At my high school, which I will be attending next year, they do marches before the football games. One year, my seventh grade year I think, they did a Nightmare Before Christmas themed march and everyone said it was cool. I didn't get to see it and that makes me sad... Have you seen/performed in any marches with this theme? If you can find a video, feel free to post it!

My band almost did it, but some band parents said it was against their religion... WTF right?

Not in my district, but in, like, the next one over, one of my friends said a band did a Nightmare Before Christmas-themed halftime show... she said one of their drum majors dressed up as the mayor and another one as Sally.
Another band did a Phantom of the Opera show, and the drum major (they had only one) dressed up like Carlotta, I think. Maybe Meg, I don't know.
Edit. And then her band did a John Williams show last year (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, and Superman), and when they played Superman, their drum major pulled off his band uniform and had a Superman costume on underneath--you know, those bulky ones with the fake muscles?
We did an "American Reflections" themed show last year (with a huge star formation that was revived this year), which was cool because we have patriot uniforms that we march in. And we had this fifty-yard-long flag the pit would run across the band.... I liked that show better than this one's. This year we did a classic rock theme. It was fun, but the music was repetitive.

We don't really have themes in our marching band. But Wind Ensemble played the entirety of Dante's Inferno two years ago, over the span of 4 concerts. That was pretty sweet. They also did this really long piece last year called Godzilla Eats Las Vegas. GAWD that was funny. XD

our band has themes. Last year, our theme was shrek (anyone know another band that has done Shrek?)
and the year before that, we did Hits of the Temptations

I did a nightmare before Christmas field show last year. And we totally kicked a**! And then we saw some other band do it this year....and we had to stop ourselves from leaving. SO DO NOT ******** IT UP!
It's a fun show though. :]

omg u marched to nbc? thats soo cool! i have done lots of marching in my time, and at our school, we have been trying to get our band teacher to do star wars theme... ahhahahah

well we have done lots of themes like this yr we did sherk the movie and the yr b4 that was america the land of the free. i saw the nightmare b4 christmas this yr but they didnt do as good as another band heart heart

I've heard a lot about the theme of the NBC, since there is more than one version of it. Some said it sucks and others say its kick a**
my theme for my freshman year was Toy Story 2, and THAT was kick a**
one of the reasons why is because it was custom made for my band.

genkara well we have done lots of themes like this yr we did sherk the movie and the yr b4 that was america the land of the free. i saw the nightmare b4 christmas this yr but they didnt do as good as another band heart heart awsome, finally someone who has done shrek other than me, what songs did you play?

this year, we're doing dances. last year they did flying stuff, like birds.
i like our music this year though.
