Most people count when they filter in Durem. You need to use a constant rhythm and check how many counts the different fish stay on both sides.

My rhythm is this. I count 1 when I click to cast the rod. I count 3 when I click the second time to release, and I release when the meter is full.

With this speed, boldurs stay for a count of 5-7 on each side, junk and bluestone biters turn at 4, blackroque biters, brown pebbos and black pebbos turn at 3, white pebbos alternate between 3 and 4 and pyrite biters turn at 2-2.5.

I have a collection of my filtering techniques in the FISHING TIPS AND ADVICE subforum of this guild, feel free to check it out and use what feels right for you.
