Vohamanah was flying, circling, tumbling and weaving his way through the air like a massive butterfly. The winter air was a little chilly to him. It sometimes made the musles where his wings grew out of tighten a little too much. Still, he was a tough one... even for being just a foal. As his violet hooves pressed on the ground as he landed, he looked around.
He had spotted in the distance what looked like a girl who had some branches stuck in her side. He was sure to come and help her out. He always believed he could save everyone. He was always and hoping and believing for the best. If anyone was suited to help bring someone out of their tiresome situations into a better place, he was sure it was himself. "Hey... You there... Let me help you get those off of ya!"

"Help? Zingela doesn't need help." She snorted softly, standing as tall as she could while flexing her wings out in an attempt to make herself look larger than she was. She didn't need help when there was nothing wrong... Especially not from one so... So... Whatever this one was.
"Who you?" Her brow lofted as she eyed the boy, taking a step back into the sun where it was a bit warmer. At least the grass was starting to get green again.

Voha stepped back and forth a little, swishing his tail. He wasn't insulted or upset by her demeanor. He counted to himself that he was a stranger after all. Maybe he was putting her off for being too forward.
"My name's Vohamanah. Mommy calls me Vo.. and my other siblings call me Voha sometimes... but yeah.. look.. you got sticks stuck in ya! I just wanted to help you. But, if you got it under control.. that's good. I just wanted to help. "
He saw her stepping back and didn't push himself forward. He thought if he was pressing too much, and it got back to his parents. What would they say? He was being too pushy with strangers? And, girls even? "Zingela, huh? Nice to meet you Zingela. Isn't it great that winter is almost over!"

"Why Vo or Voha and not Hama or Nah?" Her brow lofted slightly as she expressed genuine curiosity about his name. It was such a long name and there were so many different parts and different ways that one could shorten it. How could someone just chose one of them?
"Sticks?" Her brow furrowed. "Zingela not have sticks stuck to her. Zingela has wings. Beautiful ones." She nodded as she gave them a light twitter. "Dah says so. Says I'm beautiful like Momma." Of course her father was always right about things. Of course.

He walked around her a little to get a better look. Wings? Really??? He nodded his head after a second time around. "Wow. Sorry! You're right!!! They are beautiful! How neat that you somehow inherited ... blessing of the earth!" He nodded.
Then, he stepped back a little to give her some space. He was swishing his tail back and forth now. He had little by little been meeting other foals when his mother took him to meeting places, but he had never seen wings that were like that before.
After a moment of thought, he looked at her. "Not only are your wings beautiful, they also make you a unique horse! You are special, and you've been blessed with something not many other have. So, can you fly with them?"

"If... If I wanted to." She continued to hold her head high. Flight wasn't something that she had attempted yet and, honestly, she wasn't sure if she wanted to. She liked moving around on her hooves like her father did... But if she was going to be asked questions like this then she was going to have to figure out just whether or not she could fly. She didn't want someone to be able to do things that she couldn't.
"Can you fly with your wing things?"

Vohamanah smiled wide with sincerity and delight. "Oh, yeah. Sure I can! That's what they are for! I usually have to go a little aways from home to do it. My siblings weren't born with wings, and I don't wanna make them feel bad for not having them. I fly where they don't have to have ti all in their faces. But yeah... Flying is great. Maybe sometime, we could go fly over the valley! As spring starts to come out more, the landscapes will sure look pretty! Not that they don't look pretty with all the snow. Cuz, the snow if fantastic and dazzling. But, spring has it's own beauty as well."
He thought then maybe he was talking too much. His mother had warned him about getting too talkative sometimes. That it might discourage others from wanting to talk to him. But, he felt like he just had so many things he wanted to say. Most of them were all good things too. He felt like the world needed to hear more wonderful things be said.

"My mother has wings... An' so does my brother... And the pretty Star Lady has different wings. I don't think my other brother would feel bad if he couldn't fly. I bet he could run faster." She nodded slowly, pausing to think fo anothe moment. "I like plants. No pretty plants when there is snow on the ground." Her nose wrinkled slightly. "It needs to be warm."

He nodded listening to her. "Oh, maybe you're right. I'm sure you are. The snow is melting already though. I've seen quite a few patches of grass. My mother says that spring grass has a special taste to it."
He stepped around a bit, moving in a circle. The feeling of the spring air was calling to him all the time. He was definitely a spring baby to be sure. "When it is warm, do you like to run through the streams? I love that. Well, maybe not.. I haven't ever got to do it. But, I can close my eyes. I think it'd be wonderful."

Her wings gave a delicate twitter as she tilted her head towards the gentle breeze. "The water has been too cold to run through so far. It might be better when it's warmer but I won't know until that happens now, will I?" She grinned, prancing around in a slight circle. "Momma says that it's always better when it's warmer and that things get more beautiful and its just better that way."

Vohamanah nodded and walked over to stand across from her. "Yeah. I bet your mom is right. Moms are just great to know stuff, huh? I wonder if things like how cold the water is can tell us when the weather will turn for the better. I know that the snow always feels a little heavy if I have too much on my wings. I will be so glad to have it not snow any more."
He then noticed she had flowers in her hair, and she had ivy around parts of her body. "You really are touched by nature. That's super! Wanna go for a run? We can follow the creek to where this forest opens to the plain and back?" He just wanted to do something fun, and he wanted her to have fun as well.

"Father says... That the water in the rivers and streams is cold because it's running from the mountains; because snow is melting and making the water move faster." She nodded slowly, tail giving a slow flicker as she turned her head to watch him. "Are you a fast runner? I wouldn't want to go for a run if you couldn't keep up with me." She grinned teasingly.

Vohamanah for a brief moment found his optimistic walking on clouds way of thinking brought to a halt. He knew full well he wasn't fast. Not fast at all. He chewed on his bottom lip thoughtfully.
"I gotta tella ya. I'm not fast... Not really at all. I mean.. I can walk, run, or fly all day long, but I'm not very fast at doing it. Maybe I am able to do it for so long because I'm never doing it very fast. Dunno why it's that way with me.. but maybe if we went for a run anyhow... I'll get faster by trying to keep up with you." He wondered if it worked that way. Why not of course?"

"Hmm." She seemed to ponder for a moment as she took a step towards him, lowering her head to eye his legs for a moment before glancing up at him. "You look fast. I think you will do just fine at keeping up with me." She nodded at her new friend before prancing a few steps backwards. "Ready?"

Vohamanah nodded his head, flapped his wings, and prepped his feet upon the ground. "Oh yeah.. let's do this thing! It will be fun..." He said so in a whistling type of tone. He loved stuff like this. Who knew where this type of high adventure would lead them... For what he was concerned, it usually took him someplace new and exciting. Just the way he liked it. He was glad to find another soquili who had such spirit. Hopefully she'd be someone he might run with as he got older.
