 Aria floated on the water looking at the sunset. In a little while there would be stars, and those were the prettiest and most sparkly in the world. She loved looking at them. it reminded her of Damien. He was the best Syrin she ever knew. He always looked out for her. She loved him lots, but did he return the feelings? She was never sure. He was always silent and worried about other things on his mind.

 Sighing the adult syrin ran a hand through his usually tangled raven black hair. It was already evening and he could imagine the sunset that was above the water causing the glints of red and gold that showed up here and there. His day hadn't completely passed in vain, yet it hadn't been as fulfilling as Damien had hoped.
"I should of woken up earlier." He muttered as he avoided contact with several underwater boulders. His plan of finishing up his future home before the week was up was definitely making him very stressed out. Even more than usual...hopefully he'd find something to take his mind off of that though...
Surfacing quickly Damien couldn't help but to smile at what he saw. It was the colors of the ocean in syrin form. In other words it was Aria...a very dear syrin to him. And as usual Damien approached her in his silent way. The only thing to announce his arrival was the small splash that he sent her way before diving. Then he quickly swam around her and resurfaced quietly to float beside of her.

Aria, of course, knew who would splash her without making noise. Still she playfully started to shriek. "AHHH! The water is going to eat me! Save me!!!!" She pretended to drown until Damien helped her back to the surface and they floated together.
Aria playfully pouted. "I knew the water wasn't going to eat me!" She smiled and laid her head on his shoulder. She wondered what he had been doing all day. "What project are you on now?"

"I figured you knew that it wouldn't, Aria." Replied Damien with another wide smile. But still he couldn't help but to laugh a bit at the way she had responded to the splash. Quickly he wiped the few tears from his eyes as he listened to Aria talk.
Laughter was still dancing in Damien's eyes from watching Aria's playful acting, but a small sigh escaped him as she asked the last question. "I don't know if you should know about what I'm working on just yet."
His grin returned as he placed his arm around her waist. "But my question is what have you been up to?"

Aria pulled herself closer to Damien. "I won't accept that as your answer. Well the usual. Wake up, find a fish, try not to get eaten. I've been with my sister Katalina. She is one of the most self centered and beautiful Centaurs. She is funny listening to her though. She says I'm not to sing near her because the other taurs' attention will be on me instead of her."
She sighed as she thought of singing in front of other people. It frightened her a lot. She smiled as the last bit of sun dipped into the ocean. "I wish I could live where the sun meets the water. It's so pretty to see it far away. It MUST be amazing up close. What do you think?"

Secretly Damien rolled his eyes to the sky, 'Of course she would say something like that.' But his attention returned to Aria as she started to speak about a centaur. "She sounds...like the easily jealous type." He replied with a wry smile.
"But I can see why..." Here he looked back away from her face and coughed before quickly continuing, "You're very beautiful...your singing I mean is very beautiful...If I may say so." 'That came out jumbled.' Silently in his mind, Damien smacked himself for not being able to speak clearly around her at times.
"What do I think?" Blinking the syrin glanced down at her to see how serious she was. "I believe it would be very breathtaking...but not as breath taking as some of the other things that unlike the sun are very close to me."

Aria laughed. "Jealous is right. But she hasn't found THE taur yet. She wants one who will say that the world revolves around her." She stuck her tongue out as she thought about her. "Thank you." She said at his mixed complements and kissed his cheek. "You aren't so bad yourself and you can do so many things that I can't."
She gazed at the stars that came to say hello. The never came in groups which made Aria seem sad. She liked big groups or just a small group of two. "Like what?" She asked worried as she looked around for something that is more magical than a sun set.

"I hope she has luck with that...I've heard that most centaurs can be quite temperamental." But he stopped short as Aria kissed his cheek, "I guess...thanks." He grinned even wider at receiving the compliments from her.
She really is interesting at times. Commented Damien to himself as he watched Aria glance around. But then feeling very mischievous Damien shook his head at Aria, "I don't think I can tell you. It's a secret!" He smirked down at her before swimming back a bit, teasingly.

Aria sat and pouted when Damien left. She was going to try a new trick make him come after her. For the most part it worked. HE came back to the surface but he didn't do much else.
"I won't mind if you don't tell me. But it sure would suck if i meet another Syrin while you're looking at everything breathtaking." She smirked at her little cruelness as she floated flat on her back. It was a chilly night but the water was a perfect contrast.

Allowing the current to move him a bit closer to Aria, Damien smirked, "Now why would I mind you meeting new syrin? It might be a good experience for you." He replied after he crossed his arms and looked down at her while she floated.
Secretly Damien figured he knew her real meaning...but still he decided to keep her going...just for a bit longer anyways.

"Really?" She asked excitedly, "So I can go with your brother whatshisname? And you wouldn't care? I'm sure he'd be very nice. He would think I'M breath taking and gaze at me."
She giggled as she fluffed her hair. "Should I go ask him? His bow was very flattering. And he doesn't look so bad. Not nearly as good as you but you make due with what you got right?" She stretched getting ready to go find that "hot" brother of Damien.

"I see." Calm as Damien may of looked on the outside, he was really feeling different on the inside. "But...my brother isn't really like that, you know." He had seen the way Kian had noticed someone else...that look he had never seen the other syrin give to another definitely had surprised him. But he was glad for him.
She was really provoking him now..."You know that breathtaking thing got really cruel just now." His tone was icy, but his movements were fast. Very fast. With out thinking twice about it Damien pulled Aria forward and kissed her, unlike the small light ones from before this was a deep kiss. Pulling away, but not far enough so that their foreheads were still touching he spoke to her softly, "Are you done tormenting me now with that kind of talk, Aria?" His eyes and voice were soft and not cold like they had been before he kissed her.

Aria was shocked at how calm Damien was being. Most guys would have swept her off her feet..er..tail, as soon as their affections were doubted. "He isn't? That's too bad. I kind of liked it."
She frowned but it quickly changed to a state of shock as Damien made the move and not her. She didn't know that he would ever try to kiss her. She was soon dizzy from the kiss. "I think I'm done for a while." She smiled kissing him back this time a bit deeper but not like the one before.

Damien smiled at Aria and was slowly feeling the weirdness of what he had just done. It was unlike him...yet he couldn't say he hated it. I rather liked it...
He raked a hand through his hair and gazed at her, "That's good." Damien replied before allowing her more room in a loose hug rather than the tight embrace he had placed her in. "I don't know what I would've done, had you kept talking like that. It's worrisome you know...." Silently the older syrin hoped he was right in trusting that Aria hadn't really of been serious about saying such things. She would never... A small sigh escaped him, what was he thinking? Of course not!

Aria thought for a moment then answered. "I never meant it. Your brother is too much like my sister. If they weren't so different they would be perfect for each other." She laughed as she wrapped Damien's arms around her. "There really hasn't been any other Syrin that I know. When ever I think of Syrin your picture appears in my mind, and then all those very selfless things you did for me. I really appreciate it. And I'm glad I'm with you."
Aria mentally kicked herself as soon has she had spoken. What was she thinking being so bold? He couldn't love her. She was a nuscience, one who always kept him back. How could he possibly love her?
