He said. "Your secretary was rather... reluctant to let us in."

"That's because she knows I don't like to be disturbed in the middle of a project." he said, feeling rather cross. "What do you want?"

His eyes widened slightly as the men flashed badges.

"I am Special Agent Pierre, this is Special Agent Jacques. We're from the Ministry of National Defense, which, incidentally, has taken an interest in your work on temporal anomalies." He smiled as Ciel almost fainted, forced to grab a chair for support. "Not every day a freelance scientist as yourself attracts goverment attention, no? But your research may be of aid to our... investigation."

"W-What do you need to know?" siad Ciel, forcing a smile.

"Let's skip the formalities." Agent Pierre was no longer smiling. "Tell us everything you know about the temporal anomalies around Kadic City, France."

Epidsode 2: Plans
Initializing... Transmitting in 5...4...3...2...1...

"Ah, Agent Pierre. The others have already arrived. Please, this way."

Agent Pierre nodded to the security guard, who led him through a complicated series of corridors and stairwells, finally ending at a large oaken door. Pierre took his hand and placed it on a scanner by the doorknob. The light above it changed to green, and he turned the knob and went inside. The security guard turned her back to the door as it opened. Even a glimpse of the interior could cost her more than her job.

The interior of the room was similar in style and function to the situation room at the Pentagon. Datascreens lined the walls, some displaying satillite imagery, others displaying temporal singatures that would have baffled the causual viewer. At the wall opposite the door, a datascreen to the side the Ministry of National Defense insignia showed an old photo of Franz Hopper, while the one to the other side showed the Eye of Xana.

Government agents - different in appearance but all dressed in suits and sunglasses - sat at a round table in the center of the room. An empty chair stood nearest to the door, which Pierre chose as his own. The agents, who had been conversing professionally with each other or reviewing classified files, fell silent as he sat down.

"Agent Pierre," an agent sitting in front of the insignia said. "I assume your misson was carried out without any trouble?"

"No." Pierre responded. "Dr. Ciel's information was most informative." He took a flash drive from his suit pocket and passed it along the table surface. "You will find his conjectures on the recent temporal activity on that."

There was a minute's pause as the head agent connected the flash drive into a USB port on the table. The data from Ciel's computer flashed up onto one of the many datascreens surrounding the room. After reviewing it carefully, the head agent disconnected the flash drive and, with a swift movement, broke the device in half. Throwing the remains into a dustbin, he addressed the table.

"Given this recent information, there can be no doubt that these temporal anomalies are the exact same as those released by Franz Hopper, when he used the Carthage system to re-live the same day for an entire year, throwing us off his trail. This can mean only one thing. Either Franz Hopper has resurfaced, or someone else is trying to finish his work." He paused a minute before continuing. "Whatever the circumstances, whoever is using the Carthage system must be discovered before they can abuse it further. Now I have recently unearthed information that, before Hopper went into hiding, he was a science teacher at Kadic Academy, a local boarding school in Kadic City. And, since these anomalies have been centered around Kadic, it is here where we will start our investigation. Of course, this operation must be kept secret until we have enough proof that Hopper is behind this; therefore, someone must be placed within the school to unearth information about Hopper, as well as anything strange that relates to the Carthage system and its functions."

He took out a few papers from his file, and straightened them before continuing.

"Unfortunately, we have run into difficulties in trying to get a mole into Kadic Academy. Since there are no staff openings at the current moment, it will be impossible to get any of you into Kadic for some time. And time is something that we do not have."

One of the surrounding agents spoke. "Surely you're joking. If this is all true, then how are we to carry out our objective? It will be impossible for us to investigate the school undercover unless someone has a legitimate job there."

"True," said Pierre. "That is true. But say we were to disguise someone as a student, soemone who could do investigating and relay any finds to us?"

"The problem is, we are all adults," said an agent to the right of Pierre. "I doubt even the youngest of us could pull that off."

"Oh, I wasn't referring to us 'adults.' I had something else in mind."

"What do you mean?" another agent said increduously.

Pierre smiled. "Well, I'm sure you know the age-old saying 'To hide a tree, use a forest.' If were were to apply the inverse of that wisdom to our current situation... we could use a student to hide among students."

Roars of outrage greeted this proposal.

"Pierre, I expected better of you since you joined this organization," said the head agent. "The idea is preposterous. What child has the qualifications to carry out an operation such as this?"

"Oh, he would first of all, have to be sympathetic to our cause, so that he would be willing to take an oath to secrecy. He must also be intelligent enough to gather inforamtion, seperate reality from rumor, and relay that information to us, all without letting him or herself be seen as anything else than a normal, average high school student. They must be able to defend themselves without the use of weapons, should they be discovered. And finally, they must also be able to operate computers at a higher-than-average level. That pretty much narrows our pool down to zero, but thankfully, I have just the candidate in mind." He turned to the intercom to the security desk for the building. "He has arrived, yes? Bring him in. I will open the door."

There was a minute's silence, then a loud knock resounded on the door. Pierre glanced at the datascreen for the door's surveillance system before opening it.

"Do not worry," he said as a teenager marched into the room. "He will not reveal any of our secrets. Getnelmen, may I introduce my son, Kelvin?"

Wasn't expecting to do that, Zaber's just too good.

You guys should get at least three episodes next week, since it'll be my spring break. after that i'll try to do an episode at least every week. The story should become more organized (and each episode longer) once I get through the exposition, then you can sit back and watch *censored due to massive spoilers*.

Oops sweatdrop . Gotta remember not to give stuff away....
