If someone tried to hug, kiss, ect, to Gaara, would the sand block them from doing it?
I (would like to) think the sand only protects him from harm.
Otherwise Gaara will never have a kiss crying

Hmmm...
I want to say that Temari mentioned that his sand armor only shows if he's on edge...I think they also said something about it taking a lot of chakra to use in the first place.
So....I think the "only from harm" thing is right.
He could kiss and such if he wanted. :]

Haha.... I can just picture Gaara going in for his first kiss and the sand tearing her face off. Then he would say something humorous like "Awww c'mon mom how am I ever supposed to keep a girlfriend like that." But I have to agree I don't think the sand would stop anything from touching him.

What I meant was:
spoilers in white[ we don't know if the sand still acts on its' own accord, now that Gaara does not have the Shukaku soul inside of him. It's very likely that he has to command the sand manually, which would mean, it's not automatic. ]

well. the sand protects him from harm. but, as u can c with his fight with rock lee, he does have some control over it. since, in that fight, he flicked his wrists slightly to cause i wall of sand to appear. i mean, if the girl sneaks up behind him and hugs or kisses him, yh, the sand would react. it might kill her. but, if she goes in front of him and talks to him and everything and then does it suddenly. i don't beleive the sand would react. it also depends on how powerful she is, since gaara's bloodlust gets larger as the oppnent gets more powerful(shu(can't spell today, bear with me...shukaku! there we go, yh, bloodlust is him as all know. to the spoiler. his sand still somewhat protects him because of his self conscientious.

I think the sand would only protect him if something harmful is trying to get him. otherwise I dont think he would have been able 2 do somethings in the flashback episode.

From what I"ve heard now that the demon is gone his power is no longer automatic.... He can still use sand.. But it won't work by itself...
