Jicho was nervous. He was actually more nervous than when he had gone to see if Siri was there that second time. It was probably because he was finally bringing her into his home, and all he could hope was that he wouldn't get into any bit of trouble. Not from his father, the Akida, but from a few of the older members with more traditionalist thoughts.
Oh, pleeease let them be busy and no notice. Or better yet, let them just assume she's Shabaha. Of course if anyone really knew the twins, they...weren't really together a lot, and that could rouse suspicions just in itself.
"So, um...we're pretty much here," he mentioned, looking at the twin trees that would guard the entrance to their den. The pride all shared a large den, which was probably one of the more significant differences between other prides that he had heard of from other strangers. "Well, at least we're in the lands now." It felt good to return home, though, as he let his pale eyes peer through the shadowy entrance to see if he could see any movement. Not really. Seemed like a quiet day.

Siri shared Jicho's nervousness. She'd spent her whole life trying very hard not to step on pridal territory, because most of the time it brought trouble. Now she was being invited in... and she was still getting the feeling that it might cause trouble anyways. Her bright pink eyes followed his pale ones, past the threshold and into the territory.
However, most of the nervousness melted away when her curiosity kicked in. She took in the two large ancient looking tree's. They seemed very unique, and the earth between them was red. She wondered if it was dyed that way somehow, or if it was a natural occurrence. She shoved the question into the back of her mind to ask Jicho about later.
She stuck close to Jicho, following just a little bit after him and just a pace or two away from his side. She felt safer with him close, especially since he was familiarity in an unfamiliar territory. Even so... she looked up at the trees and thought that they could be something very nice to see every day.

Jicho didn't see anyone in the den. Hmmm. That was odd, seeing as how their member count had grown lately. No matter, she would slowly meet everyone, it just might take a little while. Most important would be his father, but the Akida was probably busy. Jicho had new younger sibilings, and he was sure that they were getting most of the attention lately.
"Well, this is the den," he said, motioning to the cave. "It's really large inside, which is a bit deciving. It's where we all sleep at night." He smiled. "It might seem not so private, but it keeps us all safe."
Hmmm, what else should he add? "Oh! There is a small pool of water within in, the nyungu. You can drink from it, but if you ever need water to bathe, there are other watering holes in our lands that you can bathe from, you just need to find them." Their lands were a bit more dry than others most likely, but they were out there!

"Everyone sleeps together?" That did sound a little strange. Most prides that Siri knew of denned in the same general area, but in separate caves. It seemed kind of nice though- like a big family. Hadnt Jicho mentioned that he was related to a big part of the pride?
She said the word Nyungu a few times in her head. Even her brain was having trouble pronouncing it correctly at first, but eventually she committed it to memory. It was a strange concept- a small pool of water that didnt go bad? She figured it might have been part of larger amount of water somewhere else.
Now that they were there, however, Siri began to wonder about Jicho's family. He hadnt mentioned any family besides his twin and his parents. "Do you have any more family Jicho? I know about your twin and your parents..."

Jicho nodded. "It keeps us safe." He had a hunch that before his time, the pride wasn't always safe, and they adopted some of these traditions because of necessity. It was what he was used to, though, and it did help him sleep more comfortably.
"Oh...well..." Jicho was a biiit embarassed, though he wouldn't admit it, even if it showed. "My family's kind of big, now. There's me and my sister, and then I have four younger sibilings..." who were pretty much adults now. Wow, he really didn't realize it until now. He wasn't old, but time sure did go by fast! "And I think my mother is carrying again." Eeeeeee, huge family. He felt it a bit embarassing, but his parents always did like cubs.
"I'm actually surprised that none of them are around right now. Something must be going on somewhere, or else they're all just out in the lands." Usually someone hung around, but perhaps not today!

She smiled, Siri picked up pretty well on others emotions, and Jicho seemed embarrassed. "Thats quite a family!" It was nice though, to have a large family. Even if they did annoy you sometimes.
After the gnawing fear in her stomach had subsided a little, she began to feel excitement. The idea of having a pride- a family to call her own, well, after so long it felt good. She had pretty much decided already to ask Jicho's father if she could join the pride.
Something about the mteo just felt right to her. It obviously had a strong sense of community. "I wonder where everyone is too. Its very... deserted."

Jicho's tail twitched. "Who knows, maybe someone have a particularily good hunt today. I'm sure we can see them soon." His eyes scanned the area, trying to think about other things to explain to her. What else was there? He wasn't sure what she might need to know that she might not already judge herself, impossible to know unless you were an outsider thinking about coming in.
"Let's go this way a bit," he said, nodding his head to follow her. He really needed to tell her about where the Shadoe resided, and that she was never to go there. It was something very important that there was no way she would know unless someone told her.

Siri smiled and nodded, following just behind Jicho like before. "Alright." In truth, she was way more excited than she let on. She hadnt felt the urge to romp around and play like this since she was a cub... and it felt kind of good. It was like all the tension had gone out of her body, and she didnt even know how much it had built up until now. "You know the pride, afterall."
There was one more thing that was gnawing at Siri's mind. It had been there since she had met with Jicho the first time. Did she want to join the pride? How would she go about even doing so? It seemed like such a big decision, even though it felt right. Couldnt hurt to ask... "So how would one go about... well..." It was hard for her to spit out the words. "How would one go about joining the pride?"

Jicho nodded at Siri, his mind still trying to think about how exactly to tell her about what he was sure was called the Shadow's Hearth. The place only for the Akida, and perhaps his heir as well. "I'd sure hope I know, or else Father wouldn't be too pleased!" He was supposed to lead it someday, after all! The thought scared him now, but he knew that he would have to take a step forward for that some day.
He wasn't paying too much attention to Siri's movements, as he really wanted to tell her about the area. "In that direction," he started quickly, if a bit quietly. "Is an area that you should never walk onto. It's sacred, only for the Akida, our king, and his heir." He swished his tail sadly, wanting to push the thoughts out of his mind.
At least Siri was there to cheer him up, though it seemed like she didn't quite mean to right at that moment. She was just asking questions, right? It still made him happy to hear that. "Well, it'd probably be best to talk to my father, since he's the Akida and all." He paused for a moment before cracking a wide grin. "Just watch out for my mom, she'll pounce if she knew I brought you here!"

She calmed a little bit at Jicho's rather serious tone, tinged with some sadness as well. She found it interesting, but made sure to look around carefully and commit the area to memory. Wouldnt be good to go around accidentally breaking what sounded like one of their most sacred laws. "Alright, I'll make sure to remember it then." Siri nodded her head.
She smiled at Jicho's answer. She figured just talking to the kind wouldnt be bad. Perhaps intimidating, but not terrible. Siri wasnt sure quite what to think at his second statement though. His mom would pounce? Did that mean... that she would read more into the situation maybe? "Is that good or bad? And I suppose I'll have to meet her eventually!"

Jicho paused before picking up his voice again. "Well, if you're ever unsure, just ask me. I'll be sure to help you out." He didn't think that they were too different, he hoped anyway!, but he knew that there were a couple things that she shouldn't do. "Just be careful of going too far north, there's a place called Shadow's Hearth that you cannot go into. It's...sacred to us." Hopefully that wouldn't scare her too much.
He paused another moment, also trying to figure out what to say about his mother. Oh, his mother! "Well, she's just....let's say she loves her family a lot, and I'm sure she'll shove the two of us together if she had the moment to!" He laughed at the thought of her pushing him into Siri, but the almost scary part is that she actually would do it. "I'm sure you'll see her soon, usually my Father and Mother are inseperable."

Quite the contrary to Jicho's belief, the fact that the pride had unifying beliefs was incredibly interesting, and just made Siri want to learn more. "I'll remember." She smiled and nodded her head, just to make sure that he knew she understood.
The black lions next comment made her laugh as well, but it also strung a sorrowful note in the back of her mind. Family... It wasnt something that she thought about often, but her family was a precious memory, afterall. "It must be nice to have a large family." Realizing she probably sounded like a downer, Siri added the next part. "Your mother sounds nice, but a little bit meddlesome."
She was, however, really quite nervous at the thought of meeting Jicho's family. Most particularly, his father, the Akida. The more she though about it though, the more Siri was seriously thinking of trying to join.

"Oh!" Oh crap. Ooooh man. Did he screw up or something? His mind seemed to break into a million pieces as he tried to figure out what to say to make it all better. "Um, well, I guess it's good, but it's hard when you look nothing like you're family. You'll see once you meet my parents. And maybe even my sibilings, if they're hanging around somewhere." He had lots of sibilings. He just hoped that Shabaha stayed away. He knew that she'd probably try to chase Siri off, what with her view on outsiders. Didn't she know that they would die out if they didn't try to get some new blood here? Even he knew that, and Jicho knew he wasn't the smartest one in the pride.
"Well, my mother isn't that bad," he said, pushing his dangerous thoughts away. "She's just aging a little, and I'm sure she'd be happy to see me paired off as soon as possible...I'm sure you've got a hunch." He lowered his head and flushed at the thought. Ugggh, mothers! Always sweet, but always so embarassing as well. "I'll guarantee you that she'll lighten up the mood if you feel too keyed up around here." At least, that was how he saw her.
"You'll do fine, I'm sure I was enough trouble for my parents when I was growing up," he said with a sloppy smile.

Siri brushed off her thoughts and gave Jicho a winning smile. "So your family doesnt have a black pelt like you?" That was different. She knew that his twin sister had a black pelt, but it seemed strange that his family didnt.
She had to giggle at Jicho's obvious embarrassment though. "I'd love to meet them... especially your father."
She wasnt really sure how to broach the subject, and Siri had never made such a rash decision before. Normally she spent days of thinking about a large problem and how to go about solving it. But everything about the Mteo felt right to her. "I'd.... I'd like to ask his permission to join your pride." There, she said it. And it still felt right, even though she was nervous as all get out.

He shook his head, his white mane shivering over his shoulders. "No, actually. My family is mostly red, silver, and brown." He laughed, but it was a bit strained. "Actually, my sister and I are part of some old prophecy..." he let his words drop, not knowing how much she should know. It wasn't bad, no, but he didn't want it to make her turn away. He didn't know anything about outsiders, the strangers that seemed to endlessly wander. What he thought was ok she might hate, and what he might find frightening, she normal. It was unnerving, but even moreso when he let his mind wander away from himself. He had to stop that!
And her next comment certainly helped.
"Wait...waitwhat?" He couldn't help but stare at her. This was..."Fantastic!" Oooh, perfect! "I'm sure my father would love that! I'll certainly go with you if you'd like." It would certainly help her keep her chin up, going into something as frightening as it might be to her. To him it was just his dad, but to her, he was king.
